A little Tiddly Ink Fairy Flying By to Say Hi

Here's a little fairy flying by for Fab Friday with Tiddly Inks. I was asked to make a fairy card for a lovely little girl who receives cards from behind the fairy door & I thought Greeting Fairy from Tiddly Inks was perfect for the role.

Here's her close up. Another of the little girl's favourite things is sparkle so I added more than a liberal sprinkle of fairy dust! As always it never really shows up in photos.

Shimmer & sparkle on the sentiment too!

Blog Hop! Celebrating Friendships with a hot cuppa!

It's time for a Tea, Coffee and Friendship Blog Hop with Make it Crafty. You should have come to me from Delphine. If you've not come from the beginning start here

Sadly, many of my closest friends live so far away from me that I don’t get the opportunity to sit across the table and laugh over a cuppa so instead I chat on Facebook & create cards & have a virtual cuppa whenever I can. I do love it when I get a chance for a face to face catch up.

So with that in mind, this month we are inspiring you with some gorgeous images illustrated by Krista Smith and a whole range of new chipboard designs relating to Friends, Coffee & Tea!

Please join us on the hop and leave a comment at each stop. Zoe will be picking two random winners from the comments. Winners will be announced and contacted Sunday 25th so get your hopping boots on!

Here's what I created - I chose one of the variations of Coffee and Yarn for my card and paired her with one of the new Chipboard sentiments - Sending a Big Hug.

I've always loved the images by Krista Smith & love that some of them are now available through Make it Crafty. So many layers and details & folds and all that hair! I cropped her down for the card & coloured her with my Copics. A quick finish with some Glossy Accents on her glasses & some Gold pen on her coffee cup & she was done.

The new chipboard sentiments from Make it Crafty are amazing! I love all the detail Zoe has included in them. I coloured the 'Sending' in Gold Pilot Super Gel Pen & the 'A Big Hug' in red Copic. It makes it look as though it's multidimensional even though it's flat. I finished it with Glossy Accents to really make it pop.

Copics Used:
Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04 with R20 Cheeks

I hope it's made you smile. I now have a sudden craving for coffee - don't know about you!

Hope you enjoy the Hop. Don't forget to start at the beginning of the list & leave a comment on every step for 10 chances to win. Here's a peek at the prizes!

A Chipboard Birthday Card with Make it Crafty

One of the things I love about Make it Crafty Chippies is that they let me make a really quick card that has a really big impact!

This card was really easy to make. I used Salty Ocean & Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks to colour the card, then ran it through the Shimmering Stars Embossing Folder from Creative Expressions. I used the Platinum All Purpose ink from Stampin Up that I've had in the drawer for ages to add some highlight to the embossed stars. I used an ink dabber to apply it, but next time I may try a brayer as it caught the background a little more than I hoped it would. I added some Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen to the stars to add extra sparkle.

I love the effect I get by adding a double layer of Wow Super Fine Embossing powder to the chipboard. It makes it look almost like molten metal. This is the Wow Metallic Silver Super Fine. I coloured the base layer with B39 Copic.

When I make it next time (yes I'm already planning on making extra versions of this card) I might try edging the card layers with some of the silver, but other than that I really love how this card ended up.

Love with Tiddly Inks

It's time for a new challenge over at Tiddly Inks & this month the theme is 'Love'.  I love this theme as it gives me a chance to play with Wryn Have Heart! I love her so much!

I added some of the extra hearts & the 'Love you' Sentiment then typed the extra bit to add to the sentiment. It made me chuckle as we so often hold our arms out when saying 'thiiiiiiisssssssss much' ...... or is that just me?
Here's Wryn Have Heart's close up. Can I have hair like hers when I grow up please?!

I added glossy accents to the hearts and Sakura Stardust Gel pen, then several layers of Clear Sakura Glaze pen to the words to make them pop.

I hope she's made you smile. Come along & join in the 'Love' Challenge at Tiddly Inks.

'Add Details with Black Pen' - Colouring Challenge with Make it Crafty

'Add Details with Black Pen' ..... ok so I'll freely admit that this challenge from Make it Crafty has me panicking. Adding details to digis seemed so alien (and so above my skill level!). It's something I've never done as many digi artists ask you not to do so - so make sure you check with the artist before doing it.

With a few gentle (and not so gentle) nudges from Zoe I put my big girl pants on it and went for it.

This is the result - a rather funky plaid coat and spotty boots & scarf for Bethany Winter Jacket from Make it Crafty. It's amazing what you can do when you give something a go!

Here's the steps I went through.
First of all I printed Bethany Winter Jacket and got my tools ready - a pencil (no laughing at my Minion Pencil - it makes me smile!) and 0.1 & 0.5 Letraset Fineliners. These are fine black pens with ink that doesn't react to Copic ink.

I drew on the patterns I wanted with my pencil to check what it looked like.

Then inked it with my fineliners. I also checked the placement of my chippies for the sentiment.

Then on with the colouring (and the realisation that plaid is super tricky to colour at the best of times ..... why on earth did I choose that???!!!! - super extra crazy eh?). Here's a couple of close ups.

I coloured the chippies with Copic and then topped with Glossy Accents. I double embossed the top layer of 'Hugs' with Wow Rich Gold Super Fine Embossing Powder and added a layer of Glossy Accents over the top so it had the same sheen as the Adapt-a-words

I really hope you like the end result. Here she is in her entirety again.
