Phew

Well, what a slog, but we did it. The mega QVC craft sale! Phew indeed. I was going to organise photo's to update Flickr, but there's no chance - I'm whacked, so instead just a quick update to say thank you everyone who watched, and a big thank you to Rena who had the horrid task of running from one studio to the next to help me and Amy set up and break down each show. They put Amy upstairs and I was downstairs.....hows that for planning! Nope, didn't make sense to us either, and it certainly didn't make like easier but hey, these things are sent to try us!

That being said we had really good shows, and it seemed to go like clockwork (even though I overslept - didn't even hear my alarm!! oops). Great day, great bargains and good fun.

I hope you all enjoyed it, and who got the lovely TSV - what a deal, what a steal!! Brill. Anyhow, getting ready for Fridays show, and then off to Lancashire for the Demo weekend at Dawns, hey packed my case already! Organised or what.

And now time to get a brew and chill out......xxx

Up North again

Well, my post is long overdue, but it's been so busy this has been my first opportunity to get on the computer (you can imagine what my emails look like - I've looked at them but came away again, just looks scary!).

A Makey Do was really good. Me and Ashley had a great day, completely different to normal crafty stuff that I do, so definitely something we are going to do again. We met some great people, including Jen who did a fantastic job organising the whole event. Well done Jen.

Then straight after that we had the wonderful Kanban TSV. Dawn got the day rolling and I was in for the morning show. The evening before we had a major gooseberry picking, which meant I went on air full of scratches and bites - looking good! Anyhow, I really like the characters from Patchwork Pals, they are so cute, and brill for everyone. Great TSV.

It was a long ole day, and then we worked from the hotel for the Wednesday show. The lovely Lindsay Mason came along to the hotel, love her cards, she's brilliant. She got ready for her TV debut, and then I had to leave so didn't see her show (cheesed off about that one). We had to get up North for Nicky's mums graduation, she was there in cap and gown and collected her Degree, she has done brilliant and everyone was really proud.

That's what we've been up to, so sorry for the delays in the ATC club and getting back to people who have emailed - I'm hoping to catch up (mmmmmm).

In the meantime here's some pics of a few of the cards I did for this week:

I had the chocolate colour core pad to play with, I used it with die cuts, scrunched up the card and stencils. Love it. It's my fav as I'm really into brown card at the mo, so found it dead easy to work with:

Also played with the clear background stamps, which were also really cool. For this card I stamped on a patterned background paper with corresponding ink (using a clear block so I could see where I was stamping to make a continuous image), then just outlined part of the image with a white gel pen, dead easy but so effective.

I'll pop some more on during the next few days. ttfn xxx

Sunny Days

Another lovely sunny day here in Canterbury. Loads of kits have been delivered ready for next weeks TSV - don't know what the actual TSV is as Clare is doing it (be great to see her, it's been yonks!!), but I've got some goodies to be getting on with.

In the meantime I've been getting abit excited about Glasto - the day after the TSV (mmm, glad I'm not driving). Ordered my She Wee!!! haha. Has anyone seen them, they look hilarious! It's basically a funnel you use to wee, so handy for festivals (or long walks when bushes are scarce!). Hopefully it'll be a liberating experience, not a soggy one (NOT using this one when I'm tipsy - can you imagine!! Don't.........)

Nicky in the Glasto hat!! haha. I liked that kit, the knitting one that was on the other day (think I've already babbled about it). Definitely going to get some more wool and get knitting - socks!! Love knitted socks.

On a crafty note, I was working with the color core card the other day, did you know if you trickle bleach on it (I used the thick stuff), the card raises and, when dry, you can sand the raised bit to show the other colour. I tried this on the card which is black one side, and coloured on the other, and it worked a treat. You can make your own free hand patterns. Don't think I took a photo of that one though (I know, typical). Oh yes I did..........

First year over!!

Can you believe it, our first year of Uni is over already - well almost. It was our last "proper" day today - then we have Summer School. How good does that sound, from Uni to school - I'll be back at nursery next year (sand pit and finger paint - brilliant!). Bet the sand pit has been banned now hasn't it - all that health and safety malarky.

Anyhow, it was good today, had our lecture for the next unit, found out I had no library debts (that's a first), and trotted off into the sunshine!

Summer school will be great, we are doing Life Drawing, which I've never tried before so that will be interesting. Then we are trying some sculpting of the figure as well. Will be good to have some continual time in Uni, as just visiting once a week means you don't get to really get stuck into anything.

I'm crafting this weekend, we have a TSV next week, so plenty of cards to crack on with. I'll pop a few pics on when they're done.

The Joy of Driving

I'm a little cheesed off today. Had to get my car out of the garage early (lots of work needed for it's MOT), to get into work - I was going to get the train but guess how much it would have cost.......nope all wrong guesses I'm afraid - it would have cost me £46.20!!! Can you believe it, that's half my wage for doing the damn show! I'm disgusted. Apparently we're trying to be greener and cut down the congestion in London - so we'll make the trains to expensive to travel on. Isn't that a scandal. Off peak it's £23, so the same as petrol, but peak is just robbery. Plus of course you have all the hassle of changing twice. Huh. So, I drove in my dodgy car, which I have had to drop back off at the garage, which will mean I'll miss Uni tomorrow. Really unhappy about that - it's our last day before the Easter holidays, so really wanted to go in. Unfortunately it's not worth getting the train to Uni then home, then driving up North - it'll be much to late, and I'll be shattered. Grrrr.....

Anyway, enough of my complainin' - and crack on to make cards for Tuesday's show. Thought I'd try and pop some photo's on of the cards from TSV day, but they are abit rubbish quality images I'm afraid - I've put them on the Flickr site anyway if you fancy a peak.

Doubt I'll be on again before the demo weekend - so look forward to seeing some of you there (that's if the car does get fixed!! fingers crossed).
