paint it::

One of my new boards on Pinterest is about painting techniques and color choices of paint. This came about after I carried home a bargain of a table the day before Easter Sunday from the auction. Twelve dollars later and clueless about where and what to do next. You tube came to the rescue at 12:00 pm one evening and so did Miss Mustard Seed.
If you haven't seen Marian's work on the web. Her book: Inspired You truly shows her knack in painting and re-purposing vintage furniture. Just peek inside her lovely home filled with furniture pieces that she has restored and given a new life. Low and behold, her love of redecorating her own home lead to her own biz with a line of milk paint to follow in 2012. I've been in awe of her work for sometime now, that I've been itching to start some of my very own projects around here myself. I contacted Marian with my dilemma and she graciously replied with.."Ok, what colors would you like?" She's such a peach of a gal. So, here I am... getting prepared to start the process PAINT IT in the coming weeks at home.
Back to Pinterest and the web for color swatches of Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint products. Making my decision based on my favorite color and my collection of ironstone. I've always been a real fan of neutrals and green,"lucketts green" to be exact by far won my heart. {shown below}

  hello...
  It's been a crazy week for me. How about you? Is it Friday yet?

  Well besides crazy.. It's official. In case you haven't heard the news. I'm now a contributor of Gatherings Magazine. With this new title, brings new ideas to the forefront. I'm thrilled and a bit humble all in one. I'm excited to join a team of talented Women who inspire us with their creativity and talents.
  It's all good with more to come.. from Editor, Heather Spriggs Thompson. Who, I might add is a real gem to work with.. and the team that now stands behind Gatherings Magazine. Bravo Ladies!

Random Stuff::

      I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Saturday morning, I went thrifting at a new thrift shop in my hamlet. Here's a look at the shop banner. I thought the handmade sign was very original. Great idea ladies of Heaven Cent Thrift Shop. Thanks for the free sifter!
     On my way home, I stopped at a yard sale. Wouldn't you know I bumped into a follower of my blog. Boy, it's a small world and to think I've been to her yard sales before. Cheri, it was nice meeting you.. You are very sweet ;)
     Recently, I was asked to participate in a community board about pincushions on Pinterest. What fun! If you follow my boards on Pinterest you'll access "A Passion For Pincushions"  quite easily. I forgot how many pincushions to date are pinned. Check it out if you have a few :)

Lace Is On My Mind::

Some, lace I purchased over the weekend in Saugerties. I was informed by my Hubby that the scissors are hair cutting scissors. I thought so too. Just incase you're a bit confused by the vignette. Hey, scissors are scissors. Right? I can't get enough of sewing notions these days. If you are on Pinterest one of my pin boards Lace and Doilies includes lace. Look me up if you're a member. Maybe, in my next life I'll sew. Now, that's funny.

It stopped snowing here and this am. I have a delay. Yay! I guess I'll go pin some more. Have a great day.

Farewell Camera::

During my Thanksgiving post, my Cannon camera died. I wanted to finish my post with more snap shots but, my camera failed. I knew last week while photographing some deer, that the zoom feature wasn't working. Not, that my zoom was all that great to begin with. My Hubby right away, told me to go out and purchase a new one. Well, it's not that easy. Here's my list of prerequisites:
  1.   Quick response
  2.  Advanced point and shoot
  3.  Low light situations
  4.  At least 10 mega pixels
  5.  Compact
  6.  Optical and Mechanical lenses
        Sounds like I know my stuff. Really I'm still learning :)

         I'm not sure on Cannon or Nikon but, that doesn't matter.
     So, I'm on the market for a new camera. I thought I would be thrilled at the fact of buying a new one. Have you seen the camera prices lately? This will be a early Christmas present for me. I figure, I might as well make the investment since I need to buy a new camera anyway. I guess?
        Please, if you have any suggestions I would love some advice in this area. It's not a easy decision to make nor, a hasty one. Thanks guys!

  My random faves this week from Pinterest. I have been working on a copycat project. Unfortunitely, I am short one element to complete the finished look. Don't you just hate when that happens? Luckily, a phone call to my Bff for needed supplies. Yes, she had that Vintage element I needed. Yay!! Now, I'm almost to the finish line. Sigh...
