treats for moi!

In honor of my move to Atlanta and my birthday, which was on November 1, mama got me some goodies from the City Dog Market!  It's the best place ever!

Hmmm..... what have we here? There's a 'dale on it, so it has to be awesome! It's a puzzle game for pups! Mama made some comment about putting my nosiness and intelligence to good use! hmpf! I've got this! I have to smell them and find the treats. Easy!

That's right.... I'm putting my chompers to good use. I can lift the pieces like nobody's business.  I'm so ready for the level 2 puzzles!

My special birthday treat.... an ice-cream cone doggy cookie! YUM!

Love y'all,

I thought I might take you on a tour of my new home and neighborhood. We live in a darling part of Atlanta called Brookhaven.  It's super close to a great park and the City Dog Market which is amazing!!

These are pictures from our new apartment complex.

There are great sidewalks and paths for walking around the apartment complex.
and picnic areas with swings! yep, i climbed up into the swing. it was ok until it started moving!

Where to begin??

First, I've been a terrible bloggie friend, and I'm so sorry! I've missed you all so much!! And I absolutely promise to visit all of your blogs soon and very regularly from now on!
So much has happened!

Late June- Mama was offered a new job at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Yes! Atlanta! (It was very similar to what she was already doing at the hospital in Birmingham). She is working with kids with brain and spinal cord injuries.  I know... it's a little different to be a teacher at a hospital, but she loves it! She gets to focus on their individual needs and feels like she is really helping them!)

July 15-
Mama and grandmama went to Atlanta to look for an apartment for me and mama and were in a car accident. Grandmama spent a week in the hospital in Birmingham and had surgery where they placed a rod and screws in her right arm. This also meant that mama and i had NO WHERE to live! Yall, it was a rough time!

July 25- Mama starts work! Yes, she only had a weekend between old job and new job! Crazy!! So, my sweet Aunt Blaire and Uncle Drew let mama live with them in Atlanta, and I went home and lived with grandmama and grandaddy for the time being.
Aunt Blaire and Mama- at the Coldplay show!

Early August- Mama found us a lovely apartment, but it wouldn't be ready until September!

September 9- Mama moves all of our stuff from Birmingham to Atlanta!

October 15-- I leave my grandparents' and officially become an Atlantan! I love being a city dog again!!

November- Grandmama is doing better and is going to physical therapy now. Mama and I are loving Atlanta!

Hollie here.... I am truly sorry. I've missed reading all of your blogs and have felt terrible that Janie and I have been out of the bloggy loop. The accident, not having anywhere to live, starting a new job, and trying to get us settled has just been so overwhelming. You are all so special to us and we treasure your friendship!!

So, be on the lookout for me... I'll be around shortly!!
Love yall!!!!!!!!

Do Dah Day!

Do Dah Day is very awesome day devoted just to doggies! They close the streets and have music, food, and dog-friendly activities in our 3 parks downtown.
This year was a HOT day!

These guys were just so cute! I love the one peeking between the other's hind legs! hehehe silly weims!
Well, at least yours truly didn't have to don a tutu! poor girl! at least i think it's a girl!

ballerina puppies were everywhere! (bless their hearts!)

The best part: Do Dah Day has tons of tents set up with "vendors".... rather nice people these vendors! It's like trick or treating for dogs!!!
yummy treats and a new tennis ball! awesome! now, y'all can keep that measuring cup!
I was one hot and tired 'dale!
ahhhhh..... nap time!

another afternoon at Railroad Park

I had a date last week. Yep, me and not mama! hehehe
Her very good friend, Todd, asked if I wanted to go and play at the park with him. Well, of course!

Right this way.... let's check out the beach! What do you mean "it's not really the beach?" There's sand and water! Looks beachy to me!
Well, maybe not so much sand as dirt.... but I was able to cool off my paws!
All the beautiful flowers were blooming, and I had so many new things to smell and investigate!
This picture is for my grandmama. If they would have let me, I would have picked some for you! I'm sending you a virtual bouquet!
My silly mama forgot to snap pics of me and my new bff, Todd. But he's pretty awesome, and I had such a fun afternoon! (followed by an even lovelier nap!)

Grandmama- if you are reading this, click HERE to see the tractor cookies mama made.

Ok! Love Y'all!

kickball anyone?

I was at my grandparents' house this past weekend, and I couldn't get anyone to play kickball with me! No worries! I'll have more fun by myself! Two balls and they're both mine!

 pouncing after the ball.....

my giant paws are perfect for kickball!

I'm pretty sure it's time for a water break now!

maybe i'll have one more go at the ball! Notice the nice action shot.... ears whipping in the wind and hind legs in the air! Just call me Aire Janie! hehehe

Yep, I'm one happy and tired pup!

spring!

The flowers are blooming, the grass is green, and spring seems to be here! So, I decided to be a good little aire'girl and let mama and grandmama take some pictures.

Mattie Claire, found some gorgeous daffodils to adorn my collar! That's our little set designer in the background. She loves me b/c I play dress-up with her!

Love,
Janie

lucky girl

This is my grandmama and grandaddy's yard. (well, they live on several acres, so I use the word "yard" loosely!) Hmmmm... I know St. Patrick's Day is coming up, so I need to be on the lookout for something green.
Clover! and lots of it! Surely no one will pinch me if I have clover. I think I'll see if I can find a four leaf clover.
Yep, I'm pretty sure I"ll be pinch-free if I just hang out here.

Even better! I'm covered in clover! No leprechauns are gonna get me!Wait, I think maybe I need to befriend one of those guys... a pot of gold would buy lots of treats!

This was such a great idea. I need to tell Judd and Goose about the clover!

That's right, boys! You're headed in the right direction! What would they do without me to keep them in line???
Needless to say, we are all lucky dogs!
Love,
Janie

lucky.... i wouldn't go that far!

Yes, I am a very lucky girl! I was adopted by an absolutely amazing and talented mama (my paw was somewhat forced on that one!), I'm horribly spoiled, and I pretty much have it made!
However, I do not think being made to look like some sort of alien 'dale terrier with growths coming from the top of my head is very lucky! No, the festive crown isn't much better......

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
A very lucky 'dale!
