Clematis Collage & Vellum

Hi there crafters, has it been cold enough for you this week?   brrrr  :o)

As we've been looking over the past months at our favourite techniques and products I thought I'd use Lisa's Clematis Collage and Vellum, after a couple of experiments I decided it looked best in black and white.

I started with a 7" x 7" card blank and matted it with some black then white card stock, I then cut a piece of Vellum the same size at the white matt.

Next was the stamping, which  I stamped the larger image of the set and two of each of the flower heads so I could decoupage them.  I used Versafine and Wow Clear Embossing Powder for this.

Next I added the Imagination Craft Script stamp down each side of the stamped image using Versafine and Wow as before.

I then decided to add a little bit of distress down the sides by using a Mini Distress Ink Black Soot to take away the starkness of the image, I only added a little to the Smoothie and worked it out onto a heat resistant mat before going onto the vellum to give it a smokey look .

The next thing was to build the card by matting and layering, cutting out the flower heads and shaping them using the very large Embossing Tool but also I cut slightly into the flower petal to make them stand up a bit more as the Vellum is quite a thick material.

Once the flower heads were stuck into place using Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue, I then placed a Diamond Gem in the centre of each flower head to finish it off.

Thank you so much for dropping by the blog again today and I hope you enjoyed the post.
Hope to see you at the February class.

Elegance and Texture

Hi crafters, not long to go now :o)

2015 EXTRAVAGANZA DAY

Todays card in another take on the texture we created at the work shop, this time I've incorporated a bit of stamping with Lisa's lovely stamps and some die cuts.

So firstly I used my usual 7 x 7 card and stamped it using the Imagination Craft Collage Clematis stamp set of Lisa's and  Versamark then embossed it using Wow bright white embossing powder.

Then distressed it all using Milled Lavender, I polished it all up after to create the resist technique.

Left that to one side to concentrate on the centre of the card.  I cut a piece of white card to 4 x 4 and cut the corners off.  I stamped one of the clematis using any ink then layered it up on to about 3 pieces of paper then cut around to create a raised embellishment.  I did the same with two punches, a handbag and shoes, the top layer was some coordination's card stock for texture.   I then took one of the lovely black silhouette die cuts Lisa has in the shop and layered three of them together, a forth one I run through an embossing folder again for texture.  I had some butterfly embellishments in my stash and put a layer of embossed paper on top and cut around them and smoothed the sides with a nail file :o)  I stuck them all to the white card.

Next step, I painted the White Gesso background and left to dry for about half hour or so.

I then began with the colour, Inka Golds are excellent for this technique, however I did use Imagination Craft Silkies too.   I completely covered the clematis  in the lilac but then decided I wanted it white, so stamped another onto white card, shaped it and glued it onto the top to give height and texture.

Here are all the elements:

I mounted it all onto the background card, dressed it with a few gems and here's the finished card again.

Hope you enjoyed that and thanks for dropping by again today.

Floral Collage and Tea

Good Morning,

I'm looking forward very much to Lisa's class day today.
Her and Kirsten work so hard to bring us these super classes full of inspiration, fun with a large group of lovely crafty ladies.
We will be having tea and eating cake which is quite appropriate for the theme of my card today.
I had in mind afternoon tea, Vintage style..

I've used a gatefold card to begin

Using a sheet of paper from this Theresa Collins Designer Pad
I stamped the main floral image from Imagination Crafts Clematis Elements by Lisa B Designs
and the single flower elements with Versafine Onyx Black.

I also stamped the single floral elements onto a torn book page so that I could cut these out and layer therm onto the main image.
The Happy Birthday sentiment is from another of these Floral Collage sets, Pimpernel Elements.
I then tore around the stamped pieces.
The edges of the torn paper is tea stained which I'll come to next.

Taking two regular paper doilies and a used teabag I cut and tore the doilies to use as a backing for the torn papers.

I stained the doilies all over and did the same to the edges of the torn papers.

These were then all glued to the card but just in the center so they didn't just sit flat on the card.

Next I punched holes for a narrow ribbon to thread through.
I rooted through my ribbon box and was so surprised to find a piece almost the exact match to the paper I'd used.
How lucky was that!

You will see how this works below, the insert paper covers the ribbon where it has been taped.

Finishing by tying the ribbons in a bow at the front.

So I'll leave you today while I craft and take tea.
I may well see some of you later but, whatever you do have a lovelyday.

Thanks so much for reading today.

Clematis Collage Clock

Good morning, hope everyone enjoyed the weekend. The weather was gorgeous here, it was so nice to spend time in the garden. My project is the smaller of the Imagination Crafts MDF clocks set, decorated with the Clematis Collage stamp set..............

After covering the clock with a few coats of white gesso, I painted it with a cream acrylic paint & while that was still wet, I added streaks of Dark Brown Brusho, mixed with water. When that was dry, I sprinkled on some Light Brown Brusho & flicked water on top, then set it aside to dry completely...........

I stamped  the Clematis Collage stamp in the centre with embossing ink & heat set with
gold embossing powder. I applied Black Soot distress ink through the Imagination Crafts
Honeycomb stencil...............

I stamped the collage stamp onto Centura Pearl Hint of Gold card, heat setting again with gold EP & cut out the flowers & adhered them to the clock with Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue...........

I finished the clock with card candi for the numbers & gold adhesive gems in the centres of the flowers..............

Thanks for visiting the blog, see you next time.
