While chatting with a friend last weekend, I was talking about economizing on spending and acknowledged that one of my biggest areas of spending is yarn. I love going to a yarn shop, seeing all the colours, touching the yarn, comparing this mix/shade/weight with that one - yarn-buying for me is a very visual-tactile experience and I have only rarely bought online (and then it's always been yarn that I've previously encountered in a shop, so I know what I'm getting).
So I decided to challenge myself to knit as much as I can using my stash rather than buying more yarn (spending of Christmas/birthday money excepted, as that is outside the monthly budget). Rather than wait until the New Year and make it a resolution, I am going to start straight away.
So here is my stash - I must admit, when I gathered it all together, I was shocked at how much there actually is - when it's a tub here, a basket there, a bit of shelf in a cupboard etc. it's not so obvious how much there is. I think this is all of it and there's not any squirrelled away anywhere else that I've forgotten!
I'd better get knitting - I'll let you know how I get on!
Yeah, you've got a ton more yarn than me. I crochet. I started knitting a scarf a couple years ago but can't remember how I did that. Don't know the difference between a knit and a pearl, but I would love to reteach myself. Can't wait to see what you come up with.
