i love sourcing fabrics, i can spend hours browsing online for the right thing. most of the fabrics i use for the dolls are vintage, imported or recycled. then from time to time a trip to the Cloth house becomes vital.
Alessandra and i had arranged to meet there yesterday after discussing our frustrations about online fabric shopping , we then had tea and macaroons round the corner at Yauatcha.
i left with the feeling i had known Alessandra for years, it was just lovely.
and i brought back some great fabrics along with some new inspiration.
a few Lumi dolls are now in the making.

hello! i didn't mean to be away from that space for that long.
since my last post i have been procrastinating a little, brought home some nice finds from the charity shops, enjoyed some time in France with my family (yes, we made it at last!), sent a new Lewis to his new home in L.A..
and i just added a new note card featuring Lumi #100 in the shop
i was very sad to read that Mieke and Veronik had to close their shop in Antwerp, wishing them all the best for their new ventures.

I had to make another patchwork dress for Lumi as she is a special number. her patchwork is made from silk and vintage cotton fabric. I will be sorry to let her go. i will miss Lewis too of course if he'd had to go too!
