CASology #280 KINDNESS

Hello CASology friends. Hard to believe we've come to the last CASology challenge for the year. Its a two-week challenge to give you more time since this time of year is very hectic.

We have a good one this week...let's end this year focusing on KINDNESS

And for me, this is the last CASology challenge as a Design Team member.  :(
I need to step away from my DT duties to focus on work since my girls are now in their tweens/teens.

For this KINDNESS challenge, I wanted to make a thank you card for Melissa and the rest of the CASology DT who have shown me great kindness and friendship over the past year and a half I've been on the CASology team. They are truly a wonderful group - supportive, encouraging, and as you know, so very inspiring. I'm forever grateful to Melissa for giving me this opportunity to join them.

My card is quick and simple. I framed the PTI sentiment with a embossed border and centered it on the card maintaining a nice thick border of color. I created a layered flower from MFT Stitched Flowers dies and nestled it i the corner of the sentiment block.

Be sure to check out the fabulous creations the DT has come up with:

And THANK YOU to all of you for visiting and supporting me as well with your kind words and comments. Happy holidays to you and all the best in the New Year! Wishing you a very happy and crafty 2018!

CASology #275 Gray

🎶.....when skies are GRAY. You'll never know dear, how much I love you....please don't take my sunshine away.  ðŸŽ¶

That song came to mind when I saw this week's CASology challenge: GRAY.  Its a song I used to sing to my daughter (now 12) a lot.

I wanted to use a monochromatic gray color scheme so I paired PTI Soft Stone with Simon Says Stamp Smoke Gray. I die cut the PTI butterflies out of the Soft Stone. Sentiment is from PTI Pen & Ink (one of my new favorites!) which I still had handy from last week's card.

Be sure to check out the GRAY cards made by my awesome DT friends:

CASology #278 STORMY

Hi crafty friends! Hope you are having a good week! We have a new CASology challenge this week: STORMY.
This one is a little tough but I know (wink, wink!) you love a challenge!

For my card I was inspired to use one of Papertrey Ink's newest colors STORMY Sea. I used that color for my card base and the matching ink for the sentiment to help someone navigate some STORMY times. I love this sentiment from PTI Pen & Ink...looks like handwriting. I added some wonky stitches around the border to add some interest to the white space and finished the card off with some scattered hearts stamped in Terracotta Tile.

Check out how the rest of the DT took STORMY and be sure to join our challenge this week.

Look forward to seeing what you create in the gallery! Thanks for stopping by!

CASology# 277 ROUND

Happy last week in November! It's a final CASology challenge for November and we hope that you will be inspired to play along.

I took ROUND literally and created a little round gift card to accompany a birthday gift. The recipient is an adult male so I kept the color scheme in the monochromatic blue/grey family. Using a monochromatic color scheme keeps a design CAS.

The card design in 3 layered circles. The bottom, card base was made by die-cutting a stitched circle on folded cardstock and leaving the edge hanging off so that it doesn't cut the complete circle. The result is a partially rounded cut card. I die cut smaller sizes of the stitched circle and cut off the edge to layer. The sentiment from PTI In The Bag was stamped on the smallest circle. Easy peasy and it ROUNDness makes it special.

See how ROUND inspired the rest of the DT:

CASology #276 CHEER

Happy Tuesday again! Kinda feels like Groundhog Day around here because I've been so busy that I've only been creating and posting for the CASology challenges lately. Hope that will change soon!

We are entering the holiday season so we've got an appropriately fun word for you....CHEER! So many ways to take this card so I'm sure the gallery will be brimming with a variety of CHEERful cards.

For my take, I wanted to use a CHEERS sentiment from PTI along with some cool triangles from the PTI Sketched Shapes set (one of my favorites!) to border the sentiment on both sides. I added some enamel dots along the side to continue the line from top to bottom. The left side remains open to maintain white space and keep it CAS.

Check out the CHEERful designs the rest of the DT came up with!

CASology #275 SHARP

Hi friend! Let's see how creative and SHARP you are with this week's CASology challenge.

Plenty of possibilities with SHARP. I took SHARP two different ways - 1) a sentiment about having SHARP eyesight and 2) I used double ended banners which have sharp points. The funny sentiment I chose as my card's focal point is from PTI Offbeat Birthday. I stamped it in black and matted the panel in black to help it stand out against the rainbow of banners I used as my background.

Check out the other ways the DT went with SHARP...

Can't wait to see all your sharp CREATIONS in the gallery. Have a great week! Thanks for stopping by!

CASology #274 TINY

Hello friends. We've got a new CASology challenge for you and its time for you to think TINY.

For my card, I looked for my tiniest of stamps. I stamped a small flower image (from PTI Choose Joy) at the bottom corner of my card and embossed a partial stitched zig zag line from a border die to ground the floral image. The lower case, small font sentiment from PTI Comfort Food additions was stamped underneath the zigzag. Simple and sweet and PLENTY of white space.

CASology #273 LIST

Hello friends! This week's CASology challenge features one of my FAVORITE words.....LIST! I love me a good list and you'll often find me organizing my life and making lists in my bullet journal.

I wanted to make a card to remind a friend of how great she is so I created a simple list using the MFT All about YOU set. I stamped the bold YOU and the phrases in a deep purple and used red for the check boxes.

For a text-only card, I like to use different color combos to make it interesting. One of my favorite (& unusual color combinations is purple and red...I was inspired by this dress.
