A very special 5 months.

At the start of this week The Bear celebrated 5 months in this life. Its hard to comprehend just how fast time is going. It seemed when Wonder Boy was this age time dragged and things took forever but no longer.

Another reason to celebrate this milestone is that The Bear has also been on my breast for 5 months, poor Wonder Boy was wrenched from the boob for no reason other then not knowing better. But happily 5 months is also how long he has been having breast milk in a cup. Its worth pointing out that in this time he has had no tummy upsets what so ever. Prior to this it seemed every second week was filled things coming back up or out.

We are a happy family of four with a cat though I must confess I hear the distant tick, tick, tick of my body clock letting me know just one more little soul would complete us. Time will bring what it brings I guess.

So I wish The Bear and Wonder Boy all my love and greatest wishes for a happy life. Such beautiful brothers.

And the Bean cometh forth!

September saw the arrival of our long awaited bean who now goes by the name of 'The Bear' thanks to Wonder Boy and his ever amazing discovery of how words can fit together. There are variations of this title including Gummy Bear and Stare Bear, depending on his mood. Either way we are over the moon he has arrived in our lives.

A day for gardening.

Late yesterday afternoon as Wonder Boy napped Mr F and I got our hands dirty doing some much needed pruning in the garden. Since we know we will be in the house for a few more years we have finally decided to start our long discussed compost bin. Mr F is on the look out for a 44 gallon drum or two but in the mean time we are just making a heap of garden waste under the house. I am happy to say that tonight I saw a green tree frog taking an interest in the pile. It has been many months since we saw one, they seemed to have vanished as the Cane Toads moved in.

We spent most of today taking green waste to the local dump where it is turned into mulch. Just when we thought our work was done a call from Nana had us out in the rural area on her block lending a hand with cutting back the calopo weed. I even had my first crack at the ride on mower which makes the job 100 times easier.

On another note I have fallen victim to 'fat finger' syndrome. A condition that makes it impossible to only press one key at a time. I seem to press two, even three in one go. Makes for very slow typing. Plus I have lost all ability to spell and remember names since getting pregnant again. But who cares.................I having a baby :-) !!!

And we are off....

This will be my third attempt at keeping a blog. Over the years I have had a few ranging from a pregnancy blog to a weight loss one and one for my son (Wonder Boy). Over the New Year period I decided rather then trying, unsuccessfully, to compartment my life I would simply throw the whole lot out there and let others wade through the drama and action and make of it what they will.

My little clan lives up in the Top End outside of Darwin City. We are a bit of a nomadic family in that Mr Fantastic works for the powers that be so we move around from place to place. We are lucky in that 'they' have decided we can have another two years up here which we are all happy about. For Mr F it's job satisfaction and for Wonder Boy and I it means remaining in our community longer. In addition to Mr F and Wonder Boy, The Bean is due to put in an appearance sometime towards the end of the next Dry Season (September).

Our community are those who we surround ourselves with who contribute to our lives and that of our son. It includes a hodge podge bag of people including Nana, Opa, Mrs Opa, Uncle Kim, The Twins, The Twins Mum, Wonder Boys Mob and a host of others. We have been lucky to have found such a wonderful group of people who live their lives entwined with ours. It makes for a whole lot of love and good times.

Well this is as good a intro as any I guess. Peace.
