Lace and Pearls with KennyK

There's wonderful news from the KennyK family. Little Miss KennyK has arrived :D
Huge Congratulations!!!

Now to business - the new Challenge at KennyK's Krafty Krew.
This fortnight the challenge is Lace and Pearls
This one had me coming out in a cold sweat I must admit! I love pearls and lace but really struggle to make anything with them.
It's good to challenge myself so I made this fun Wedding Card.

I used Wedding Dance. It's such a fun image.

I coloured them with my Copics
Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04 with R20 Cheeks
His Hair - Y11, Y15, Y17, YR24
Her Hair - E23, E25, E27, E29, E49
His Tux - N3, N5, N7, N9
His Shoes - C3, C5, C7, C9
Her Dress - E81
Bowtie - R81, R83, R85

I added some Ribbons and lace ribbon. I coloured the white ribbon and lace with my R83 so they co-ordinated with the rest of the card,
I added a row of pearls along the ribbon and in the corners of the card.

The backing paper is from the Prima Jodie Lee Designs Fairy Belle Collections 6x6 paper pad.

I really hope you like it xxx

Think Pink with Digi Galore

It's my turn for a mid inspiration post for Digi Galore Challenges.
The theme this month is Think Pink and we're sponsored by The East Wind.
I love the images from The East Wind so had fun colouring this one.

This image is Aurora Floral Kiss

I'm afraid I forgot to write down the Copic Colours I used. I think these are right, but I'm not 100% sure.

Saturated Canary Lisa Little Fairy

Why oh why do I never think about how challenging something will be to photograph before making it? It doesn't matter as I know the little girl I made it for is going to love having it on her wall, but I wish it showed up as well in the photos as it does in real life. I'll never learn though and will continue to have fun playing :P

I was inspired to make this by the floating frames the lovely Shell of Fairydust Designs by Shell makes and sells. As you all know by now I'm in love with the fairys from Saturated Canary so decided to use Lisa Little Fairy to make this gift for a little girl who loves fairies. She is also my entry into the Winter GDT call. I had such a wonderful time on the SC GDT that I couldn't resist applying again. I know it's very unlikely - but you've got to try eh.

The floating frames are made of two sheets of glass so do just what they say - things appear to be floating, You can see from the photo behind that you can see through them. On the wall you get a lovely shadow - unfortunately I don't have any decent plain walls to take a photo against to show it properly.

I designed the sentiment and cut it from black & sparkly glitter vinyl.

Here's Lisa Little Fairy's close up.

I coloured her with my Copics:
Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04 with R20 Cheeks
Hair - E23, E25, E27, E29, E49
Dress - R24, R27, R29, R59, W7, Wink of Stella
Tights - Reds as Dress, C1, C3, C5
Wings R20, R21, R22, Stickles Startdust
Bag - E21, E23, E25, E27
Sparkles - Y00, Y02, Y17

I really hope she's bought a smile to your face

Bright Colours with Make it Crafty Make it Colourful.

It's time for a new challenge at Make it Crafty's Make it Colourful.
This month the theme is  Bright Colours.
I love using bright colours so this was a fun challenge for me.
This is my first month taking part in the challenge as a DT Special Guest so I'm really excited.

My nephew celebrated his birthday recently and being an avid game player I thought Gamer Dad was perfect for his card. He's a well developed 14 year old who is going on 6ft so I went for Gamer Dad rather than Gamer Boy.

2015.09.11 - MIC Gamer Dad 1

I used the digital version of the Carta Bella Boy Oh Boy paper collection. I thought the gaming images and bright colours were just perfect for this card. I've matted and built up the layers and added glossy accents to elements on the papers and Sakura Glaze pen to the words that I typed.

2015.09.11 - MIC Gamer Dad 4

Here's Gamer Dad's Close up

2015.09.11 - MIC Gamer Dad 2

I coloured him with my Copics:
Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04 with a touch of R20 on his cheeks
Hair - E30, E31, E33, E35
T-Shirt - YR12, YR15, YR16, YR18, E08, E19, E18
Trousers - B21, B24, B26, B28, B93, B99
Game Controller - N3, N5, R27, R29, Y02, Y08, G14, G28, B24, B29

I hope he's made you smile. Can't wait to see your Brightly Coloured Creations at Make it Colourful

Happy Anniversary with Make it Crafty

Hi it's Lucy here with my first ever project shared on the Make it Crafty Inspiration Blog!
Am I excited? Oh yes just a little bit!
I still can't believe I've been asked to be a Special Guest with this amazing group of crafters.

So here we go - my first creation. It's very close to my heart as it's the card I made for my Husband on our 5th Wedding Anniversary this week.

2015.09.09 - MIC Penny & Scott Cuddle 1

I wanted to make him something really personal so coloured Penny & Scott to look a little like us
(ok a little artistic license taken here and there).

Here's a close up.

2015.09.09 - MIC Penny & Scott Cuddle 2

I created the clouds myself through a little trial and error. The sentiment was typed on my laptop.

Here's what I've created using Come Fly With Me Buttonbox Fairy.

I created the background using Brushos (which That Craft Place are now stocking). They're great fun to use & give such vibrant colour!

I typed the sentiment. It ended up slightly faded when I spritzed the Brushos with water that had mica powder in it so it gives a shimmer.

Here's a close up of Come Fly With Me Buttonbox Fairy from That Craft Place Etsy Store.

I hope you like her.

Halloween with Through the Purple Haze Challenges

It's October so it's time for Halloween. It's a bit early I know, but this project was too good not to share & anyway Halloween can start a little early eh?

Our theme for this month's Through the Purple Haze Challenge is Halloween & we're sponsored by The East Wind. I've wanted to colour Lucy Loo Spellbound for ages & this was my opportunity, and Oh I had fun!!!!

I coloured Lucy Loo Spellbound with my Copics and made the background with Brusho Crystals.
I've wanted Brushos for about 18 months and finally got some. This was my first try playing with them and oh I loved them! They're the total opposite to my normal style of crafting  freestyle, unpredictable & messy - but I did enjoyed playing.
I was intending only using part of this sheet, but the whole A4 looked so like a potion brewing and effervescing that I decided to leave it whole.

Here's a close up of Lucy Loo Spellbound. I coloured her with my Copics and tried to add a touch of greeny yellow light to her face to look as though the spell book was glowing. It doesn't show up brilliantly in the photos, but in real life it's quite striking.

Here's where I played with the Brushos. I sprinkled Black, Yellow and Bright Red crystals and then spritzed with water.
I really love the effect & love how the colours bloom from tiny crystals that look like nothing.
I also think it's great how some of the crystals didn't quite dissolve so give a slight textured finish - it feels like there's real substance to the spell explosion.

Lucy Loo Spellbound is now in pride of place on my wall.
I hope you like her as much as I do.

I'd like to enter her into the following challenges:
The East Wind - Add Texture (texture in the part-hydrated Brusho Crystals) (10th Oct)
