Asiatic Lilies from spring 2009

Just some Asiatic Lily photos from earlier this spring.
These are Lollipop Asiatic Lilies. These have multipled so much that I have lots of these. They are at the edge of my largest daylily flowerbed and they bloom totally out about the time the daylilies are setting their buds real good. So the color is so welcome at that time.
The bottom one is Agrippa Asiatic Lily,
and it starts blooming a few days after the Lollipops begin.

The Asiatic Lilies are just beginning to bloom

This first Asiatic Lily is called Lollipop.
I also received it from John and Lindsey's first yard. Their yard had all kinds of flowers, and they were young and did not want to be bothered with them. So I have benefitted from their flowers year after year. So have several of my friends. I gave flowers away for 2 years from John and Lindsey's yard.
I just have to get close.
I love the centers of the Asiatic Lilies

This lily does not match any of the lilies in the brochure of Breck's Lilies so I assume I also got this one from John and Lindsey.
Don't know the name of it though.
Again, I had to get close.

My yard starts in the spring with the daffodils and the iris have started blooming by the time the late daffodils are finishing. Now the iris will probably be blooming for another week and the lilies have started. The Asiatic always start first, the daylilies are right behind them (have a couple of blooms now), and the Oriental Lilies come next. The daylilies bloom until frost. So to have blooms from spring until late fall all you have to plant are daffodils, iris, lilies, and daylilies.
This time of year is so hard to stay inside to post at the computer. Still struggling to find enough time for blogging, but I visit as often as I can. Would love to make some stained glass pieces too. Not enough hours in the day.

Dreamland Lily

Thought some of you might be tired of the bluebirds. So here is a flower. I still have some more of the action bluebirds to post...so this is just a short diversion.

Macro of Asiatic Lily

Macro photography is my real passion. I had a Canon AE1 (film) camera for 25 years. Last year when it finally took it's last breath I bought a point and shoot that was great for a point and shoot, but I still couldn't get my macro photography back to the Canon AE1 standard I was used to. I finally got a Canan D-SLR in March and I am back to playing. Macro looks easy, but to get ALL those points in focus is harder than it appears. I think I finally got it with this photo.

Lilies

We had much needed rain late Tuesday and Wednesday. These lilies are pretty with the rain drops on them. The top photo is either an Asiatic or an Oriental Lily. The bottom photo is one of my Orienpet Lilies.
