Brusho Poppy Heads

Good morning, Kirsten here, I hope everyone had a great weekend. I took a break from using Dylusions paints & used Brusho colours instead for today's two cards. I used the Hobby Art
Poppy Heads stamp set, the Textures set & the birthday greeting from the Wildflowers set.

I stamped the poppy heads six times with Onyx Black Versafine, heat set with
clear embossing powder & cut them out.

I sprinkled some scarlet Brusho on to my craft mat, spritzed it with water & dipped three of the poppies into the mix. I dried the first layer & dipped the flowers again. Then I did the same thing with ultramarine Brusho & the remaining poppies.

I kept the background very simple, stamping the Splats & the Crackle stamps from the Textures set with two shades of red ink  & the Splats again with black Stazon ink.

I used two of the smaller stamps from the Wildflowers set for the background of the blue card & just two of the poppies.

That's it from me for now, I'll be back next Monday. Have a great week.

Brusho Colours & Glossy Black Dimension Paste

Morning all, here we are at the last Monday of January, the year is flying by already. I have another card from last year to show you. This time its a Brusho background with Sweet Poppy
Glossy Black dimension paste applied through a That Special Touch Poppies stencil...........

The Brusho crystals were sprinkled randomly onto watercolour card & spritzed with water. I made sure the card was thoroughly dry before applying the dimension paste...........

I stamped the Stampendous Pen Pattern butterfly with Onyx Black Versafine ink & heat embossed with WOW Primary Ebony embossing powder, then I die cut it with the coordinating cutting die from Stampendous. I mixed some Scarlet Brusho with water, painted the tips of the wings & finished the card with the 'Follow Your Art' stamp from Stampendous..............

Brusho's & Lavinia

Hi there crafters, continuing with more favourites from 2015, this time I've used Brusho's and some lovely Lavinia Stamps.

First of all I must apologise for the lack of photos today..............I got so engrossed with making the card I forgot to stop and take some, so I will explain in as much detail as possible.

I used a 7" x 7" white card and matted it with black card, I then cut a piece of water colour card slightly smaller than the black to embellish.

I created a background using the Brusho's Ultra Marine and Yellow and went ahead and spritzed my craft mat with a fair amount of water before peppering with the Ultra Marine first and then the Yellow.  I took the water colour card and laid it onto the colours pressing it down to ensure the whole card was covered, lifting it to see, and if there were some white areas I dabbed it back into the colour.  Once covered, it's a personal preference of mine to take a piece of kitchen paper and dabbed the wet card to create a lighter effect, then if I want to, I lay down some more water and paint and repeat the process until I'm happy, I usually do this a couple of times :o)  then dry with a heat gun.

The next thing was to randomly stencil the background with the Imagination Craft Bubble Background Stencil using Mowed Lawn Distress Ink.  Then using the same ink I stamped all over the image with some of the Hobby Art Decorative Background Stamps.

To create the main image I used the Mowed Lawn again and the following Lavinia Stamps:

Butterflies
(Sorry these are not on the web at the moment)

I went ahead and stamped the foliage stamps using the Mowed Lawn and second generation stamped them onto the background, so inking, then stamp onto scrape paper or card then stamp onto the background.  Once that was all done I went over the area again but this time using Memento.

I then decided to cut out a set of the wings with Acetate, smooth over some Cosmic Shimmer Glue and covered it in Glamour Dust then cut a small slit in the fairy back and slotted in the acetate wings so they stood out.

This looks better in the flesh, I actually run my glue pen down the card a few time and sprinkled with Glamour Dust to create some rain drop but they're not very clear here, the card will be at the next workshop in February.

I then took a small strip of white card and painted it with Imaginations Crafts Starlights Menthol and dried with a heat gun before place the peel off sentiments and cutting down to the size I wanted and using foam pads stuck them on the card as you see here.

The card was all matted together and done.  Very quick so I hope you like it and see you again next Friday.
Love Jan -x-

Lavinia Stamps & Brusho Crystals

Morning all, happy Monday. How was the second weekend of 2016 for you? I spent it in the craft room, ignoring the rain. I'm following on from Martina's post last Thursday, with a few Lavinia Stamps & Brusho cards of my own, from earlier in 2015........

The Spotty Toadstools were heat embossed with gold embossing powder & Turquoise & Lime Green Brusho mixed with water & brushed on top. I used the Nuevo embossing folder from Couture Creations to dry emboss a piece of Super Smooth card for the top layer..........

Painting the dry embossed layer this time with Lime Green & Turquoise Brusho. This is the Dream embossing folder from Couture Creations. Second & third generation stamping of the Ink Caps with Ripe Persimmon Distress ink. The Spotty Toadstools were heat embossed in gold again & painted with Turquoise & Lemon Brusho.............

For the third card I used
Fresh Lime Dylusions paint through the Imagination Crafts Hexagons stencil, Brilliant Red Brusho splatters on top & stamped the Ink Caps with
Onyx Black Versafine..............

Before I go, I have to give you some news from Google. They're making "improvements" again. This is the announcement from Blogger Buzz............

In 2011, we announced the retirement of Google Friend Connect for all non-Blogger sites. We made an exception for Blogger to give readers an easy way to follow blogs using a variety of accounts. Yet over time, we’ve seen that most people sign into Friend Connect with a Google Account. So, in an effort to streamline, in the next few weeks we’ll be making some changes that will eventually require readers to have a Google Account to sign into Friend Connect and follow blogs.

As part of this plan, starting the week of January 11, we’ll remove the ability for people with Twitter, Yahoo, Orkut or other OpenId providers to sign in to Google Friend Connect and follow blogs. At the same time, we’ll remove non-Google Account profiles so you may see a decrease in your blog follower count.

We encourage you to tell affected readers (perhaps via a blog post), that if they use a non-Google Account to follow your blog, they need to sign up for a Google Account, and re-follow your blog. With a Google Account, they’ll get blogs added to their Reading List, making it easier for them to see the latest posts and activity of the blogs they follow.

We know how important followers are to all bloggers, but we believe this change will improve the experience for both you and your readers.

So, there it is, nothing we can do about it. If you want to follow the blog & leave comments, you're going to have to get a Google account & then re-follow. You can sign up to the Follow by Email subscription too.

That's it for today, thanks for visiting the blog, see you next time.
