Hubby's Birthday card

A couple of weeks ago it was Paul's Birthday whilst we were away on a break in Lincolnshire & being a typical me not only had I left the packing etc to the last minute the night before we went away I remembered that I hadn't made Paul's Birthday card, so a quick flick through some of my blog's  I landed on Monica's blog ......Whoo the perfect card.

Peach Parfait
Very Vanilla
Bashful Blue
Early espresso
Pear Pizzazz
Wild Wasabi

I hope you'll bear with me whilst I write my catch up posts that not only will be out of date order but a little bit late as well. Hence my new nickname LML which Hubby has named me, It stands for Last Minute Lisa...... My early new years resolution is to be more organised & write yet more lists & to complete tasks ahead of time & not at the very last minute.

I have Lens envy

I have a severe case of Lens envy today. Dan has just come back from the camera store with a new camera lens with his Birthday money from us & my Mum. It is a special lens for his dslr camera. 50mm f1.8 it is lovely & a great portrait lens so I have had a little play & love it......Hint hint Mr L.

An abundance of Birthday Bunting

In the making ~ all of the triangles cut & stitched together

When I looked at all of the triangles together I thought that I needed more variety so on Friday I went & bought 6 more fat quarters.
The fabrics are a mixture of Amy Butler & Heather Bailey.

Well as promised some pictures of my Amy butler bunting that I have made for Abi's birthday tomorrow.

I got a bit carried away, as many of you know spacial awareness & calculations of size of any sort are not my speciality so before I knew it I had made a stunning 25 metres of this beautiful bunting. At least I gave my Mum a good laugh as she has NEVER knon me to sew anything in my whole life. But since I've had my lovely little sewing machine I have been itching to make something. But now I have a seed of an idea i'm working on.

The bunting is all around the living room at the moment & there is enough for the pergola in the garden. I made a length especially for the porch & in stepped the spacial awareness problem again! ! dont laugh but it's 4 metres long, Paul reminded me that we only have an Average 4 bedroom house & not a mansion.

I have loved making the bunting & now looking for more fabrics.

Look what I woke up to today

Happy Birthday to me

This is what I woke up to this morning, Abi & Dan had set everything up last night after I had gone to bed.

I got a lovely new Pandora Bracelet one of the new style leather ones & two wooden beads that look really great with it.

A handmade scrapbook card with pictures of my nearest & dearest.

Cath Kidston notebooks & a cupcake pen.

I spotted this super cute cushion in a little shop in Norwich a couple of weeks ago & told Abi & she remembered.

The cushion came in a really lovely pink paper carrier bag that Abi had her eye on, she's a bag-a-holic. It didn't take long for the cats to recycle the bag as a new toy.
Abi you weren't quick enough.

As you can see from the pictures there was a major power struggle for the bag, which ws hilarious to watch.

During the day we went over to Yarmouth, A trip to Yarmouth isn't complete without chips on the market & a trip to the craft shop, jamie had advertised on his facebook page that they had a new delivery which includes scoring boards, which I have desperate for So a quick little message & he saved me one, the wonders of social networking still amaze me.
The chips as usual were wonderful. I even managed to get a new bead for my pandora bracelets that I have been after for ages an Ice cream cone.

The evening too was great & we had a lovely family meal cooked again by Abi & assisted by Dan. A lovely vegetarian mexican as Tina & Allan had come over & the evening ended with the obligatory glasses of wine & murdering a few songs on Lips.

Yay!!!! Lots of handmade cards for me

It's my birthday today and I have had all handcrafted cards, as some of you know I work in the art & craft department of a large independent department store. I usually make the cards for colleagues birthdays , so nobody could decide who should make my birthday card, so they solved the problem by everyone making a card of their own, I was really touched as some people had never made a card before, I hope they don't blame me if they now get hooked on card making.

Crafts are here

Crafts are here, crafts are there,

My craft supplies are everywhere.

I really should clean this mess,

but I like it I confess.

Floor is littered, chairs are piled,

Kitchen's looking pretty wild.

On the table, counter too,

Seems that any place will do.

Hall is stacked with cartons high,

filled with things folks like to buy.

Garage is full, but so far....

there's still room to park the car.

I never have an idle day,

New ideas come my way.

Don't know yet what I'll create,

but my imagination's great.

My family smiles, they don't complain,

although at times I am a pain.

but when all is said and done,

I really am a crafty one!
