Long time no blog

I know I know. It's been a while since I posted. I finally picked The Astronomer back up. Here is where I was on Wednesday when I started again.

And this is where I ended last night. I got most of the top of the cage in. I have about a column and a half to do on this page and then on to page 7. I hope to be on page 7 by next weekend.

Lots and lots of black on the next page. Good thing I picked up several skeins.

Updates for my Buddy, Cindy in MA - 27th March 2011

Here's the latest update for my buddy, Cindy in MA

-------------------------------------------------

I have put in 2 weeks on The Astronomer & I think I have made some good progress. I did 926 stitches. It doesn't sound like alot but it was all confetti stitching. I confess I had one day out of the 2 weeks that I did not get 1 stitch in. Just too tired.

Now I have a confession to make. Chocolate, Chocolate & More Chocolate was supposed to have a turn next but I could not resist starting another one. I have now added Afternoon Tea to my rotation.

What can I say. I'm addicted to these little dragons.
On a non stitching note the weather here has been better. No snow & not much rain for the last 2 weeks.Maybe spring has finally come to New England.
Okay now time to go stitch somemore.
Have a great day

The Astronomer Page 5

I actually completed this page earlier this week, but I'm just getting around to posting the picture. There was a bit more confetti on this page so it took a little longer.
I am going to stay with this one for awhile and not rotate to another one. I'm really moving along on this and don't want to interrupt the mojo.

The Astronomer Page 4

I finished page 4 this past weekend. I started page 5 tonight.I don't know if I'll be able to stitch it as fast as the last two pages.
I've been through one skein of black and 3771 already. I think they're right that it may take 15 skeins of black. Thanks for looking.

And here is where I ended this month.

I will be rotating to Fantasies of the Seas next month.

Everyone's work is looking really nice. Thanks for looking.

First Rose and The Astronomer Restart

Hello all my stitching friends! I was not able to post an update the last two weeks because of problems with my computer. It is feeling cooperative this morning, so I better make a post now!

Two weeks ago, I worked on First Rose. Here are before and after pics:

Last week I received my new 28ct Lavendar Lugana and restarted The Astronomer. I am much happier with this color! I didn't get far because he had to share the week with a nonHAED, Cirque des Cercles.
Looking forward to all of your updates!

The Encounter and new start

Hello all!

It's been few weeks than I posted last time, mostly because I had couple of weeks when I didn't stitch a§t all. I just could't find any motivation to continue The Encounter. Since then I've done it little and also started new design - The Astronomer as I promised. First it felt wery strange to start a new work - I felt myself like a betrayer:-) You know - I have been working ONLY The encounter since march 2009. But now I think it was good decision, it's nice to do something different for change. Im thinking to consentrate on Astronomer few weks now and then I'm hoping to stitch both of them every week. Only thing what worries me little is ... when will I finish those works now than I have two of them... Probably it takes many years....

Great stitching week everybody!

Page 1 HD

I finally finished page 1 of the Astronomer. Finally! Now I have to decide if I want to continue with it or go back to Fantasies of the Sea or Contemplating the System. I really feel like working on something brighter. So maybe back to Fantasies.

Aurora's Garden and The Astronomer

Hello my friends!

I think I have missed two updates, but I can say that I stitched for each Thursday SAL! Two weeks ago we added a new rescue dog to our family. He has some physical disabilities and the old dog needs to learn that after 7 years it is OK to not be the only child any more! Things are going well now.

This week I got a little more stitching done. It seems Aurora's Garden got more attention. As you can see, my floss traveled a bit! The brown is the beginning of her hair.

Wishing everyone a wonderful stitching week! It is so great to be a part of this blog and share in all of your accomplishments!

Astronomer Update

I haven't been able to stitch on this much for the past two weeks, but I came home early Tuesday from work and stayed home on Wednesday since I wasn't feeling real great. So of course I had to do some stitching to make me feel better right? I am still on page 1 but only have two more columns to finish. Maybe this weekend.

Aurora's Garden and The Astronomer

Hello friends!
I am very late with my Saturday update! I have been preoccupied with something non-stitchy, but I have been stitching most days. Here are the before and afters:

I have quickly looked at all your progress, but need to go back and leave comments! Hope everyone has a productive stitching week!

Aurora's Garden and The Astronomer

Another week, a few more stitches in! I divided my week between these two. Worked well for me, but you may need a magnifying glass to find the new stitches! Slow stitching divided by two HAEDs equals very slow progress!
Happy stitching to everyone this week!
Sabine

Mystery, Astronomer

Well I dont think the Mystery is a Mystery very long. The black from the store (25) were brought this week. I stitched 4 of them already. lol.
And the Astronomer had some drapes. I like it very much.
And I was so bad, and bought a new one. Al the gold and browns were so very beautiful. I dont think you all are suprised if I told you it is Medusa. also from LA. Williams. I had to keep my hands out of my fabric stash box. Because I cant wait to start is also. sigh....... and than the christmas is so near and I want to finish the Madonna from Christensen. I think that is not gonna happen.......
By the way. the Medusa needs 16 skeins of 310 and 21 of brown 3371 LOL.......... Well its not all black.......
Everybody a very nice stitching week.

The Astronomer

I'm really getting a lot more colors in - finally! Here is last weeks work.

And here is this weeks progress.

The little open spots are colors I am missing. I need to do a Michaels run this weekend as I am kitting as I go along.

Sabine's Astronomer

I'm afraid The Astronomer and I had a rough week, with little progress. I do believe we hosted the ENTIRE frog family for the week! Two stitches in, six stitches out. Every -single- day -this- week. I also ripped my thread and learned how to accidentally make french knots on the back of the fabric without even looking! But I am proud of myself for fixing all those mistakes, because honestly, who would notice a misplaced ultra very dark brown stitch in a sea of black? No one. But I know, and it would forever stick out like a blinking neon sign, so I fixed it. So here they are, before and after:

I've pulled the welcome mat from under the frogs, so lock your doors! I don't know which way they're heading. Have a great stitchy week everyone!!!!
Sabine

Wow Look

Something else besides black! I finally started putting in some of the other colors. You can't tell, but there is some 3371 in with the black. I picked up 20 more of the colors for the Astronomer, so I will hopefully be filling in a lot of the open areas.

Astronomer

This week I spent time at two pieces. The mystery project and the Astronomer. Of the Astronomer I show you the picture. It is not a large page. But he is in a couple of stitches done. You can see very much detail. I find it inspiring to work at. I am curious who would be my buddy. And i am very curious what my Astronomer buddys did at there work...

Sabine's Astronomer

I can't believe another stitchy week has passed already! Here are the before and after pics of The Astronomer.

After all the complaining I did about the black last week, I must be fair and say that #310 and I have made our peace. As you can see, I went out of my way to continue stitching in black! At first I had some technical difficulties with the black, though. The floss is thinner and harsher than the blues and greens I had been using and I had to loosen my stitch tension because the bottom of the crosses were slipping through the Lugana. It also knots alot and frays easily, but the lack of color stimulation has been soothing!

Till next week,
Sabine
