Black Vultures at the side of the road

These Black Vultures were on the side of the road in Florida, February 2009.
I have been trying to capture Turkey Vultures at home forever
it seems, can't begin to get close to them. These Black Vultures were on
the side of the road, we did a u-turn to get back to them.
They did not mind us stopping right next to them at all.
The rest of the story.....I dropped my lens cap under the seat in the car. I was kneeling next to the car trying to get the lens cap and stretched to reach it. Well, that wasn't very smart. My hand was then stuck under the seat. Couple of minutes of fright, and Jimmy pushing on the seat before my hand came loose. Morale of the story, do NOT stick your hand anywhere you have to squeeze it into. All of this to get a photo of the Black Vultures. (Alice you better like them.)

Female Red Bellied Woodpecker at Lake Seminole Park

The female Red Bellied Woodpecker was right behind the male coming to this tree. The female did put on more of a show than the male did.
I only got a couple of photographs of the male, not as close to him either.
The female is eating out of the same opening in the tree as the male did.
Notice that tail.
I am sure the tail helps them balance on the side of the tree.
I photographed a Red Bellied Woodpecker earlier in the year in the park and had been looking for the woodpecker again. We almost missed them.

Male Red Bellied Woodpecker at Lake Seminole Park

We were in the car pulling out of Lake Seminole Park when my husband saw this male Red Bellied Woodpecker. Naturally stopped and grabbed the camera.

Tricolored Heron at Lake Seminole Park

I have really tried to research this one. Hope I am right. His legs look different in different photos. In some of the photos each leg even looks different. While we there I thought this Heron acted differently than the Great Blue.
The way he flew around was different.
Notice he is belly deep in the water.
He looks like he is running across the water.
He just drops long enough to make his catch.
Then he is gone again.

Notice his legs in this last photo. I used my reference books and went to several sites on line. The legs look so different in different photographs, even on the same sites.

Osprey off shore at John's Pass

I took this photograph of a Osprey from the boat on a sunset cruise. I may be wrong, it may not be an Osprey. If I am wrong, please correct me. I am still a very young birder.
UPDATE: Per the comments, I did correctly ID this bird as an Osprey.
