Daisy - UmWow June Sketch Challenge

I've had this one on my "to do" list this month and got around to working on it yesterday and today.  I knew when I saw the  sketch at UmWowStudio I was going to follow the hexagon pattern on it, as I love UmWow's hexagon chipboard. I basically followed the sketch and knew I had the perfect picture for my layout, a daisy from a planter on my deck.  Now there is a story behind the planter.  I actually call it my "magical" planter, as none of the perennial plants in it I planted.  Years ago I would place some annuals in it and then stopped as I would always forget about the planter when it came to watering.   About five years ago plants appeared in the planter and have made their return every year.
I recently bought some Tim Holtz distress markers and used the Wild Honey one around my torn edges.  After I apply the marker, I dipped a paint brush in some water and and painted the edges to bring a little of the color into my white background and then inked it with some SEI bark ink.

Here is the June sketch from UmWow:

Here I used an UmWow butterfly chipboard which I stamped with a flower background from Dylusions Background Love stamps.  I then applied some yellow liquid applique. I also used the Dylusions stamp on parts of my background.

Here I used a UmWow daisy chipboard.
I painted the top of it with some Americana Marigold paint and then sprinkled on some yellow flock. I also watered down the marigold paint to add some splatters on my page.

A little cluster to top it off!

It was a hot and humid day today, perfect for staying indoors and crafting.  Thunderstorms are in the forecast for everyday this week and throughout the weekend.  It puts a damper on outdoor plans, but then again it's a good excuse to stay inside and create!

Zeus and Zoe Guest Designer!

I am so excited to be a Guest Designer for Zeus and Zoe this month!   Denise and Norma are hosting the June Challenge which is "My Favourite Things".  For those of you that know me, you know how much I love my flower gardens.  My favorite annual to plant is the Geranium, thus the star of my layout . . . This Makes Me Happy.

I used some beautiful papers from Bo Bunny's Prairie Chic collection.  Marivic, owner of Zeus and Zoe  and Berry71bleu, sent me a few goodies to work with.  One being the Emporium Tag die from Couture Creations.  Here I have used it in a few spots., along with a grid border chipboard from
 UmWow Studio.

I also worked with some Magical powder, Ghostly Gargoyle White by Lindy's Stamp Gang.  I mixed the power with some water and lightly brushed it on the little pink roses.

I did some background masking using the Circular Lattice mask by Prima along with some inks and misting.

Here is a closeup of my cluster and my pretty pink Geraniums:
