Misa High Brow - swatches and review

Even though it's Wednesday there will be no green polish today. I haven't worn green for a while actually. I've been more into fall colors and today I've got a fall show stopper for you! This is High Brow from Misa.

The base is actually purple so depending on lighting it can look both red, brown or purple! Totally stunning! I wore this polish for almost a week! I couldn't bare myself to take it off! The glow from within is magic!

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Shimmer.

Number of coats: Two, but it's a possible one coater if you do one thicker coat.

Formula: Excellent formula! Applies totally effortless!

Brush: Medium straight cut brush.

Top Coat: Yes. It actually dries semi matte without a top coat.

Grade: 5+/5

A perfect shade for autumn! I love it!

Holo Tiger Nails

Time for some nail art! This is a manicure I wore about two months ago. You can see how short my nails were by then :/ I just had to cut them because my pinky was torn off right down to the flesh :(

Anyhow, I think this manicure turned out pretty well actually! Tiger nails with a holo twist ;)

The base is Jade Mystic Gold and then I've stamped on a pattern from a Konad plate called m57. The black polish is Misa I Will Survive. I had to stamp twice on each nail because of the small print but I don't think you can see the joints that much at all.

Vintage Manicure

The theme for today's Nail Art Sunday is "Antique" but I've turned it more to "Vintage" :). Our host Lela is usually very generous with interpretations so I hope she is that today too ;)

I don't really know what it is with this manicure that makes it feel vintage but it does to me. I'm thinking a vintage French boudoir here… ;)

The base polish is suitably Oh, Mr Darcy from Rimmel London ;) and them I've done a double stamping print. First the gold stripes (Essie Good As Gold and MoYou London plate Pro Collection-01) and then the flowers (Misa I Will Survive and Konad m57). And some dots on top of that. Fini! :)

London Skyline Silhouette Nails

Today it's Nail Art Sunday and for me it's the last work day for four weeks! The theme for today is "Silhouettes" and I've done a stampicure of the London skyline in the sunset :)

Well, skyline is a slight exaggeration ;) but at least you can see London Eye and Tower Bridge :)

The base is the magical Confidence from By K's new summer collection. The pattern is made with Misa I Will Survive and MoYou London plate Tourist Collection-05. To really get the illusion of a sunset the picture is taken under water to enhance the multichrome effect of Confidence.

I was quite happy with this nail art and when I wore it yesterday at work at got quite a lot of compliments actually :) And the base polish is absolutely stunning! I will do a separate review of Confidence later.

Swallow Nails

The theme for today's Nail Art Sunday is "Summer" and here in Sweden there is a saying going something like "one swallow does not make it summer" which means that an indication of something does not make it definitely. Anyhow, today I've got some swallow nails to show you! :)

The base is the stunning OPI Give Me The Moon! and the swallows are made with Misa I Will Survive and MoYou plate Mother Nature Collection-03.

I'm quite happy with the result. Grey/silver and black are always pretty and swallows are such delicate and gracile birds!

United in Grey: Misa Trust Fund - swatches and review

It's no secret that grey polishes have a special place in my heart :) This stunning dark grey cream found its way to me via the ever so generous Christine from Polished Marvels. Thank you so much pet!! <3

Perfect formula, as often with Misa's polishes. Why don't I own more Misa's….?

Today is the last day of United in Grey. I hope we in this group, led by Helena at Lacky Corner, have raised some more awareness for brain cancer.

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Cream.

Number of coats: One!

Formula: Excellent! It almost applies itself!

Brush: Medium straight cut.

Top Coat: No. Glossy on its own.

Color accuracy in pictures: Accurate.

Grade: 5/5

An amazing polish with excellent qualities! Lovely on its own and great base for nail art!

Rain and Umbrella Manicure

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that the theme for today's Nail Art Sunday was "Rain"! I've had a rain manicure in my archive for months! :D

The base is Bourjois Modéle Taupe and then I've stamped on the patterns with a black polish (Misa I Will Survive) and MoYou plate Tourist Collection-05. That is the London plate. Which else plate would have umbrellas and rain on it…? ;)

Not the brightest manicure but neither is a rainy day ;)

Flower Nail Art

Spring is here and I always feel the need for brights and flowers at this time of the year :)

So here's a manicure with both flowers and a brights! The base is a fairly new polish from H&M called Stop Sign. That name puzzled me a bit because in Sweden stop signs are red but now I've learned that in some countries the stop signs are orange :)

I used a black Misa polish called I Will Survive and MoYou plate Suki Collection-06 to stamp on the flowers. The pattern is actually with black in the middle of the flowers but I dotted on a bright purple dot in each flower to get a contrast of orange and purple. It was hard to cover the black but I think you can get the idea ;)

Many of my customers thought I had done lady bug nails and looking at a distance I can understand them :)

Spider Web Nails

I hope you don't have arachnophobia because for today's Nail Art Sunday I'm showing you my spider web manicure ;) I'm actually scared of spiders and I don't like the feel of their webs either :/

The base is a fantastic one coater silver metallic polish from By K called Moon Dust. Then I've stamped the pattern with Misa I Will Survive and MoYou plate Pro Collection-05.

I'd read that Misa I Will Survive would be great for stamping and it sure was! I seldom pat myself on the shoulder but this time my stamping was immaculate! Well done me! ;)

Holo Waterfall Manicure

The theme for today's Nail Art Sunday is "Red" and the possibilities were endless! In the end I chose to do a waterfall manicure. I've been wanting to try this technique for a long time.

It was both harder and easier than I thought. Easier on the clean-up. Not much mess at all. Harder to get a nice finish of the brushstrokes and to get the right proportions. I'm not that happy with the proportions on this manicure. They are sort of in no mans land. Next time I'll do them either shorter or longer.

The gorgeous holo base is Smitten Polish Just in Cases from the Love Actually Collection. The waterfalls are made with Misa Lovely Lychee (pink), Zoya Posh (red) and Orly Dazzle (silver).

I'm also joining Valentine Polish Week with this manicure - last day today :/

In shade.

Smilla's choice: Misa Lovely Lychee - swatches and review

I while ago I couldn't decide on which polish to wear so picked three randomly and lined them up on the floor. I decided to get my cat Smilla and let her choose for me. The deal was to wear the one she smelled first :)

I put her down in front of the polish line up and she chose Misa Lovely Lychee! (Then she quickly smelled ALL of the three polishes and ran off like her tail was on fire ;) Lol! But she did went for the Lovely Lychee first!)

The other two candidates were Misa Uptown Glamour and Essence I Love Bad Boys.

Smilla in action going for the Lovely Lychee! :)

GOOD TO KNOW:

Type of polish: Cream with some neon qualities.

Color: A very bright, almost neon, pink with a drop of blue in it.

Number of coats: Two.

Formula: Very good! A tiny bit thick but self leveling.

Brush: Very good! No complaints.

Top Coat: Yes. One coat. It dries a bit matte but not as matte as a true neon polish.

Color accuracy in pictures: Quite accurate. Perhaps that drop of blue in it is more visible irl, but it's still a super bright pink!

Grade: 4+/5

I don't think Smilla could have made a better choice for me! This is a marvelous super bright pink polish that instantly puts you in a good mood! The formula and brush are great too! You need a top coat though to make it glossy.

80s Leopard Nails - swatches

For today's Nail Art Sunday I'm giving you an 80s manicure! What could be more 80s than leopard print and neon pink? Not much ;) I've also added some blue dots with a personal blue favorite of mine, Blue My Mind!

The pink polish is Misa Lovely Lychee. The print is made with Illamasqua Boosh and Konad plate m57. The blue is, as I mentioned, H&M Blue My Mind.

Misa Lovely Lychee is from Misa's summer collection "Fresh and Fruity" 2013. I'll show you it without the print some other day!

Misa Dirty, Sexy, Money - swatches and review

For this Green Wednesday I've got a golden oldie for you! ;) This is Misa's Dirty, Sexy, Money! It's a gorgeous dusty green. Perhaps it was supposed to have the same green as a dirty dollar bill...? ;)

GOOD TO KNOW ABOUT DIRTY, SEXY, MONEY:

Type of polish: Cream.

Colour: A dusty medium green.

Collection: Misa Living on the Fast Lane Collection Spring 2009.

Opacity: Very good! This is two coats.

Formula: Excellent! A very nice formula which is easy to apply.

Brush: Excellent! No complaints at all.

Shine: Very shiny on its own so I have no top coat in these pictures.

Accurate colour, photo vs IRL: Quite accurate! Perhaps a tiny bit darker green IRL.

Grade: 4+/5 :)

I really like green polishes and this one is no exception :) The formula is great and I love the name! I this Misa is a really understated brand that doesn't get the attention it deserves.

How do you like Dirty, Sexy, Money?
Would you like to join me in a "Golden Oldie Day", say once a month, when we show a goldie oldie on our blogs?? :D

Misa Hot People like You - Guestpost by Sabina!

This week I will only show you pink polishes because this week is my "Paint them Pink"-week when I'm raising money to support breast cancer research.

My first guest blogger is the lovely Sabina who has sent me this swatch of Misa's Hot People like You.

She has also done some gorgeous bows on them! :)

Sabina writes:
"A neon pink polish that doesn't dry to a matte finish! An absolutely gorgeous colour! I haven't got anything else like it in my collection.
Unfortunately the formula is rather thin. This is three coats.
Hot People like you is on my Top-10-list! :)"

Thank you so much Sabina for being a guest blogger here!!

It's not too late to join! Everybody is welcome!
You can find all info you need here!
