This is Eleanor

Eleanor Jaegler from Willow Hill Samplings is officially stitched. I finished her last night, and I wanted to get it posted this morning so all could see her! I have to say stitching on the 48ct was a bit overwhelming at first (what did I get myself into?), but with my light I had no trouble. I might even consider another project on this count! Next I would like to try 45ct, and it is only a matter of time before I do.

I feel like working on my Village of Hawk Run Hollow next, I have 4 squares done, and I am itching to get it done already!!!! I like working on that piece because each square feels like I am starting a new project-- and we all know what that is like!! I am curious how many of you dont know what that is like!!!!! When I was working on the Black Forest piece, I was excited to work with the NPI again, I am always changing things and to work with what the pattern calls for is nice once in a while. I am happy with these colors. So let us see what the next week brings us!

Progress on my homework!

It has been quite some time since Eleanor Jaegler has seen the light of day (you can see the older post from April 8), and my homework needs to be done by the end of next week. I dug deep for her, and wanted to remind you what she looked like before I started working on her last night. I am stitching her on 48ct Light Examplar Linen from Lakeside, using 'Colorwash' Handpainted Japanese Silk; 1 strand over 2. I have never used this silk before, and so far no complaints!

I have added my scissors in the picture to give you an idea of her size. She is really quite lovely! I also wanted to tell you that my first Guild meeting on Tuesday night was a hit! I had such a great time, met so many wonderful people and saw a ton of gorgeous pieces during show and tell; also alot of beautiful WIP's. Hello to everyone that I met and thank you for such a warm welcome!!

My Homework

For the last few years, my friend Jeannine and I, have given each other homework assignments, to be completed in the next year. In the next year??!!! Yes!! A fun little project, we decide on the pattern, and each choose the linen and threads that we like. This past year the assignment was "Eleanor Jaegler Sampler" from Willow Hill Samplings. I chose to use Light Examplar 48ct from Lakeside Linens, with Colorwash Silk. Yes, you read correctly 48ct!! To show size, I have added a quarter to the picture, so you can see size! I am stitching it over 2, so it could be alot smaller!! I am enjoying this homework!
