Is It Christmas Yet?

Well, Martina mentioned it yesterday so I thought I'd take the plunge, so here's my first hint of Christmas. There, I said it :o)

So using the Dylusions Post Box Red and White Linen I created a masterboard on Anna Marie Designs Super Smooth with the Woodware Mini Brayer and using the corner, corner, side technique.  Once I was satisfied with the coverage I toned it down using some Cut 'n' Dry and White Linen and dabbed it all over until once again I was happy with the result.

I cheated at this point because I didn't know what else to use on the background without going over the top so I chose some star and Christmas tree shaped biscuit cutters and spread a little each of the Starlight's Red and Silver on my craft mat and dipped then in and stamped them onto the card, first the red then the silver.

This is a sideways view and sorry I started to cut it out before remembering to photograph it :o)

I stamped the little Hobby Art Georgie & Robin Stamp (you may need to ask Lisa about this stamp) onto the master board then stamped it again on plain white card, (sorry I don't know what happened to the colour on this picture).

~~I think there were some of these stamps left after the Event Day. And they were in the sale. I'll try to find them next week & get them onto the website. Kirsten~~

I wanted to use a die cut shape from my stash for the snowman so layered it up with black card and stuck it together waiting to decorate.

I cut out the masterboard stamped snowman's jacket, some of the scarf, his buttons, the bobble and the robins red breast and paper pierced them onto the plain snowman.  Using the Dylusions Lemon Zest I painted the star and mixed a very small amount of the red with it to create an orangey colour for his carrot nose.  I then painted some Starlight's Red  onto the rest of the scarf, then coloured the Robin and snowman's arms using a brown water colour pencil.  I then used heated Fluffy Stuff for the scarf ends and the rim of the hat.

I used a 7" x 7" card and cut a black mat then cut some masterboard as a background sheet before layering on some white card that I'd cut the corners using a snowflake punch from my stash and put the cut outs to one side.

So matted the card all together and stamped a Hobby Art Christmas sentiment in the corner and used the little snowflake cut outs as extra embellishments pasted over the card.

Here's a close up of the snowman and the card again.

Once again thanks for dropping by to see my blog post, see you again next Friday.
Love Jan -x-

Let it Snow....

*This post is part of the December promotion fortnight. Remember to leave a comment to be entered in the giveaway.*

Good morning all,

Apologies for not being around too much lately on the Blog and Facebook but as a lot of you know my beautiful mum passed away quite suddenly a couple of weeks ago so things have been a little bit tough for me, but I am now getting back to things.........

The make I have to show you today is one of the projects that my ladies made at the end of year Christmas Party class.

Thank you to each and everyone of you that attended and thank you all for your kind words, cards and presents I felt thoroughly spoilt and supported at the same time and I love you all.....
You all enjoyed yourselves and made some beautiful home décor pieces to decorate your homes this Christmas and as usual I fed you all up before you toddled off home......

This home décor piece was created using Anna Marie Designs MDF Snow Plaques which they began by coating it in white gesso paint to give it a good base coat. After it was dried they then went on to dry brush the their words with an acrylic paint colour, I used a pale blue for this one.....
After that was dry they then brayered Diamond sparkle Medium over the words and base before assembling together.....

( A few ladies had problems slotting their words together after not listening to teacher say twice please try to avoid the slots and tabs on the words with your paint and sparkle medium, why they not listen, lol!!.......We got there in the end ladies, didn't we?!)

The Anna Marie Designs Poinsettias were stamped in Versafine Black Onyx and embossed with Wow Clear Sparkle Powder and then cut out, shaped and layered together. I added a pearl gem in to the centre of each....
They also had a couple of  snowflake chippies to colour and sparkle. ( I sold out of these at the class sorry)

Then there were punched holly leaves and scrumped cones and twigs courteous of a lovely pine tree that had shed its cones on the way to my local post office, the tree not a trail of cones as that would just be silly!! I really am losing it.......

I added some white gesso with my fingers to the cones and twigs to give them a snowy look and some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to the edges of the holly leaves and the chippie snowflakes.....

Finally they added some Fluffy stuff to the piece and heat embossed to finish it off and I think you will agree it makes a lovely decoration to adorn your home at Christmas time......

Well, that is all from me for now, but I will be back on Saturday to show you another home décor piece.

Have a great week

Hugs Lisa B xxx

Christmas in Miniature

Happy Friday! And to those who will be attending Lisa's classes later - Happy Christmas Party Class day! :) We've been busy making preparations all week, there are numerous lists & we're hoping we haven't forgotten anything.

Lisa sent out the December newsletter on Wednesday, if you missed it you will find it HERE.

Today I'd like to show you the last of my November projects. I used the new-to-the-website Marianne Creatable dies Tiny Winter Village & Tiny Pine Trees......

Tiny Winter Village    Tiny Pine Trees

Here's the first card. I used a 6x6 card blank & scored & folded the front. the patterned paper is by Hobby House, from their Snowflake Flurry collection........

I die cut the elements from white card & used my finger to add a little Diamond Sparkle Medium. I made the hills from torn paper & added Woodware's Fluffy Stuff for the snow. For the lighted windows I coloured a scrap of card with a yellow felt tip pen, glued on the village & cut around the scrap card to remove the excess................

The reindeer is from Imagination Crafts The Clearing stencil. I applied embossing ink through the stencil with Cut & Dry foam onto white card, covered the ink with
WOW Pastel Blue embossing powder & heat set. I cut out the reindeer & added the detail on its back with white liquid pearls & Diamond SM............

The second card is also a 6x6. I used The Clearing stencil's reindeer again & also the large tree from the Fir Trees stencil, applying Diamond SM through them, then cutting out the shapes when completely dry........

The patterned card is from the Let It Snow collection by Hobby House.......

The tiny pine trees & village are as on the first card the background is the
Embossalicious Lattice embossing folder & the sparkly ribbon is from my stash...........

Thanks for visiting the blog today. I  hope to be back tomorrow with a review of today's classes, but as Lisa & I are going to an all day workshop tomorrow, it might be Sunday - which is when the new blog challenge starts, in case anyone is thinking about entering the current challenge. That ends at midnight tomorrow night.
