Clean Cabin

As many of you know our log cabin is a weekend place for our family. When we get ready to leave, I clean that place inside and out. I mop the floors, wash the rugs, dust every nook and cranny - you name it! I love the feeling of when I come back the following weekend and the place is spic and span. Now for my downstate home...well lets just say it's not given the same treatment. (I was about to say I treat it like a stepchild but then I remembered I have a stepson - ha,ha! Never mind, some of you won't think that is funny. But some of you might...Suz??)

Now the one thing I don't like to pick up (and make Greg and my stepson do cuz I am the evil stepmother) - DOG POOP! Yep, everyone is running from me now...

Log Mill

I recently attended training for the new log home company I joined - Expedition Log Homes. One of my favorite parts of the trip was seeing the logs prepared at the mill. I'm a log junkie so it would be like a candy junkie being locked in a Hershey's chocolate plant!

Check out these beautiful pine logs....

I really wished someone would've let me drive this truck! I would've been cornering on rails at 80 mph! (Just kidding!)

This is our new dealer group watching the logs being loaded to be debarked.

Pine log being debarked.

These are half logs being prepared. (Expedition offers full log and half log homes.) I wish someone would've let me operate this machine..... (I'm sure my hubby warned them all ahead of time. Don't let my crazy wife near big vehicles or complex machinery!)

This crew is working hard with a draw knife (all done by hand) on the logs to give them that handcrafted style. I would've wimped out after the first pull with the knife!

On the off chance some of my new friends from Expedition are reading this - thank you for the fellowship and thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience!

I miss my puppy!

We head back to Michigan on Saturday morning and I'm looking forward to seeing my puppy!

I have to say that Wisconsin is a beautiful state! I had such a great time at the log home training and meeting all the other people. (I recently joined Expedition Log Homes as a dealer. The previous company I worked for unfortunately went out of business.) I have some great mill photos to share with you later this week.

I had our breeder watch Scout and knew she would have a good time with the other dogs there. The above photo is of Scout greeting and kissing her mom. It was so sweet!

Looking forward to catching up with all of you! Let me know if I missed something major! (Betsy, Leedra and Mildred - weren't you glad you had a break from reading my 50 blogs? Ha,ha!)
