Leaf

Here is my update on Leaf she now has a spider web on her shoulder.  The next page is all light colours and nothing interesting so hopefully it will go fast.

Everyone is doing such fabulous work.

Leaf

I have now finished Page 12 only 8 more to go. I am going to have to stay really focused as there is not a lot of detail in the stitching so I am hoping that it goes really fast.

Everyone's work looks fantastic. I really enjoy seeing the progress of everyone.

Leaf

Here is my latest update on Leaf she now has lips and I just love how she is looking.  I am going to have to stay really focused as all the interesting pieces are stitched and it will just be background and her shoulder left to do.

Leaf

Here is my progress this week. As you can see her jawline is just starting to appear. I will be so glad to be finished this page as I am sick of all the pale colours. At least the next page has a break from those colours when I get to the lips and there will also be a bit of background appearing too.

Leaf

Here is an updated picture of Leaf. My goal is to stitch 1/2 a page a month. Last week I managed 1,400 stitches and am on the last row of my goal. You can see the hint of red on the side which are the start of her lips. I can't wait to get to page 12 and to get her lips done.

Leaf

Here is Leaf with Page 9 finished. This was also my Yearly HAED goal. So it is now onto Page 10 and I hope to get at least 1/2 page finished this month.

DH is still home with his wrist. DD also got engaged. They are in South America and he proposed on Easter Island. She is getting married when they get home which will be 2011/2012. So plenty of time to plan.

Everyone's work is great and Happy Birthday to Wendy and Happy Anniversary - 10 years is a big milestone.

Leaf

Here is what I have been working on today. I just love how the curls at the back of her neck looks. She is such a delight to stitch. Haven't got as much stitching on her this week as I would have liked. Still running DH around to have an MRI on his wrist and then off to the Specialist and today we had to get a splint made up for his wrist and then he starts therapy on it 3 times a week.

Leaf and Blue Pearls Mermaid QS

Here is my update of Leaf. I was hoping to get a bit more stitching done on her. I still have DH home and I am in a little stitching Slump. If you click on the photo and open it up you can see the lovely curls in her hair.
Also a picture of Blue Pearls Mermaid QS. I am so close to finishing Page 1. This has so much confetti stitching it would have to be one of the longest times in my records for finishing off a page.

Hopefully things will be back to normal soon.

Leaf 2nd April

Doing my update a little early this week as I am going away for the week-end. She now has a nose Yayyyyy. Finished Page 8 and now for 9 which is mainly hair. I am just amazed at how she looks.

I have nearly finished stitching all the Blending Filament on Daydreaming Fairy Page 2. I don't think I want to see any BF for a looooong loooong time.

3 HAEDS

Firstly I finished up the 10hrs on Blue Pearls Mermaid QS. Love the pretty colours in this piece and they way the pearls are starting to twine around her arms. I can't wait to get this into a permanent slot in my rotation. The artwork is by Elaine Cox.

The second one is Day dreaming Fairy. I finished off page 1. Yippee and have finished the first 10 rows. I am dreading next week stitching on her as the next 10 rows are pretty solid blending filament...Yuck but I will bite the bullet and get it out of the road. I love seeing the movement in her hair. It is just so beautiful.

Lastly is Leaf and as I said I would do here is my backside of her.
Last week I stitched down from the eye and the nose is now coming into view. This is stitching up really fast as there are large blocks of colour and it shouldn't take long to finish Page 8. She is such a delight to look at and stitch. And watching her come to life is just magical.

Leaf - 20th March 2009 + 2 more

Well here is my picture of Leaf for this week. She has TWO eyes. Yaaaay. I just love stitching her and can't wait to get to the lips which will be some months away though.

I have also put in a picture of my Blue Pearls Mermaid QS which is my 10hr Focus. I just love the colours in this and have already done 5 hrs this week -mainly confetti stitching.

Last is Daydreaming Fairy SAL 2009. I love her hair and am really pleased with how she is looking

Leaf progress

Before

Here is my progress - she now has another eye-brow. I have been stitching on her quite a bit this week. I just love stitching on this piece especially now that her face is coming together. I love having the face done as she then talks to me as I stitch.

I just love reading people's stories about their stitching journey. I also love the fact that we come from all over the world with so many different life stories. It really enriches my life to know you all.

I have also been working on Daydreaming SAL too.

Annette's Intro

Hi I am Annette and I live in northern New South Wales Australia. I am married with 3 grown children. 2 boys and a girl. I work from home which is great for sneaking in stitching time. We live one street back from the beach and it is wonderful to stitch at night time to the sounds of the ocean.

I love HAED patterns and how they stitch up. My main focus piece is called Leaf - artwork Selina Fenech. I have just started on Page 8 of 20. I have been stitching HAED's for probably 4 years now and have finished 5 Quick Stitches and 1 Full Size. I have about 8 Full size WIP and 2 QS's. I have 3 more kitted up waiting to be fitted into the rotation.

This is my latest finish Green Dragonfly - artwork CCKuik. She is one of my favourite HAED artists along with Nadia Tate. I have enough charts to last me at least 5 lifetimes. I guess I am a collector.

I don't mind how long it takes me to stitch a HAED as it is the journey that counts. I grid all my projects as I find it helps me pick up mistakes earlier and makes it easier to stitch the same colours in the squares near where you are stitching. I always stitch from left to right and from top to bottom. I can't stitch cross country - I have to fill in all the square as I go as I can't stand to have gaps in my stitching. Don't ask me why I do this as I have no answer.......LOL. I also love the over 1 stitching - everything else seems massive now. I love watching the picture emerge as I stitch.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone's progress.
