Make it Sparkle at Joanna Sheen

Good morning Everyone,
I hope you are all having a lovely weekend.
We took Emma and Tom to see Frozen at the cinema on Friday night - We were just going with a couple of friends but ended up with 20 kids and 10 adults!! What a brilliant film! The animation is just astounding. We all loved it! It's well worth seeing if you get the chance.

Anyway, I need to tell you about our midway reminder for the Joanna Sheen Challenge which is ....
                                             MAKE IT SPARKLE
I've used a gorgeous image from the House Mouse CD but the photo doesn't show off the card properly. It looks much better in RL, but no matter how many photo's I took the camera seems to want to change the colours!!
I've used a Marriane Creatables Tree die and snowflake die and lots and lots of glitter! The pearls and ribbons are from my stash and the sentiment tags are from Lili of the Valley.

We also have some very sad news for you.
This is the very LAST challenge on the Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog.
Unfortunately Joanna Sheen has decided to close the challenge blog. It is such a shame as I know that many of you love to enter this challenge. I for one will miss being part of a fabulous design team, but I am lucky to have made some lovely friends there.
It would be lovely to see lots of you enter this last challenge and make it a good one. Don't forget there is £30 voucher for one lucky winner

Thanks for taking the time to visit me and for all your lovely comments.

I've used a Marianne Creatables Button flower die, A Marianne ivy die and a Spellbinders edgeablility die.

Now, if you check out all the work of my brilliant teammates, you will see that they all managed to use real buttons on their projects.  The last time I saw my jar of buttons, Emma was using them to help with some Maths homework..then she hoarded them...I can't find them anywhere! Rather than get stressed out I used a Marianne die instead!
Don't forget there's a fabulous £15 voucher for the Joanna Sheen website for the winner, so well worth entering.

Out of the Box!

Hello Everyone,
When Paula asked me to do a tutorial for the Joanna Sheen Challenge blog...I almost has a heart attack..then went into a complete head spin and total PANIC!!! When I finally calmed down I chose the 'Out of the Box technique' as a topic, and here it is.

Out of the Box technique
This is a very useful technique to use when your image doesn’t quite fit into the area you want it to or if you particularly want a bit of it to show ‘outside’ the area.
I started by printing off an image from the gorgeous Shirley Barber CD, which is available from the Joanna Sheen website.

I wanted to cut this image out using a Classic Circle Spellbinders die, and have the top rose buds peaking out above the circle. To do this, place the die on the page where you want it, and with a pencil draw a line on the inside of the die.

Using scissors or a knife cut down into the image around all the parts that are outside the circle.

Slot these pieces through the centre of your die and line it up with the pencil lines you have drawn.
The sharp cutting edge of your die should be facing downwards so those pieces of paper that are lying on top of the die will not be cut when you run it through your cutting machine.

Fix the die in place with easy lift tape and run it through your cutting machine.

Cut away the excess bits of paper from the image.

You should be left with a perfect circle and part of your image ‘outside’ the circle. Don’t forget to rub out your pencil lines!
I used this technique when I made the following card using the fabulous Shirley Barber CD.

I hope you have found this useful.

Well it's my gorgeous little girls 6th birthday today so I need to go and prepare her party food and play a few games!! lol It doesn't seam 2 minutes since she was born!
Have a lovely day and I'll be round to visit you later.
