A 3D Aquarium with Make it Crafty

My friend asked me to make a gift card for her husband's 40th birthday as she was planning a surprise trip to the Aquarium as part of his birthday surprise. Not a problem I thought - Under the Sea Elements from Make it Crafty to the rescue! I combined them with a Bendy card design from Birds Cards I've used a few times.

I don't think she was expecting a whole aquarium when she asked me!

 Here's the back.

Here's the inside of the aquarium.

I added some Wink of Stella to give that underwater shimmer.

I hope you like it. I know he did when he received it.

It's Festival Season at Saturated Canary

It's festival season here in the UK. The Download rock Festival was last weekend (and was a washout with flash floods and thunderstorms). Glastonbury is coming up and there are all sorts of small local festivals and village fetes. I couldn't resist colouring Pillow Coffee from Saturated Canary as she looks as though she could quite happily be at a festival!

Isn't she gorgeous!

I used Sakura Glaze pens on the fairy lights and over the printed letters.
I love the effect it gives.

A Sheepish Birthday Card

Have you taken advantage of the wonderful digis in this month's 'Old Favourites' over at Make it Crafty? They're a selection of digis at very reduced prices. The new ones launch in a few days so make sure you grab these before they go back up to full price!

I've used Sheepish Rainbow and tried the funky sentiment idea that I've seen Zoe and Andrea using.

I made this by printing and colouring the image and then cutting the sentiment out on my Silver Bullet Cutting Machine. I then cut several more of the same sentiment out of plain white card and layered them up under the coloured sentiment.

Viewed straight on the sentiment almost disappears - but at an angle you can see how much dimension there is. I love this effect! Thank you Zoe & Andrea for inspiring me to try it.

Here's a close up of those sheepish sheep.

Water with Make it Crafty

It's challenge time over at Make it Colourful Challenges and this month it's a nice easy theme - Water! There are so many ways you could get water into a picture - the sea, a lake, a puddle, some water in a glass to drink - so many options so come along and join in - we'd love to see you.

I decided to play with one of the lovely mermaids. I just love Make it Craft Mermaids! I've got a bit of an addiction! This beauty is Mermaid Viviane and she's chatting to one of the Koi Fish. I used the techniques in the Fun Techniques for Colouring Skies Ebook to create the sea - who knew similar techniques could create a sky or the sea!

Here's  Mermaid Viviane's close up. I've added some Wink of Stella to her scales & tail - because every self respecting mermaid is shimmery aren't they!

The border was a freebie from here.

Here's my Koi Fish. I coloured him with my Copics and then added Cosmic Shimmer to add some shimmery colour.

I really hope you like my creation. I'd love to see you come across and join in the Water Challenge at Make it Colourful Challenges

Lisa's New Stamps on Creative Expressions

I've totally fallen in love with the new stamps Lisa Horton from Creative Expressions has launched today on Hochanda. I've been lucky enough to play with them today.
This is what I've created using Copic Refills and Rubbing Alcohol.
Simple and Easy but effective.

KennyK's Bathing Beauty with Petal Lu

It's time for a new challenge in Club KennyK and this time I've combined the KennyK newsletter Freebie with a lovely flower from Petal Lu for the Petal Lu Challenge (you did know you get a freebie each month for signing up to the KennyK newsletter).

Here's Bathing Beauty from KennyK with a beautiful small bloom from Petal Lu's Lucky Dip Collection. It was actually the bloom that determined the colour of her swim suit!

Here's her close up. How gorgeous is she!

I coloured her with my Copics

Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04 with R20 Cheeks
Hair - Y11, YR04, YR07, E08, E19
Swim suit - YG03, YG63, YG67, YG69, G28

I really hope you'll come over and join us in both challenges
