Uniko Studio Challenge - "Love and Friendship"

Grab button for Uniko Studio Challenge

This is my first entry into a Uniko Studio Challenge and Gillian Ross left a comment on my post for
CASology that I should enter this card for the Uniko Challenge, so this is what I am doing.
The stamp I used is an old SU! set, image and sentiment. I stamped and heat embossed the bird onto watercolor paper and used Distress Markers. I played with the ink on a craft mat and a brush filled with water. To intensify the color I ran the brush over the pen. A post last year by Bonnie Klass had pictures of birds taken in her yard and that is how I came about with this color combination. I trimmed the wc paper and punched the top and then mounted it with mounting tape onto a piece of confetti white cardstock. The sentiment was stamped with Versafine and heat embossed.

Stamp Set - SU! "Spring Song"
Paper - Canson Watercolor 90#, SU! Confetti White
Ink - Distress Markers, Versafine Onyx Black
Other - embossing powder, mounting tape, Notebook Paper Punch

NBUS & ATCAS: World

Never-Before-Used-Schtuff (Stamps, Dies, EFs, etc.)

For these two challenges I am using a NBUS stamp from MFT's set Up, Up & Away. The image was stamped and heat embossed and then colored with copics, I added Wink of Stella to the red band. The white embossed piece was in my UFO box so I trimmed it and then attached the balloon to the back with tape. This was attached to white card stock. The sentiment was stamped and embossed and cut with a SU! punch.

Stamp - MFT  "Up & Away," Unity "Follow You Around Globe" (sentiment)
Paper - Neenah
Ink - Versafine, Copics
Embossing Folder - Cuttlebug "Spots & Dots"

The Challenge #23

I think this is my first time submitting to The Challenge and I chose to use the sketch. I used a previously colored piece of paper that I demonstrated in a class I taught. This technique was to color a piece of white card stock with distress ink, spritz with water and then run through the cuttlebug while wet. I cut a strip and mounted it onto a piece of Bermuda Bay card stock. Then I die cut three hearts out of the same paper. The base of the card stock is Crushed Curry and I attached the strip and then mounted the hearts with mounting tape. The sentiment was stamped with Versafine.

Paper - SU! Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, white card stock
Ink - Distress Ink, Versafine
Embossing Folder - Sizzix Diamonds
Die Cut - Little Inkers Hearts
Stamp Set - Simon Says Stamp! Favorite Flowers

Seize the Birthday - Toppings: SKETCH

The paper that I used for this layout is paper I made in a class I taught. The technique is coloring the backside of the front of an embossing folder with ink, spritzing with water and then placing the paper on top. The paper does not go through a cuttlebug. I used two different pieces of paper that I had stamped. I mounted the smaller piece of paper onto bashful blue cardstock and also attached two pieces of leftover circles previously punched. I added a piece of enamel bling, The stripped card stock was cut into thirds and attached onto a piece of bashful blue cardstock. I attached the smaller piece with mounting tape. Lastly I stamped the sentiment.

Paper - SU! Bashful Blue, white card stock, snippets of red paper
Ink - SU!, Distress Ink
Stamp - Papertrey Ink "Communique Curves Sentiments"
Embossing Folders - Distressed Stripes, unknown

CASology: Week 130 FRIEND

This card for CASology uses a very old SU! stamp set. I stamped and heat embossed the bird onto a piece of water color paper. My choice of colors for the bird came from a post by Bonnie Klass where she showed photos she had taken of birds in her yard. I used distress markers and a water color brush and played with the colors. I trimmed the paper and punched the top. This piece was mounted onto a piece of confetti white cardstock. The sentiment was stamped with Versafine and heat embossed.

Stamp set - SU! Spring Song
Paper - Canson watercolor 90#, SU! Confetti White
Ink - Distress Markers, Versafine
Other - embossing powder, mounting tape, notebook paper punch

CAS(E) this sketch! #106

On my craft mat I rubbed distress ink and spritzed with water and then using a circular motion rubbed on the right side of the cardstock. When the ink was dry I stamped the image with Versafine and had to stamp twice as the stamp was small. Then I stamped the sentiment and heat embossed with clear powder. Some of the powder was on the diamond image so I sprinkled more powder on portions of the entire image, despite the fact the ink was dry. The image is splotchy and there are nicks on the stamp, therefore intentional. I trimmed this piece and attached to black cardstock. Lastly I attached three pieces of black bling and splattered a little bit of tumbled glass with a toothbrush on the white.

Paper - Neenah, SU! black
Ink - Versafine Black Onyx, Distress Ink Tumbled Glass, Spiced Marmalade
Stamps - My Favorite Things, two different sets but no name visible (freebies)
Bling - JoAnn's

CASology - NBUS and Darnell's NBUS Challenge

I am going to enter this in CASology's challenge and Darnell's. What is NBUS about this card is the die cut and the stamp set from MFT. The cup sleeve is re-purposed from coffee I had on board our Christmas cruise to Hawaii. Most days I had a vanilla latte in a Starbuck's-type cafe, and I saved all of my sleeves. The sentiment is part of the sleeve.
The card base is kraft paper, then I used snippets of paper and some washi tape. I inked with Versafine Rich Cocoa.

CASology Week 128: DATE

Wow it has been one month since I submitted a card. Since mid-December I have cruised to Hawaii and back. The mister and I each returned with a cough and today seven days since I have been home I finally unpacked the last of three suitcases. A friend emailed me to see if we could make a lunch date but sadly I was not feeling well enough to go out. This stamp is a girly "let's do lunch" type card so this is my entry into CASology's theme of Date. This is a one layer card.

Paper - PTI white card stock
Stamp - Unity "Shop.Lunch,Chat.Girl"
Ink - Distress Pickled Raspberry, VersaFine

Using a round mat I sponge the ink and when dry I inked and heat embossed the image. CAS and easy too.
