Anything Goes with Through the Purple Haze Challenges

It's time for our challenge at Through the Purple Haze Challenges and we've got a change coming up - from now on our challenges will run once a month rather than once a week. From May we'll start them on the 1st of each month.

This time we've got two great sponsors - Eiglassing Digis and Aspire Crafts

My first creation is using Eiglassing's Dennis the Sad Dragon.

I thought it was an appropriate image as Anita who co-set up Through the Purple Haze Challenges  has decided to step down so I've made her this as a farewell from her DT.

I coloured him with my Copics.

Look! Poor Dennis is actually crying! Well with the help of glossy accents he is.

I hope Anita likes him when she receives him.
Thanks for creating a wonderful Challenge Blog and DT and good luck in the future.

My Other Creation this week is a gift set using some of the Lovely in Lace card set from Aspire Crafts

I was initially at a bit of a loss over what to make with these sheets as it was so far away from what I normally do, but I pulled out my Hougie Mini Masterpieces book and inspirations struck - several times in fact so I ended up making a Gift set containing a card, mini treat holder, corner bookmark and double photo frame.

A funky folded card from the Hougie Mini Masterpieces Book.

I added Glossy Accents to the flower on the tag & used a bulldog clip with a ribbon bow attached as the fastener.

Double Photo Frame - from the depths of my own convoluted brain - I just made this one up.
I mounted the frames on a double layer of foam tape so there's room for photos to slip in.

I added Glossy Accents to the central circle and mounted the design on silver card.

Happy Easter with That Craft Place

There's a party going on over at That Craft Place and Passionate Paper Creations this weekend - and it's s colouring party! Lots of inspiration using the lovely digis from That Craft Place and there's a discount code and a competition with great prizes. Come on over and join in the fun.

If you've not already discovered Passionate Paper Creations it's a great Facebook group with colouring tutorials, inspiration and a range of great sponsors.

Here's what I created using Sugar Jump and one of the Easter Theme Scrabble Sentiments.

I used the Carina Gardner Jelly Bean Hop papers as they had a nice Easter theme and mounted Sugar Jump on an Easter Egg inspired oval.

I coloured  Sugar Jump with my Copics.

Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04 with R20 Cheeks
Hair - RV63, RV66, RV69, Sakura Stardust Gel Pen
Top - Y11, Y15, Y17, YR24, E33
Shorts - YG06, YG09, G29, W7

I love these Scrabble Sentiments and love that you can buy the complete alphabet so make your own sentiments too.

I really hope you like my creation. Don't forget to come over and join in the fun at Passionate Paper Creations

Happy Birthday card for my Husband

It was my Husband's birthday recently and I used Col. Macallan from KennyK Downloads to make a card for him. He's got a real soft spot for dogs so this was the perfect choice.

I kept the card plain and simple. The base is Kraft Cardstock, the birthday paper is a digi paper from Pink Petticoat that came free with a magazine in the UK recently. I printed it in Orange as that's his favourite colour and mounted it on gold cardstock.

I used a thin strip of corrugated cardboard and added some distress inks to highlight the ridges.

I coloured Col. Macallan  with my Copics. I tried to give him a bit of texture like hair, but not too much as Bulldogs are fairly smooth coated. I used Copics E42, E42, E45 & E47 for his coat & E23, E25, E27 & E29 for his leatherwork & a gold gel pen for the metalwork.

I really hope you like him. Luckily my hubby did (along with the Coffee birthday cake & a couple of Freddie King CD's).

A new KennyK Digi

Woo hoo! Another amazing new release from KennyK!!!!

This time it's two new sporty boys - Basketball Star and Batter Up.

The theme at KennyK's Krafty Krew is Fancy Folds so my Hougie Board & the Mini Masterpieces book came out to make this Side Stepper card.

From the side you can see I added an extra Fancy Fold by making two folded springs from card to make Basketball Star pop out of the card.

Here's Basketball Star. He was such a dream to colour. He really looks like he's about to bounce that ball (and from that you can tell the extent of my knowledge about Basketball :P )

I hope you come over and share your KennyK love and fancy folds at  KennyK's Krafty Krew.

St David's Day with KennyK

The theme for this week's Through the Purple Haze Challenge is St David's Day so we had to go for something Welsh inspired.

Our sponsor this week is the wonderful KennyK and I chose to use Dragon Rider.
It's a bit of a scary digi, but once I got colouring I was fine.

My creation ended up a lot bigger than intended - it's 22cm square! Whoops that's not being sent on a card so it became a display plaque.

The Frame is the Celtic Frame Card from the Silhouette Store. I love the simplicity of this design and thought it worked perfectly with the detailed image.

Here's Dragon Rider in all her glory.

I coloured her with my Copics

Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04 with R20 Cheeks
Hair - Y11, Y15, Y17, YR24, E35
Outfit (what there is of it!!) R35, R37, R39, R59, W7 & Gold Gel Pen
Dragon - YR23, YR25, G14, G17, G29, W7, W9

The sentiment was a freebie from Create with TLC a while ago.

I really hope you like what I've created.

Mother's Day/ One for the Girls at Digi Galore

Time for a new challenge at Digi Galore.

With Mother's Day coming up in the UK I thought I'd be organised (for once) and get ahead of the game.

This is what I made with Craft Star from Kenny K. Yes that's right - one of my favourite Digi Artists sponsoring one of my favourite challenge blogs (and come back tomorrow for more treats).

I kept the card clean and simple as I wanted the image being the main focus.

I coloured Craft Star with my Copics

Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04 with R20 Cheeks
Hair - E42, E43, E45, E47, E49, E23
Top - RV06,
Apron -
Jeans - BV23, BV25, BV27, BV29

The Sentiment is from Pink Petticoat and I added the words 'Handmade of Course' at the bottom.
I drew over the words Mother's Day with my Sakura Stardust pen to give it a hint of shimmer.

I really hope you like it. Check back tomorrow for some more Kenny K love.

Whoop Whoop a New Challenge!

Woo Hoo! It's time for the launch of a new challenge!

Sugar and Bettys Challenge Blog

Sugar and Betty Challenges is linked to the wonderful That Craft Place - a bricks and mortar craft shop in the UK who also have a range of digi stamps in their Etsy Store.

Many of the digis feature Sugar or Betty. I think you'll see them appearing loads on my blog in the future.

The Theme is Anything Goes so nice and easy.

Here's what I've made.

I used the Echo Park Paper Co. Paper & Glue digi kit . It's actually a slightly cheating card as it's all digitally layered. I added the layers and shadows using Craft Artist 2 and printed it out before colouring Copic Betty. It really doesn't look like a completely flat card does it?

I coloured Copic Betty with my Copics

Skin - E000, E00, E11, E21, E04 with R20 Cheeks
Hair - E21, E23, E27, E29, E49
Top - R35, R37, R39, R59, W7
Trousers - BV23, BV25, BV29
Boots - E73, E75, E77, E79
Laces - G14, G17, G29
Pens - Various

It's hard to see in the photos but I coloured a lot of the pens with Sakura Tiara pens to give them a shimmer. I added some shimmer to her hair bows and boot laces too.

The sentiment was a freebie a while ago from Create with TLC

I really hope you like her & look forward to seeing your Anything Goes entries
