Bows.

This week I've had a great fun making my card for Christmas Card Challenges.
The theme is "Bows" and I decided to use Piper from By Lori Designs. My first idea was to put her over a ribbon with a big bow making a simple card but then I realized that she had a present with her and decided to stamp lots of presents in different sizes which meant... lots of bows!

Here's my card:

I kep the big bow and the simple layout I had in mind by using only one patterned paper as background.
I wish I had all those gifts under my Christmas tree!

Don't forget to have a look at the wonderful bows my fellow DT have used for their cards:

Sabrina

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

I'm a Lucky Winner!

This morning I had to go out quite early but I had a look at my shop, mail and blog before leaving and I had a GREAT surprise: I was among the Sweet Five at ByLori Design Challenge # 3. I was so excited! I love Lollipops and Puddle Jumpers and every kid in their gang of digis and I'm so happy they like the way I use them!

A part from this very good start, the morning was not very exciting and I was a bit nervous and angry. After waiting for one month, I had received a purchase I made on Esty but... they sent me something wrong! A part that I needed it before Valentine Day, it wasn't waht I ordered!
After lunch, I sat down at the computer to relax a bit and found out that I had won the Grand Prize at Sweet Sketch Wednesday Challenge # 88! This is my very first prize and I started to scream: my daughter looked at me in astonishment and I immediately showed her my name there on the screen and the digis I'm going to win!! This challenge is very sweet, they leave sweet comments and I try my best to be there every week! I just enjoy their messages!

When I discovered my card was chosen among the Sweet Five I was even happier because today post had to be to show you something I did for ByLori Designs Challenge # 4.
This week colors are:
and, instead of creating a card, I decided to do this:

It is a tiny notebook: I covered it with glittered paper, added a ribbon and a button on the top, colored Kaylee digi with watercolor pencils and added glitter to her dress. It's really a tiny notebook, but I love how it turned out! (My daughter loves it too...).

This creation is perfect for another Challenge: A Spoonfull of Sugar Challenge # 139 where they ask for "Anything but a Card" and this is definitely not a card!

Well, now I'm much happier and I managed to cool down and relax a bit.
Thank you for giving me these two great prizes! You made my day!

Spring Colors

It's time for a new color Challenge at ByLori Designs and today colors are the following ones:
I guess it's pink, dark red, light brown and hot pink. Lovely spring colors or still Valentine colors?
I was looking through some of my favorite Challenges and they all still have Valentine or hearts or love as theme: I think I'll have a break from challenges for a while, I'm getting tired to make love cards! I've another one ready for a Challenge which I'll post tomorrow but it's in completely non-traditional colors...
Even if these may seem Valentine colors, I thought about spring and girls and birthdays... nothing to do with hearts, Valentines, etc...
Here's my card:
This sweet little girl is Puddle Jumper Rylee from ByLori Designs and she ìs lovely in her dotted pants and girly t-shirt. I added a heart baloon and a couple of pearls in her t-shirt and two rhinestones in her ponytails. Really girly girl!

That's all for today... I long for spring, it's so warm here and so sunny...

Time for a Color Challenge

Today it's all about COLOR.

It seems that color is a main topic for me, even when I was a little girl and someone gave me a gift I asked "Was there another color?". As time passed, my mom stopped bringing me something without my approval of its color...

Even my little daughter smiles and laughs when I match her socks with her dresses or her vests with her briefs.

For this reason, today challenge is quite a challenge for me: I had to work with four colors. They are not among my favorite ones so it was a nice way to think about something different from my usual pastel color schemes.

I've made a card for ByLori Designs: they have their second challenge and they ask for a card with these colors:
and this is my card:
I wanted to make a Father's Day card but I'd just found this fabulous birthday stamp and I couldn't wait to use it!
This is Landon, from ByLori Designs Puddle Jumpers and it's one of the two digis I asked for when my card was chosen as a sample for the shop.

It's a bit darker than my usual cards but I find it quite elegant and the colors together are very very nice.

Today I'm planning to go back to my pastel colors and make a couple of cards and cut some embossed shoes and bags for my shop. In pastel colors, of course.

Great News and a New Card

I'm sooo happy!

In November I found a little contest at ByLori Designs: they asked to have a look in the shop to see which images did not have a sample card and make a card with that digi (see my post dated Nov. 26).
I chose Lollipop Kaylee and... my card was chosen! Now it is there, next to the digi stamp! You can see it here: http://loriboyd.blogspot.com/p/lollipops_27.html

I'm so proud of my little Kaylee! I love this card!

ByLori Designs is also looking for new DT members and of course I applied. And, starting this month, they are holding weekly challenges.
This week they asked for card following a color pattern:

With one of the two digis I won after my card was chosen to be featured in the shop, I made this card:

I chose Lollipop Ella and made a very femminine card, with light green papers, roses, ribbons and pearls. Of course I glittered the dots on her dress...

More or less the same colors were asked in this week Cupcake Inspiration Challenge # 93:
so I decided to enter this card in this Challenge too. It's the first time I enter a card there!

Well, that's all for now!

A Little Contest

One of the reasons why I've never started a blog is that I know I cannot write something everyday but it seems I'm not good at writing something every two days or even three...

This week I have prepared some cards. Although I still make some Christmas cards to enter challenges and for the shop, I'm already looking ahead and starting with pastel tones and spring colors.

Strange enough, Christmas is coming and I'm a bit tired of Christmas colors and themes...

Today is Black Friday. It seems that every shop on the web celebrates this Friday so I finally decided to have a look around and discover what it is. Christmas shopping starts today!

We don't have anything similar here. There are those who plan ahead and start buying gift early in October so that they can save time and money and those who - like me - never manage to plan ahead and on Christmas Eve are still looking for the last present. I plan ahead but it seems it's not a good planning...

Probably due to the fact that we don't have holidays in this period of the year - except November 1 but it's more a religious holiday that a celebration like Thanksgiving or Halloween - shops start to prepare for Christmas little by little. As I wrote the other day, what was once something typical of December is now happening in October and early November.

Anyway, this week I decided to submit a card for a contest at byLORI Designs.
They asked to look around the shop, see which images have no sample cards beside them and make a card with the images that need a sample card.

Here's my entry:

I chose Kaylee and bright, spring colors.

That's all for now, have a great shopping day!
