Well here we go - my last blog post for Make it Crafty. Zoe has made the hard decision to close Make it Crafty so she can concentrate on her photography & other things. I know I won't be the only one to thank her from the bottom of my heart for creating Make it Crafty & sharing her love & talent with us. Make it Crafty has been a huge part of my crafting life - I can't even remember how long I've been a fan, but it's years.
Being a member of the DT has been such an honour. Zoe was amazing and the various members of the DT over the years have been amazing. I've made lifelong friends through this DT. Some of the Challenge themes literally had me quacking in my boots & gave me nightmares, but Zoe helped us push those boundaries & following her lead developed my colouring skills so much. It's been an incredible team to be part of.
So to send Make it Crafty out with a bang we're having one final DT Blog Hop. We're featuring three beautiful new fairies - and the great news is that you will get these fairies free if you place an order in the Make it Crafty Store before it closes. They'll automatically be added to your order - no need to add them to your cart.
Make sure to purchase any digis, rubber stamps, chippies or colouring tutorials before they're gone for good & make triple sure you've backed them up (in several places if possible) as once the store is gone you won't be able to retrieve them if your computer crashes.
Details of the Blog Hop & a chance to win a surprise in the post from Zoe are at the bottom of the post.
I chose the lovely Princess Fairy & decided she ought to be nestled in a Christmas Tree as it's that time of year. I've never created a Christmas tree from scratch before, but I think it looks ok.
Here's a close up of Princess Fairy. She looks so happy & serene - not worried by the occasional craziness of Christmas at all.
Always hard to capture on camera, but I added plenty of sparkles - what fairy is complete without a good sprinkle of shimmer. I used Wink of Stella & some metallic gel pens.
I love MIC Chippies so much. They really add a finishing touch to any card. I coloured them with copics, Wink of Stella & Gold gel pen to give plenty of sparkle.
I layered them up with the 'Wishes' half layered on top of the 'Christmas'. I love the dimension it gives.
Digi - Princess Fairy from Make it Crafty
Chippies - Christmas Layered Word
Copics
Skin - E00, E000, E21, E11, E04 with R20 Cheeks
Hair - Y11, Y15, Y17, Polychromo pencils

Tree - Various greens including G82, G67, G69, G99, G14, G17
I really hope you like her & enjoy the hop.
To be in with a change of a surprise in the post from Zoe leave a comment at every step of the hop. The thing I'd love to hear is your favourite Make it Crafty Memory.
Winner will be drawn on Sunday 1st Dec.
Zoe thank you so much for having me as part of your DT.
It's been such an honour & meant the world to me.
Here's the Blog Hop List:
Lucy (yep that's me - You Are Here!)
Cute card! I love the chippies as an accent!
ReplyDeleteOh that's beautiful, I love the way you have done the Christmas tree it is very effective. My most memorable MIC moment was the story we all did on the Facebook group. It was so funny to read and fun to add little bits to. I also got chosen at random to win a prize from it which was amazing
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. Your colouring is wonderful especially designing the background
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing how you executed every challenge Zoe put in front of you. You always managed to knock them out of the park and provided me with great amounts of inspiration over the years. Trying to decide my favourite MIC memory is a hard one, I think it would have to be colouring one of the little houses no lines and the support I gained from everyone while I was working on it. It makes me smile every time I see it
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card and lovely colours. Hugs Lucy x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty card. I looked at this and it reminds me of an angel on top of a Christmas tree...and adding the pine boughs behind is a great idea! Pretty card!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite MIC memory is when I asked Zoe for advice coloring platinum blonde hair and she not only gave me the advice ... she put it in a video!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love how Zoe did the video for Jennifer's bootcamp - the way she explained the pleats - made so much sense
ReplyDeleteThis fairy in the Christmas tree is a great idea. Well sad to see MIC close. I have several of her pretty rubberstamps but I think I have a nice memory when I finally managed to colour up one of the pretty long haired stampies, they were such a nice way to practice Copic colouring. Hugs Blankina

ReplyDeleteI just love the fairy's hair. I love the long flowing, wavy locks and the simple color is perfect. I think you have done amazing with the tree; I would not have known it was done from scratch if you had not mentioned it. I Love it! SO sad MIC is closing I have enjoyed everything about it. Zoe is truly amazing! and all the inspirational cards were fabulous examples for us to try to make ourselves.
ReplyDeleteI have missed seeing your beautiful colouring. Always the CAS queen to me!

I love the soft colors of this. My favorite memory...that is hard one for me. Finding MIC just when I started with Copics and all the times I listened to Zoe talk. I love her accent and how the Aussies say whist instead of with. I will hold all these memories close to my heart.
