What a funny week

This week has already been a very strange week for me, firstly i'm home alone all week. Paul is away for work, Abi is in Cologne for half Term with my Sister in Law & Brother In law & Dan although he hasn't lived at home for two & a half years is over In America with the Company he is working for during his year in industry whilst doing his Degree. I too was supposed to be in Germany with Stampin' Up from Tomorrow, but sadly missed out as the places filled up in record time, So I have the next six days off work & intend to make the most of them.

As if all of that isn't unusual enough in this ever busy household I went to a haunted Inn at Bungay on Monday night to do some Paranormal Investigating. The Inn which I wont name was strange, it was a huge building date back many hundreds of years, but we were the only 3 members of the public in the bars, which I guess for a Monday night maybe wasn't so strange. But when we walked in it was like walking into a movie set where they had the remnants of the set from the Adams family & Scooby Doo a scary Movie ! We kept lifting up the net curtains to make sure that the dry cleaners across the road was still there & we hadn't entered a parallel dimension, because it sure felt weird.

After the guided tour we were free to wander round unaccompanied, we did some experiments and took some readings & at one stage the EMF meter went off the scale & the temperature reading dropped by 20 degrees, The readings cannot be explained, but I felt nothing except incredibly cold, usually I have experienced strange noises like a skipping rope swishing or the smell of Lavender or the smell of cookies baking & even on one occasion I found tears streaming from my eyes for no apparent reason, looked round & two other women in the group were experiencing exactly the same thing, but I can truthfully say that all I felt was cold. I wonder if we were invited for publicity purposes & the characters in the bar were genuine employees. Maybe I will never know but it did take me hours to get warm again when I got home.

Well I intend  to make the most of my time home alone and get Christmas samples made, some crochet for the blanket i'm making done and also some sewing. I intend to make some Christmas Bunting & also some felt decorations for the Christmas tree I usually have in my hall, although I do need to find a new slimline tree this year as my black Fibre optic tree died last year. I think the felt decorations are the wisest choice as the two youngest cats are such characters i'm sure the tree will be decorated & re-decorated many times before the big day.

Well so far today I have managed a couple of cards & a small garland which id currently drying, so here are the cards I'm sharing today.
Back out with the scentsational seasons set today after finding some amazing inspiration on the internet.

Well we are nearly at the end of another month, Have you started your Christmas cards yet?
If not I'm running a Christmas card Making class on a Thursday night during November & Early December, drop me a line for further details.

Are you feeling Festive yet?

Have you started your Christmas cards yet?

I know many of the Ladies that I see have started making their Christmas cards, some are even more than half way through their cards.

As for me I've started making mine, I have sketches ready for some more, but I have a bit of a problem, I just love the scentsational seasons stamp set & the co-ordinating framelits. so all of my cards at the moment are using the same set, even worse I am loving the new in-colours especially Gumball Green & Raspberry ripple.
I thought I would share with you some of the cards that I've made that fall into those two categories.

Three cards all in the same colour palette yet three totally different looks.

Check back tomorrow to see if I manage to find my way onto a different colour palette or even to dust off another stamp set.
Hugs until tomorrow

Holidays are coming

I haven't seen that advert yet but I know that the Holidays are coming. As soon as the Children all went back to school in September all the parents & grandparents that came into the store at work were all talking about Christmas & I know that will go up another gear at the end of October after half term & Halloween.
Also I keep having to hoover the floor in the craft room so I don't lose the kittens under a layer of glitter.
So with all things festive I thought I would share a few cards I have been making with my current favourite set & colour palette.

Snow festival DSP

Be of good cheer DSP

I am just loving the colour combination of Whisper white on Gumball Green & Raspberry Ripple, I will be back tomorrow with some more festive cards.

World card Making Day Event ~ Part 2

Can you guess which set the tree wreath comes from?

I am now fully rested &  un-packed from Saturdays Worlds Card making day event with Sharon on Saturday & as promised I will share with you the Christmas cards that we made in the afternoon session. The afternoon session went on until  5pm and over ran a little bit as we actually say down to eat lunch with our lovely ladies & listen to their thoughts on the newly released annual Stampin' Up catalogue. I think many of the ladies are as over whelmed as we were when we first saw it a month ago at the launch in Reading.

These trees are so sparkly made with Heat & stick powder & dazzling diamonds to bling them to the max.

So here are some of the cards that we made in the afternoon.

The first card is a swing card that looks far more complicated than it really is, after talking with a friend of mine and watching her make this card I realised just how simple this card is to design using the Framelits & she also gave me a couple of foolproof tips so I could share this card with you, I love this design, I think i will be trying it with some other stamp sets, s thank you Naomi.

The same card as above laying flat ready for posting.
Both Sharon & I would like to thank you if you attended our all day event to celebrate World Card Making day & of course the release of the new Annual Stampin' Up catalogue.

Our last all day event for 2012 is being held at Hethersett village hall on Saturday 1st December between 10 - 4ish. Places are filling up fast. This will be gifts & cards on the day, as requested by you. On the day there will also be the Draw draw for the Big Shot package.
Book your place now with either Sharon or Myself.

Stampers 10 ~ September

With the Children back at school, many of us turn our thoughts onto preparing for Christmas and one of the first tasks we usually start with is the handmade cards, we have so many to make that by starting early and make a few each week the task doesn't quite so huge.

This week at our stampers 10 meeting we used one of the new sets that will be in the forthcoming Annual catalogue available to order from 1st October.

The set I chose to share tonight is Scentsational Season with the co-ordinating Holiday Collection Framelits.

Two very different cards from a set that is one of my favourites.

Crafts are here

Crafts are here, crafts are there,

My craft supplies are everywhere.

I really should clean this mess,

but I like it I confess.

Floor is littered, chairs are piled,

Kitchen's looking pretty wild.

On the table, counter too,

Seems that any place will do.

Hall is stacked with cartons high,

filled with things folks like to buy.

Garage is full, but so far....

there's still room to park the car.

I never have an idle day,

New ideas come my way.

Don't know yet what I'll create,

but my imagination's great.

My family smiles, they don't complain,

although at times I am a pain.

but when all is said and done,

I really am a crafty one!
