Toddler/Teen/Etc Mid Week Reminder

{pant pant pant} I'm here!!!! I've run from the dentist...ok...I ran from the car after driving back from the dentist lol...to take pictures of my card and type up today's post. I finished my card late last night and didn't have the energy or gumption (can you tell I've been watching The Holiday lol) to take pictures and edit them and I was up with the larks this morning to get Rocky and Ruby to Doggy Daycare then to the dentist so am I forgiven????

I started my card using pp then decided it was too busy so opted for plain cs jazzed up with my favorite SU! embossing folder. Let me know if it was worth the wait lol...

Much of the credit of this card goes to Ladybug Julie or QOB (Queen of Bunting) as I like to call her. I've always loved Julie's bunting ... mine always looked pretty lame until she shared her secret with me the other week...she might be sorry she did lol. Also her doodling is fabtastic and again she shared her secret with me...it's all in the pen (Copic Fineliner) and a steady hand so maybe a glass of wine before you start might help lol.

I got the stamping bug back after my Football Jack card the other week so decided to use High Top from the Shoes n Bags collection which I think is perfect for either a girl or boy. I would have loved this image on a card when I was a teenager as I was a tomboy through and through...no dresses for me!! I stamped the image with Momento Black Tuxedo ink (sadly neglected since digi took over my life) and colored it with my Copics AND my neglected Prisma Pencils...I forgot how yummy they are to use. I've used one of my favorite color combinations...pink and orange though the orange doesn't show up too well in the photograph.

I added Gunmetal nailheads to the trainers for added detail and Glossy Accents and Glamour Dust to the hearts.

I'm quite chuffed with the sentiment. I saw a card on a blog which I can't for the life of me remember because I'd like to give her credit. I thought I had saved the card but couldn't find it so if you've seen a card with a sentiment like this let me know and I'll give you/her a mention. Anywho, there were no instructions but I managed to figure it out...pretty cool huh1

I used my fabby SU! embossing folder to jazz up the numbers...a Die-namics die set.

I got a bit carried away with my doodling and continued it inside...think I've got the doodling bug as well as the bunting bug now!!

You can still buy High Top for an incredible £1.95...that's 70% off!!!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Challenges 4 Everybody - Anything Goes
Come and Get It Challenges - Kids Birthday Cards
Glitter n Sparkle Challenge Blog - Stitching (real or not)
Kenny's Krafty Krew - Dies and punches (numbers and bunting)
The Craft Place - For a Child
Bunny Zoe's Crafts - Favorite Color Combo
Make It Monday - Anything Goes

It's less than 4 weeks until Nicole has her baby...I did tell you right??? She finishes work on Sunday and cannot wait and neither can I!!! My DLS (darling little sister) became a grandma for the first time on Saturday night when her step-daughter Jhordan gave birth to a gorgeous baby boy Chase Devon...he is super cute and I am thrilled for all of them.

I hope you have a great Tuesday.

Happy Birthday Mary J!

It's my Lovely Ladybug Mary J's birthday today...phew, another busy birthday month! I made her card before I made my SIL's and they're pretty similar as I liked the layout but I prefer this one. I LOVE the colour of the shoes and bag...Copic E71, E74, E77 and a bit of E79...these are in my top 3 favourite Copic colour combo's.

I know Mary J's received it and liked it cuz she told me lol. What do YOU think...

I think the colours go together better in this card

LOOK AT THE COLOUR OF THESE BEAUTIES!! Come on don't you think those E's are da bomb??!!

I added 2mm Light Rose Swarovski crystals to the handbag and a dusting of GD to the shoes..VERY sparklicious :-D

Inside a la MJ!

I went for a run this morning...4.2 miles!!! But I let myself down by walking some of it...must have been all the birthday cake I ate last night lol.

I'm a bit on tenderhooks waiting for Ruby to have her op. This will be her umpteenth...it started with her amputation at 5 months, 18 months later she broke her front left leg, last November she had her cruciate in her remaining back leg done and then there's the daily thyroid, glaucosomine and pain/anti-inflammatory tablets she takes and now this one. I'll keep you posted on how she gets on.

Right, better get in the shower...mom's taxi is on standby!!

3 is not a nice number..

The last 3 days have sucked! Three things in 3 days.

Started on Sunday when Ryan had a bad tackle playing football/soccer against Hearts and now needs reconstructive surgery on his cruciate. This is a huge blow as apart from being out of action for 5/6 months he'd just come back after quitting the game last year for all sorts of reasons. After time out he realised he still loved the game and wanted to play and luckily his old team signed again. He was doing brilliantly and now this.

Then last night Ruby's left side of her face started to swell. This morning when I went to check on her she looked like someone had given her a bad batch of collegen injections. See for yourself...

We have an appointment at the Vet School tomorrow at 9:30 but I'm taking her to my own vet in an hour just to make sure she's not going to suffocate as the swelling has gone down her neck. The last time it was her right side. She looks so sad :-(

Finally, today I found out treatment a friend of mine is having for cancer isn't working. I hope and pray the doctors will find something that will help her.

Don't think I like the number 3

In amongst all that I've got a busy week of birthdays starting tomorrow with Ryan and my SIL. I haven't started Ryan's yet but that's not unusual. I usually get to immediate family cards just before midnight the night before. I did get my SIL's done and here it is...

I'm not 100% about it but I don't have time to mull over it. I love The Ruffle. When I first saw the image I was quite daunted on how to colour the handbag but I actually love colouring it...it's very therapeutic.

I'm chuffed how the straps of the shoes turned out...I don't ususally get the shading like that

A bit fuzzy wuzzy...I'll have to sack the photographer

Best get Ruby ready to go.

Thanks for stopping by

Happy Birthday Sue!

I know I said I might not post today but it's a special day...yup...it's another Ladybug Birthday...the first of three this month!!! One of the criteria for keeping Julie on was her birthday and lucky for her...and us...it's not till October phew!

So a BIG happy birthday Sue...hope you have the most FABULICIOUS of days :-D

I can't show you her card because it's for Tuesday's TLT so here's another I made recently (late of course!) for my friend Marlene...

I LOVE the pp...it's a 6 x 6 pad I bought from Hayley...she's got a flabulous range of pads (and sells those lushalicious buttons). I use to buy 12 x 12 sheets by the truck load but lately I've been leaning towards the pads. The patters are smaller and more card friendly :-D

Ok...it's now 12pm and I've still got to hop into the shower. I've kept my running up and went for a run this morning. (Can anyone tell me when those endorphins are supposed to kick in because all I want to do is sleep afterwards hmph!) Came home...hung out the wash then took the dogs to CB. I most probably won't be posting tomorrow but hopefully I'll have lots of tales to tell you about tomorrow's workshop on Monday and pictures of our day. OMG...I'm so excited lol!

Have a great weekend!

TLT - Anita's Challenge - Make Your Own Embellies

Hellooooooooooooooooooooo and welcome to another Totally Ladybug Tuesday! Hope you've all had a good week and didn't get blown about too much. It's been pretty blustery (is that a word??) most of the week here and I'm crossing my fingers and toes that we'll start getting better (warmer, drier, sunnier) weather

This week is our flabulous Ladybug Anita's turn to choose our challenge and I love it...make your own embellishments! There's so much to choose from...flowers, flowers...did I mention flowers??? LOL...believe it or not I didn't make flowers for this challenge...I did something totally new...I made epoxy dots!!! Have a looksee and tell me what you think....

I was a bit of a multi-tasker and combined the challenge with Amanda's birthday card. Her birthday was Sunday and by all accounts she had a flabulous day :-D I used my new KI pp which I LOVE and my new embossing folder.

I thought I'd try something different for the flower on The Flip Flops and used FS with my micro beads

These are my epoxy dots...super cute. I bought 2 sizes of the Ephiphany Crafts expoxy dot maker...this one is SST-02 Roiund 14. They are so easy, quick and fun to make...I used the same KI pp as the front of the card.

I finished off the inside Mary J style

Thank you to everyone who entered last weeks challenge ...we had flabulous entries so make sure you head over to the Challenge Blog to see if you're one of the winners. If you're the overall winner email me with the stamp you'd like (£6.50 value) and where you'd like it sent :-D

I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with for this weeks challenge!

Thanks for stopping by

Another Ladybug Birthday

Happy birthday Amanda...I hope you have a flabulous day!
May has been very busy with birthdays and I think the last on my list is my Lovely Ladybug Amanda. I have got her card made but not mailed or posted here today as it's for Tuesday's challenge. I ended up multi tasking so I'm sorry your card is late Amanda but you'll see it on Tuesday and hopefully it will be with you by the end of the week or early the following week. :-D

I made this card last week again using the new KI pp although I coloured The Ruffle while I was away (just about the only crafting I did hmph). I love the colours of the pp (they look better IRL) and my new border punch.

The picture is a bit blurred but the inside says 'buy the matching handbag!' It would be rude not to lol.

I didn't go ott on the sparkle (no I'm not ill lol) and kept it to the ruffle on the shoes and studs on the handbag.

Before I forget I've managed to sort my commenting problem!!!! Pam sent me a link to a blog which Lisa sent to her which Lisa found here (phew!) I tried it quickly last night and it works. All you have to do when logging in is untick the 'keep me logged in' box. Not sure why it works but it does so if you've been having the same trouble as me and fed up swearing at your computer check it out! Thanks Pam, Lisa and Jules :-D
It's an appalling day here and I have to head out in it with the dogs :-( I hope to get over to Craft World at some point...I haven't been there in months and 'need' a few things.

I hope you're having a dry Sunday.

On the home stretch

I had a great time demoing at Precious Memories yesterday and met lots of lovely ladies. Thanks to everyone that popped in to say hi :-D

My Aunty Sue, cousin Colette and her family came for a visit on Friday...here we are looking our VERY best lol...

Jacob, Colette, me, Christina making fish faces

DLS picked me up and we met my mom, Tracey, cousin Colette, Aunty Sue and a friend of DLS's at The White Spot for some dinner then went to see Bridesmaids at the movies. I know it seems I'm eating out a lot...I guess I am lol...but I always go to certain restaurants when I come home and have all my favourites. I even went to The White Spot yesterday morning for breakfast with another wonderful friend Kathy. I think I've gone to all of them now...WS, Earls, The Keg, Dairy Queen (for those who've asked DQ is THE bestest most megamazing place to get icecream and is the cure for EVERYTHING)

Ryan asked me to make a card for his girlfriend's birthday last month and this is what I did...

I loved the simplicity of this card my Lovely Ladybug Anita made last month though I changed it slightly, adding stitching and exchanging the ribbon for felt flower.

OMG...tomorrow is the States!!! Every time I come home mom, DLS, Tracey and I go over the line and drive to Seattle for lunch at PF Changs. They make the most amazing lettuce wraps...and everything else! Then we drive back and stop at the outlets to get some great bargains. Then I start to worry how I'm going to get everything in my suitcases and cross my fingers and toes that I haven't gone over my 30 kilo limit lol.

Anywho...mom's called me for dinner so best get going before I get into trouble lol. Only a few more days and I'll be back on UK soil :-D

Bad Blogger

I thought I'd never get to post again!!! Don't know what was up with Blogger...he was in a bad mood about something :-S

I've been pretty busy catching up with friends and family this week....

On Monday we went to see my cousins Fran and George. Fran was really unwell at the end of last year and it was touch and go for a while. Thankfully she's on the road to recovery though it's a slow progress so I was really  happy to see them both. Their daughter Christina dopped in and it was wonderful to catch up with her too. Her kids were at school so I didn't get to meet them. We left Fran and George's to visit Fran's sister Ann (obviously my cousin too lol) and I got to meet the latest addition to their family, little Sofia who is Ann's daughter Sarah's daughter. Boy this is getting confusing lol. As you can see Sofia's absolutely gorgeous and I loved meeting her.

Tuesday, Tracey and I took our dad out for lunch to White Spot...OMG...I always have to have a Monty Mushroom Burger when I'm there...the fries and coleslaw are amazing too!

Tracey and I stopped off at a park on the way home

Now in case you're wondering how Magnum & Lily got their names, they were named after Shelly's cats...ummmm... Magnum and Lily!

This is Magnum

and this is Lily

Last night I went out for dinner to Earl's with Sharon and Marty from my school days. It was great to get together and catch up with.

This morning I met up with one of my oldest friends Ravina (she was known as Bemo through school) for breakfast at White Spot (another OMG moment...scrambled eggs, 12 grain toast, crispy bacon and wait for it...HASHBROWNS!!!) Now she's not the oldest age wise but one I've know since grade one or two and I haven't seen her since we graduated so we had a lot to catch up on. We met at 9:30 and had verbal diarrhea till 12:45 and I'm sure we'd still be there if she didn't have to pick her daughter up from school! Bemo hasn't changed a bit...she's as beautiful, bubbly and funny as she was at school. I'm mad at myself for not getting a picture but there's always next time.

My cousin Colette and her kids and my Aunty Sue are coming tonight and hopefully Colette's brother Jeff and his family too. We're just going to hang out and have pizza. I am loving getting together with my family like this and it's going to be really sad when I leave next week :-(

Tomorrow morning another friend from school is coming by then I'm demoing at Precious Memories from 2-4 and I think that's it for now! I can't seem to find my brother but what 24 year old wants to hang with his 40 something sisters lol???

Here's another card I made before I left. I love pink and orange together...how flabulous is that ribbon!

That's it from me...thanks for taking the time to stop by.

TLT - Hayley's Challenge - Black and White Plus One

Happy TLT blogland ... boy Tuesday comes around fast! Today is our Lovely Ladybug Hayley's turn to pick the challenge and she chose Black and White Plus One but before I start waffling I want to thank everyone for entering last weeks Going Dotty challenge. I KNEW I wasn't the only one that loved dots lol. Don't forget to head on over the the Challenge Blog to see if you're one of the winners :-D

You'd think the challenge would be easy wouldn't you....all you gotta do is pick that one other colour. But what do you choose? Red? Yellow? Green? Pink? I was exhausted by the end and went for a salmon pink in the end.....

I went for The Flip Flop...these are so great to colour. I'd LOVE a pair of flip flops like these :-D I found some old Doodlbug pp and teamed it up with a MS punched border (which was covered in a layer of dust but I knew I'd use it one day :-D)

The sparkle doesn't look very sparklicious in the picture but IRL it's flabulous. I put a tiny pink Swarovski crystal in the middle of the flowers.

No card is complete these days without a flower of some kind.

Tracey and I are meeting our dad and hopefully our baby brother (he's 24)  for some lunch today for a catch up and hopefully I'll catch up with some friends tonight.

Thanks for popping in today...I hope the Ladybug's have given you a little bit of inspiration :-D

Wedding Fever

Good morning peeps!!! How are you all this gorgeous sunny day?? Yup...you read right...it's SUNNY in Glasgow!! I know...can you believe we've had more than one day in a row of sun...in fact I've lost count how many sunny days we've had in a row!!! I'm sure our bubble will burst very soon but until then I'm going to try and enjoy it. Elaine came over yesterday morning to pick up a few things and brought some stamped images of The Ruffle shoe she had coloured in but forgot them when she left. I needed to go to the PO and offered to meet her at the PO in the Village in EK. My plan was to get the train there (2 stops from my house), do my business, pass over the images to Elaine then get the train one stop back, grab a coffee at D'Lish then walk the rest of the way home. I've done the walk a few times and on a nice day it's really enjoyable. I don't know what happened and what my thinking was but when I got to the point where I go left for the train or right to walk I chose right and ended up walking home!!! I got my loan phone out (my Blackberry is in for repair and I've been given THE most frustrating phone to use...lost ALL my phone numbers that hadn't been saved to the SIM card and can't get the saved ones to come up on this phone hmph) (Oh yeah..I DID what Vodafone advised and backed up all my numbers and files on my laptop before I sent it in but can I open that file? NO!!) and whoever had it before me kindly downloaded Newton Faulkner and The Hoosiers so I listened to 10 songs on loop on the way. I needed to get a few things for dinner and arrived at Morrison's at just after 2...got my shopping...text Tams who was swimming with sharks at the beach and continued on my way. I finally got home at 3:05 pm and am guessing I walked 5 miles! I was sore and tired but really enjoyed it and I know that if I hadn't gone I would have been inside either crafting or shock horror...housework lol and missed it.

So what about the Blog Hop??? Weren't the makes by the team megalicious! And a big thank you to my friend Jeanie for playing along with us...wasn't her beach bag gorgeous. I've hinted that a tutorial of how she achieved the basket weave would go down a storm (either that or I'm buying a ticket to Florida and get a one on one lesson!!) By the amount of comments you've left you seemed to enjoy the hop and the new release. I've loved reading all of them .... from my lovely regular followers to new ones passing through...thank you :-D

It was Lisa's (the bestest co-ordinator a Head Ladycow could have!) birthday last week and although I sent her a card (Yes Pam it got there on the day!!!), posted a picture of a birthday cake on the DT blog and emailed her birthday wishes I forgot to mention it here and the fact that I was sponsoring MAWTT!!! I couldn't post her birthday card on my blog because I used one of the images for the new release but now it's no longer top secret I can share it with you...

I knew Lisa loved The Hightop so I inked it up with my Momento ip and coloured it in with my Copics. I bought the Spiral Notebook Page from PTI ages ago and thought it was high time I used it. I REALLY like the look of it....it's something a bit different. I think the pp is BG but I found it loose in a drawer so I could be wrong.

I added GD to the hearts ...

and tiny silver nailheads to the sneakers

This is one of the new colours of felt called mulberry...it's stunnalicious!!!

I love putting the sentiment up the side of the image like this

And of course I Mary J'd the inside. I was really pleased with the way it turned out...nothing like I had planned in my head lol.

Remember you can buy the new release for the special price of £5.50 until May 2nd when it will be £6.50. To celebrate the RW I'm offering FREE POSTAGE world wide for this weekend starting tomorrow until Monday!!!

That is a great saving so why not take advantage :-D

Speaking of the Royal Wedding, how many of you are going to watch it tomorrow? Suzy Q has invited Lynn and I to watch it at hers. She's going to make cucumber sandwiches and serve non alcoholic cocktails (for me anyway lol) and I'm in charge of the tiara's...I just hope I haven't left it too late to get any but Susan only organised this yesterday. There's been so much about the Royal Wedding for months now and I know some people are getting a bit fed up with it but not me. There hasn't been much to celebrate lately with the recession, loss of jobs, earthquakes and tsunami's so I think it's a great way to forget all that for a couple of hours tomorrow and enjoy the celebrations. I can't imagine how Kate (or Catherine as she's supposedly going to be called from now on) must be feeling knowing that she will be watch by 2 billion people. I remember how nervous I was walking down the aisle in front of 110 people back in the day lol. I think they make a gorgeous couple and I hope they will have a long and happy life together.

Well, that's it from me for today. Hope you have a great Thursday :-D
