Amy Butler's Daisy Chain

On Friday I was on my way home after picking Miss 11 up from basketball and realised that we were almost at the patchwork apple. Okay, about 22 minutes away - which is much closer than we usually are so I diverted and went to the apple! I had had an unfun week and felt like I needed to see Jane's fabrics. I had a lovely look around and brought some Amy Butler fabrics home with me. They are called Daisy Chain (I'm sorry, whenever I hear those two words together I just think of Jenny and her daisy chain!) and I am loving the whole blue and green thing they have happening.

For some reason blogger thinks these photos should be on their side. It has been dealing with photos weirdly lately. Anyway, you can still see the fabrics and think "that lucky woman!!!".

Overalls and a jacket

Polar fleece overalls with a polar fleece and Amy Butler jacket. And a seven week old grandson! Today I have been working on another similar outfit. It is cold here and this chubby little boy is growing like a weed, so warm, bigger clothes were needed. Mrs 24 took this photo and thinks it's not very good, but in my grandmotherly way I think it's wonderful! I love to sew baby clothes. They're so quick and achievable!

Wow! Amy Butler!

I just looooooooove these trousers! These photos are from Amy Butler's website. Wonderful, wonderful fabric! Amy does have a lovely quilt (shown below) but how great are these clothes made from her fabrics? How amazing it must be to design fabric and then to use it in other designs (clothing, bags, quilts etc)! That's really handmade.

Beautiful skirt too! Looking at these clothes from Amy Butler just makes me want to rush out and sew clothes! So much inspiration! So far this week I haven't managed any sewing. I have knitted booties and finished the stripey trousers I was knitting. I have just cast on a rug and am having great fun knitting it. I love fat needles! The rug is knitted with 8 ply wool and 5.5mm needles. Photos of my knitted things tomorrow!
