CASology # 217 CUTE

Hello friends! We've got a really CUTE challenge at CASology this week -

For my card, I used a very cute panda image from our sponsor this week Kitty Bee Designs. I printed this cute panda on white cardstock and used the Simon Says Stamp postage stamp dies to create a frame. I added a little turquoise die cut glittered heart in the panda's hand as well as the die cut MFT sentiment underneath the panda.

Before adhering the finished panel to the black card base, I embossed a larger postage stamp frame on it.

CASology #216 FRAME

Hello friends! We have a new CASology cue that I had a lot of fun with....

For my card I die cut several of the PTI Framed Out die in Soft Stone cardstock. I arranged the die cuts in a pattern on soft stone cardbase for a tone-on-tone look (one of my favorite CAS go-to techniques!). I stamped the sympathy sentiment from PTI Fillable Frames on the inside of one of the diecuts and adhered it inside the bottom frame. A few scattered putty colored enamel dots in each frame finished it off.

Check out how FRAME inspired our design team this week - lots of fabulous creations:

Altenew Challenge Blog Hop

I am so excited to participate in the Altenew Ultimate Challenge Blog Hop this week as part of the CASology team.  There's so much fun and prizes going on this week  - be sure to check out the  Altenew blog for all the juicy details!

I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I only have one Altenew stamp set. Many of their sets are on my crafty shopping wish list but haven't yet made their way to my craft room. But I wanted to highlight the one set I have - Altenew Label Love.  Love this set - so versatile.

I wanted to highlight the word AMAZING so I stamped a half circle in a rainbow of colors using the backside of the AMAZING stamp. I added a thin black card stock strip along the side to ground the circle.

Who knew there were so many challenge blogs?? Fun stuff! Can't wait to check them all out and play along.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you will visit again.

CASology #215 BARK

Hello crafty friends! Tuesday means there's a new CASology challenge. This week we've got a cue word that is open to many interpretations: BARK.

I think most people will think dogs when they hear back so I wanted to take it in a different direction.
For my card, I chose to highlight the bark of a tree. I used the PTI Mighty Oak die to make an embossed image on Fine Linen cardstock. I heat embossed the bark with American crafts Brown Sugar embossing powder to create a tone-on-tone look while still making the bark standout.  Sentiment is from the PTI Keep it Simple series.

Check out the fabulous creations of our design team -

And now its your turn! Create something inspired by BARK and make sure its clean and simple. Thanks for popping in!

CASology #214 BEACH

Hello crafty friends! Summer is almost over here in the US but we have one last ditch effort to keep the summer mood going (at least for another week!)....BEACH!

I didn't get to go to the beach as much as I would have liked this summer. I've got to make sure it doesn't happen next year! What I love most about the beach are the colors of the beach and water - always different whether I'm in NJ, Hawaii, or even the Philippines! But they are always gorgeous!

I was inspired by this color palette I found online which features some of my favorite colors to create with.

For my card I used similar colors, not quite exact like the photo because I used Kraft ink for my sand to lighten my "beach" card a little bit. I paired kraft with a trio of blue/greens - PTI Aqua Mist, Ocean Tides, and Stormy Sea. I masked off diagonal sections and blended ink on to the white panel.

I die cut THANKS (MFT) out of the bottom inked portion and adhered it with bits of foam tape after I glued down the panel on Ocean Tides card stock base. Love how this turned out - the colors are peaceful and remind me of the beach.

So check out what our DT was inspired to create from BEACH -
