St Pete at sunset
Back from a week in the sun. Our time share was totally shut down for about 4 months to update it. It really looks good now, and we had a wonderful time in the sun, just relaxing.
It seems all my sunset photographs were stars this year.
The rest was great, now I see why we needed the rest....to prepare for the yard work waiting for Jimmy and me.

White Ibis on St Pete Beach
When we were in St Pete Beach in June I saw a White Ibis on the beach.
This was the first time I have ever seen a White Ibis on the beach there.
So I was snapping away.
Then Mason noticed his Granny was paying attention to something other than him.
Then Mason noticed his Granny was paying attention to something other than him.
And off he went to investigate. Mason looks like he is ready to fly. I laugh at this picture everytime I look at it.
He couldn't catch him (mainly because we wouldn't let him),
so he is headed back to the water.
I was really surprised how much Mason liked the sand and the ocean. My children were not crazy about the sand at his age. Mason wore us out before he was tired of it, everytime we took him to the beach. Lindsey did a great job of keeping the sunscreen on him and you can barely tell he has gotten any sun.

Snowy Egret at St Pete Beach - October 2008
These Snowy Egret photos were taken on St Pete Beach,
when we were there in October 2008.
That trip we saw more than usual of the egret, herons, and pelicans on the beach.
I have been really busy filling greeting cards orders during the last week,
especially people planning for Mother's Day. Sorry for the rushed post here.
Right now I am going to meet some of the ladies at church
for a peaceful lunch before going to work this afternooon.

St Pete at sunset
These sunset photographs were taken October 25, 2008 on St Pete Beach, Florida.
These gulls were just asking for their photograph to be taken. Aren't they great love birds?

Ruddy Turnstone at St Pete Beach
You know I struggle sometimes when I first see a bird. I thought this was a Wilson's Plover, but with Hap's help it has now been identified as a Ruddy Turnstone, which I even had a hard time finding in the book after having the name. Thank you Hap, yet again.
The beak does not match the gulls, and notice the yellow legs.
Aren't those feathers just beautiful?
These photographs were taken October, 2008 at St Pete Beach, Florida.
My husband keeps telling me they are just gulls when I stop to photograph the shorebirds, then I get home to the computer and see a bird in the crowd that is different than all the others. I am sure all of you have somebody that has to tag along as you stop and photograph everything in sight. My husband is real patient with me, didn't mean to sound like he isn't. He just thinks all shorebirds are the same.

Snowy Egret at St Pete Beach
A couple more Snowy Egret, both appear to also be juveniles. Notice those legs.
LOOK at this legs, and I don't just mean the color now. He looks like he broke them both, in relation to how ours bend, that is.
His bill is covered in feathers, and you can see why.

Hibiscus - St Pete Beach
These Yellow Hibiscus photos were taken June 2008, at St Pete Beach, Florida.
You know me I have to get up close.
Just thought you might be needing some sunshine today. Since I am currently on a trip to St Pete Beach, hopefully I have some sunshine today.

Sea Urchin at St Pete Beach
We should be checking in at our timeshare at St Pete Beach about now. Jimmy will carry everything in and head for the beach. Partly just to walk the beach, but he always comes back with such great treasures. While we are in St Pete he always walks the full beach (from one end to the other) every day. No wonder we have so many shells. Sometimes I go with him, but most times I just take it easy poolside with a good book. I don't walk the whole beach, especially in February, too much wind for me.
