A few Butterflies and a Hummingbird in the yard

Skipper on Blanket Plant bloom.
Two skippers on a zinnia bloom.
The next 3 photographs are a Variegated Fritillary.

Sorry I didn't have the correct lens on when this single hummingbird came for a very short visit to the zinnias in one of my flowerbeds next to the driveway.

Silver Spotted Skipper

Well, the White Cabbage Butterflies were first, then the skippers started.
Have seen a few other butterflies, but not many.
There are lots of different skippers in my yard,
but all of these photographs are the Silver Spotted Skipper.
Hope it wasn't too wet for them this spring, we sure had the rain.
I will still be out there trying to capture the butterflies that do come to my yard.
They all seem to like my zinnia patch, and it is larger this year than last year.
Mary at Faith, Fabric and Photos has a post of the Silver Spotted Skipper, she talks about the White Elephant. Can't really see it in my photos here, but you need to check out her post. I will keep a look out for this marking in the future.

Butterlies on the milkweed

These were taken in July behind my house in the hay field. Not too good of hay, but great for the butterflies. Notice the 1st photograph has a Skipper, Buckeye, Variegated Fritillary and a bee all on the same bloom.I went in the house and came back out and captured the Monarch.

I also saw American Painted Lady, but did not get a good photograph of it.

By the way, my hand is good. I kept it in ice water as long as I could stand, then out for a few minutes and back in. Did this for about 1 hour, looks like I am not going to have any problems. Will be able to tell later this evening I am sure. I hope the hummingbird enjoys what I was making him.

Folded Wing Skipper on Variegated Fritillary

It's a skipper, but I am not even going to try to identify which one. Just thought it was an interesting photo with it on top of the Variegated Fritillary.

Skipper on flower

The skipper in the top photo was taken on Memorial Day. I took my camera outside when I went to 'supervisor' my husband planting zinnia seeds. He asked about the camera and I told him something might be happening out there and I wouldn't have time to go back for my camera. The bottom photo was taken last year. You can see why I want zinnia in my flower garden. They really attract all types of butterflies and moths.
