OPI Swimsuit...Nailed It

Sorry I've slow here on my blog. The main reason is my lovely computer that freezes now more often than ever. That drives me crazy. A simple thing that would take me few minutes to do now takes for ever.
I'm taking some time now to post this before Xmas comes and the Holiday Season is over.
What I have here is OPI  Swimsuit... Nailed It! I put that polish on my desk to be used but I really didn't know I could pull off something "Xmasshy" with it later.
I would describe this color, which its name seems very appropriate to it, like a  blue swimsuit from the 80's. Such an electric and vibrant blue. That color made me miss my childhood. So many memories. Isn't this pretty? I love it!

Then it passed a couple of days and I though of adding something  more wintery holiday like and I came up with snow and a snowflake BM14 on my middle finger. I topped everything off with Southern Lights and oh woww it feels cold just to look at it!

NYC Color East Village + Wet n' Wild Kaleidoscope

I am here always saying how much I love NYC Quick Dry polishes and all. But today I have one I do not like it. NYC Color East Village, a sheer aqua blue with green undertones. I do not like the color nor either the formula. That formula is just soooo sheer and liquidy. I had to put 3 coats and still I feel like I needed to add an extra one to achieve its full color. But oh well, I still love NYC polishes. This was the only one I've found so far not liking it.

I decided to try something to make it wearable sponging some Wet n' Wild Kaleidoscope glitter on the tips and uhmmmm I am not sure if I did any good to it lolololo

NYC Color Pier 17 + Wet n' Wild Cougar Attack

Oh, NYC polishes... How I love them. Right in my budget if I want new colors and quality is superb. Do you own any NYC polishes? If not you should give it a try. Love everything about it!
Today I have reached to a bottle of NYC Pier 17. Beautiful royal blue shimmer. The formula is thinner than usual but I did my usual 2 coats for full coverage.

The I knew I wanted to do something to it but didn;t have time for stamping or anythign like it so I tried to pair that up with Wet n' Wild Cougar Attack, the gorgeous copper glitter I was lemming from the On the Prowl Collection. I had to swap to get that baby cause there was no where for it to be founf by me around here. Anyways, I'm so happy I have it. Kinda love that copper over the blue. It's different and I like it! Do you ? Or is it weird?

Pink Wednesdays - CATRICE with some glitter!

Oh people, I am just so sick. For the weekend I thought I was getting better until I decided to enjoy myself at the State Fair. It was so sunny. Just a beautiful day until it poured rain with lightning and thunder. I got all wet as I could be. So I think that was it. The flu is still here inhabitating inside my sore body.
But I am happy I have my polishes, my blog and you so I can get away to my colored and happy world. Today I have another CATRICE. Oh yes!! And I have some more to keep showing to you guys! I couldn't wait Wednesday was here so I could post this.

This is CATRICE Miss Piggy Reloaded. Such a beautiful bubble gum cream pink. There is some subtle shimmer to it which makes it so lovely. I could use it alone but I had to add some fun to this mani. I then applied this beautiful multicolored glitter from Wet n' Wild Party of Five Glitters. I think it turned out super cute!! I just love it!

Pink Wednesday - Pink Tip

I got this beautiful blue teal from Jordana and I was sooooo excited to try it on. I know I'm supposed to do a pink mani for today but I forgot - laugh. yeah, that's how excited I was to try that blue teal.
Then I thought " It's alright. I can add some pink to it. They will go together really well."
But talking about the teal from Jordana I got say I simply loved loved the color. It's opaque in just one coat. However I was a little frustrated with it. I know last week I swatched a pretty coral from Jordana. I had no complaints about that one. But I had issues with this bottle here. As I was applying the formula to my 10 nail fingers it started to get thicker and gooey around the open on the bottle. Maybe I just happened to score a bad bottle. Weird!! Oh, and I am not even mentioning the hard time I had cleaning the excess of that polish. It stained my cuticles and skin real bad. Imagine the nail!! And I am always applying a base coat before any nail polish. Plus, when I applied the top coat (Seche Vite then I tried 0-60) to it it kinda turned the blue teal into a greenish tone to it. I don't know, that was just so messed up.
Overall that's what I need to put up with when I love a color too  much.
I still love the color though and the formula application. And because it's Wednesday and On Wednesday I wear Pink here I have my mani of the day. I thought of doing this design with tape but I had no time for it. I attempted just a free hand and guess what? Not too shabby. What do you think?

Pink Wednesdays - The Gold & the Beautiful

For today's pink wednesday I have something it reminds me of an indian sari. You know those beautiful indian dresses they have. I am just not sure if I like this OPI pink shade. It's a pinkesh/salmon color. It's shimmer and to get an opaque look you need 3 coats. At least I did. I'm not sure if I will keep this polish. Probably is going to my swap/sell list. Then I decided on going sponging with a gold Wet n' Wild super glittery shimmer. And here you have it:

Wednesday Pink - Fancy Zebra

I am still going on posting lolo
Today is Wednesday and pink it is!
I attemped on doing a weird comnation for me that this came out not really good. First a white base coat. I don't have a good white to paint my nails. On top of that I don't like to paint the whole nail with white cause I have never found a good formula. What's your favorite white nail polish ?
Continuing on my mess ... oh boy it took me forever to finish this mani. I decided to stamp the zebra print and then do the pink tips. Oh boy, that wasn't easy and I am not please with this at all. Then wehn i was done and went applying the top coat, SV brush came  on dragging the black over the nails. Look closer and you will see. A mess! I just had to post this cause I had nothing else to post here on my Wednesday Pink other then that.
Next week I'll to play safe lolo

Blue Sally Hansen

I tried for the first time to risk on some free hand art on my nails. Don't know if I am in love with it but it looks for sure. I used an opaque baby blue from Sally Hansen Blue-Away. Probably it's just me but these opaque colors specially from Sally Hansen are really thick and dry out so fast that I have a really hard time applying it. They ust be good for stamping. I should try that out sometime.
When Is tarted painting with that blue I thought of wearing it by itself with no stamping or over color on it. But because it came out with some imperfection ( at my taste because I know I am not 100% great doing my nails ). The I got some tape and painted half diagonal with a Wet n'Wild Metallica, an used my dotting tool to do the dots. For the white stripe I used the RIMMEL french white tip brush.

PS: I am still testing different ways to take my nail pictures. Do you have any suggestions? I wanted them to look true to the color.

Funk French Butterfly

I just love non traditional french manicures. They can be fun, unique and super stylish. I tried a curved tip using tape and I kinda like it. Stamped a butterfly and voila. Me gusta! Do you stick with traditional french tips or do you risk on other shapes and colors?
For the tips one I used a brazilian polish Risqué Carmen. It's a very dark opaque purple. I'll do a swatch wearing just it one of these days.
I just apologize for my grown cuticles. I got in a challenge to not nip them off and so far I am holding myself back with my tools. It's been a month already. They don't look horrible in my opnion but they also don't look great. But oh well, it's just been so easy to change nail polish colors without having to take your cuticles off every time you do them. One more month and I'll share w/ you guys my own experience with it.
