Craftwork Cards Refreshers Collection

Good morning, happy Friday. Lisa & I have been working through all the event day stock & samples in the last few weeks - it's a slow process, especially as we can only do it when we're both free, but we're getting there - and when we came across these lovely Craftwork Cards pieces, we thought they deserved to be shown on the blog. As far as we can remember, they were all made by the wonderful Julie Hickey, who was one of the event day demonstrators............

Julie used the new CWC Refreshers Collection  & the Paper Bows..........

This card also uses one of the embossed CWC frames that Julie lightly inked.
I LOVE this flower. I shall have to ask Julie to teach me how to make at some stage............

This pop up box card is gorgeous...............

And these fold flat for posting - genius!

These cards aren't on the website yet, but they are in stock - in packs of ten if I remember correctly. Email Lisa (lisabaker1@btinternet.com) & she will be able to help you. And of course, they will be on sale at the next class on September 5. (Fant Hall, Maidstone, ME16 8NN. From 2.30 to 9.30pm)

Thank you very much to Julie for these beautiful cards.

I'll be back on Monday, wishing you all a great weekend.

A Huge Event Day Thank You....

Good Afternoon Everyone,

Well I think I am just starting to recover from the exhaustion of my Event Day on Saturday
but can I firstly say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone that came along and supported the day, it was a great success and we are already planning the 2014 Event!

I thank you for your patience at the tills as I know the queues were very long and I assure you that we will have two tills in place next year!

I also apologise for having to stop demoing so that I could help you get through the tills quicker and assure you that this will not happen next year as we have already made plans to sort that out and I will be there for you to pick my crafty brains all day next year, lol!

It was lovely to see so many familiar faces but also a lot of new faces too and I know from what you have told me that you all loved the day.
So much planning goes in to the day and it was so rewarding to get so many lovely comments from you all yesterday, you all made my exhaustion worth it by your comments.

Here are a few photos from the day..........

Here we are all really busy getting ready for the start of the day........

My lovely friends Jenny Mayes and Julie Hickey sorting last minute samples........

Nearly there..........

And then the doors opened and you flooded in.........

As requested we will be bringing you all the new inspiration of the cards and projects that we had there on the day, on the blog over the next coming weeks as we have soooo many to show you....

The website will also be back to normal by the end of next week with correct stock levels in place as you know, I do not like to keep people waiting for items.....

I also want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all my girls as you all worked so hard and did a stirling job on the day.....

Suz, my little star!
What would I do without you?

Suz and Jan on the till, you coped so well under pressure!!

Kirsten and Rosemary on Make & Takes, everyone loved what they did and were proud of their achievements!
Also thank you to Kirsten for all your help on Friday......

Kate you coped so well, helping out so many people and thank you so much for your help during the week....

My lovely family, Jo my sister and my niece Chloe on the catering side, Yummy!!!
But Oh dear on the scales on Wednesday!!
We will have a lot more savoury items along side the cakes as requested next year.

My niece Heidi for running the Craft Raffle for Breast Cancer Care and the Tombola.
We raised £72.00 and I will make it up to £100 for them....

Well done to Donna for winning the Big Craft Raffle prize of over £100 worth of crafting goodies, the ticket number was '124'......
Also well done to Carole Cheeseman for winning the yummy Breast Cancer Cake that my sister made.
Carole's husband is diabetic and the cake is a little big for Carole on her own, so she has donated it to the Heart of Kent Hospice and we dropped it over to them yesterday and they were thrilled,
so Thank You Carole!

And lastly can I say another HUGE THANK YOU to the fabulous demonstrators and my lovely friends Julie Hickey from Craftwork Cards, Jenny Mayes from Hobby Art and Georgina Sweetenham.
I did want to get a picture of them all together but we were too busy!!!!

You all did a fantastic job and made everyone's day so great with all the hard work that you put in to all the wonderful samples........

Well, this is really sounding like an Oscar Speech so I think it is time to sign off.
I will be back soon next week with lots of lovely samples to show you.

A little more Time Flies .........

Good Morning all,

As a lot of you know by now, I had the absolute pleasure of playing with the new Time Flies Collection last week, getting ready the weekend workshop up at Craftwork Cards in Leeds with the lovely Julie Hickey.

I have been working closely with Craftwork Cards and this collection was inspired by me and has been in my head for such a long time and Sue made it become real for me.
Steph made an absolute fabulous job with the illustration of it, she has so much talent and it has been lovely to work with and I hope that everyone enjoys playing with it as much as I have.....

The collection is available HERE, and there is so much in the pack for you to play with.
It contains:
Time Flies 8" x 8" paper pad, Candi, die-cuts: 22 butterflies, 26 sentiments, 24 flowers, 8 paper bows, 14 labels and 20 bands

These are a few of the ideas that I came up with so far, I do hope that you like them.....

I cut around the elements and tore the edges of the card for a different look edge.....

You can't quite see it on the pictures but I added a little Glossy Accents to the clock face......

I used some co-ordinating coloured card to this one to make the layers pop.....

These little bows are so cute.....I added a little Milled Lavender Distress ink to this one.........

A little bit of co-ordinating seam binding and lace on this card, I love the ruffled look of seam binding......

I really love making flowers.....

Again a little hint of Distress Ink and some co-ordinating card stock to make it pop.......

You can see the glossy accents a little clearer on this one.....

I just love the lilac and cream colours together, so classic.....

A little closer look.....

Well that's about all from me for now, I do hope that you have enjoyed looking.....
I will be back soon with some more inspiration, happy crafting.....
