Moon Fantasy Storykeep

I am so sorry that I have not posted for such a long time. I have been in a big stitching slump for the last few months and I'm sad to say not much stitching has been done in that time. I started off not stitching at all for a few weeks to see if that would bring back my need but it didn't work, so since then I've just put a few stitches in every now and again, mainly on small projects however. My HAED's have therefore been very sadly neglected. I miss them so much, but they feel like a struggle right now so I have put in the odd 100 or so stitches then put them away again.
I thought I'd post an update pic of my Moon Fantasy Storykeep as I've done about another 1000 stitches since the last pic. I've also put a few stitches in on my Cabin In The Woods, but not enough for a pic yet really.
I am pleased to say that I think this last week I've enjoyed the little stitching I have done more, and so am hoping that the worst may be over and my love for my stitching is coming back.
All of your wips are absolutely gorgeous and I look following your progress whilst I cannot make much of my own. I'm so happy that a way has been found for the girls on the waiting list to participate as well.
I will try to be back much sooner this time. Til then, happy stitching.

HAED returns to the cabinet - but just temporary of course ;-))

For 6 months in a row I have been stitching almost every night at my HAED, but just before my holidays, now a couple of weeks back, I had enough of it. The last 2 pages had only been different shades of blue, and I guess that I wanted to do something more exciting for a while. So I have put aside my HAED and banned it to the cabinet, because all of a sudden, I wanted to start with something else.
On the picture you can see, how far I have come with my HAED. And on my blog, http://www.michdg.blogspot.com/ you can see, what I have started now.
Of course, I will come and chear all of you here the whole time also, and enjoy the beautiful things you make. And of course I will come and join you again in some months, when I long for my HAED again. I'm sure this break will not take long ;-))

My "blues" is becoming lighter ;-))

Hi ladies, I hope you are all doing fine !!!
I thought it was time again to show you an update of my X-mas work while outside temperatures are around 30 degrees Celcius ;-))
3 weeks ago, I'd almost finished page 6 of my work.

And this is where I am now, almost finished with page 7. One more hour of work and I can go on to the next page. Did you see on the left hand side, that there's finally lighter colours coming in? Great actually, after 2 pages of only dark blue !!!
Have a great stitching week ...

Mich - Blue is the only colour I know !!!

Hi friends !!! I hope you are all doing fine and perhaps enjoying some holidays?
It has been 5 long weeks since I last posted something over here, shame on me !! But due to my holidays and then so much to do at my work, I didn't manage everything so well, I felt.
But anyway, now I'm back and would like to share my progress with you.
This is how my HAED looked like 5 weeks ago ...

And this is how it looks today, almost finished page 6. This page has been nothing than blue stitches, except for 15 grey once ;-)) But still, I enjoy it very much.

And you know what? Page 7 will also be only blue stitches ;-))

Mich - A star is born ...

... and it landed on top of my Christmas tree.
It was 3 weeks since I had shown the progress of my work, so this is what you last saw ...

And 10 minutes ago I just finished page 5. As always it was fun doing, and now ... I have to work further ;-))

P.S. My work is, as you can see, terribly wrinkled ... Perhaps I would need to put an iron on it before I took a picture of it. Sorry for that !!

Blue, blue, soooooooooooooooo blue ...

It had been a while since I updated here. With my mother over here in Sweden on holidays, I spent less time behind the computer to share my time with her. But ... one thing I'm not giving up, and that's my evening hours of stitching ;-))
Here under you see what I did about 3 weeks ago ...

And this is where I am today. Yesterday I started page 5 !! Is there somebody that can explain me why this never gets boring, even if I only get to use some different shades of blue?

Finished The Page!

I was trying really hard to finish the page before the end of April but didn't quite make it. I did finish it earlier today though so it's come off the qsnaps, been ironed and I've taken an up to date pic of the whole thing. I've now done 22.2% so only loads more to go lol.
I've still not decided whether to move onto another page or pull out one of my other HAED's for a while, so going to have to wait and see if any inspiration hits.
Happy May everyone!

Soon To Be A Full Moon

First of all I'd like to apologise for my lack of update pics. I seem to be in a blogging slump right now and haven't updated my own for over 2 weeks. I have however been following this blog and find myself checking 2 or 3 times a day for update pics. You are all an inspiration and I LOVE seeing all the pics.
I have been stitching thankfully. I have some pif's and gifts to stitch at the moment so I'm stitching on them quite a bit, but I have been working on Cabin In The Woods and am getting very close to finishing my 5th page! I will be 22% done with it once this page is done lol, so still a fair way to go.
I'll post another pic of the whole design so far as soon as I've finished the page. I'm not sure what to do when I do finish the page, start another page on Cabin, or do some on one of my other HAED's, Alisha QS, Always Dreaming QS or Romeo & Juliet. What do you think I should do?

Mich - Long time no see !!!

Due to my holidays, I didn't post my progress anymore the last 3 weeks. But in the meantime I have of course read all of your nice posts !!!

This is what I had been stitching 3 weeks ago. As you know I took the work with me to Belgium, and managed to stitch a little there also.

And this is what I had stitched up untill last Monday. I find it so fantastic, because now I only have to stitch with blue, and even if the colours are quit similar, it's never boring.
I find it so great that I don't see a thing about the whole pattern when I'm busy stitching all the blue, but when I then look at the work from a distance, all of a sudden the shades from a tree are arizing. So amazing !!! Incredible how they can make such beautiful patterns !!!!
2 more rows to go and I have finished page 3 also. But I have to be honoust, page 3 is only half the size of a normal page, as I have landed at the end of the work on the right hand side ;-))

Mich - I have to confess something !!

I had informed you that I would not send an update anymore the next 3 weeks, due to the fact that I was going on holidays. I was not taking my HAED with me, as I also have a stitching work lying at my mother's place, and it would be nice if I could finish that one also as it was a birthday present for my mum.
But yesterday I started to doubt ... I checked how many kilo's of luggage I had with me and saw that I had 1 kilo left that I could fill up with something. But no ... I was strong and was not going to take my HAED.
But 10 minutes before the taxi was planning to pick me up this afternoon, I made a quick decision, took my 2 boxes with threads, and started to search all the colour numbers I needed. I searched like a maniac, as in the meantime the taxi had arrived and I told him to wait because I was not ready. So I searched and searched untill I had all correct colours.
So now my HAED is in my suitcase anyway. I couldn't coop without it during these 12 days. Do you think I'm addicted ;-))

Cabin In The Woods Progress

Sorry I've not posted any pics since my intro a while back, luckily I am better at stitching than blog posting lol. I have been reading everyone's posts and looking at all the gorgeous wips though and they are stunning. I don't have enough hours in the day to comment on everyone's posts I''m afraid but I just wanted to say you all do such wonderful stitching.
I've been working on Cabin on a Wed and Thur evening for the last few weeks and although the progress is slow I'm enjoying it. The first pic is it as a whole before I started the current page, and the close up is the next page along the top row after last week's stitching.

I've been trying to finish up a non-HAED wip for a while, which thankfully I managed last night, so I'm hoping to be able to spend more time on Cabin now for a while at least and see how I get on. Til next time!

Mich - My Christmas tree is growing

Goodmorning all of you !! I did quit some stitching this week, around 2200 stitches, and I was late in my bed every night this week, due to this HAED I'm addicted too ;-))
This is how my work looked like last week ...

And this is how it looks like after 2200 new confetti stitches. Ohohoh, I really want to stitch some more blue colour now again, instead of all that counting on the confetti stitches. But I guess next week will also be more confetti stitches, before the blue colour turns up again.

And we are also challenged to show the back of our work, and this is mine. Terrible, isn't it, you see lots of threads going up and down and from left to right, just because of the confetti stitches. There is no way I can work in a decent way !! I hope I didn't scare you too much when showing this hihi !!
This will be my last post in 3 weeks now, as I will fly to Belgium on Thursday for Easter holidays and will only be back 12 days later. I'm not taking my HAED with me (how will I survive this) but I have another stitching work lying at my mother's on which I will be working. I started it 2 years ago for her birthday, and poor mum, after 2 and a half years, she still didn't receive her present !!! So I will work some more on that one then. But in the meantime I will of course check this blog every day, and will gladly comment on all your beautiful progresses.
If you want to follow me during this time anyway, and are curious of what I will be doing in the meantime, you can follow me on my blog : http://michdg.blogspot.com/
For now, have a good weekend, and don't forget to turn off the light and electricity supplies tonight between 8.30 and 9.30 pm. That means 1 hour less of stitching, but sometimes we need to do something for our planet !!

Mich - So great to have a new stitching frame !!

So last Sunday my stitching frame broke down !!! Grrrr, it was awfull !!! I really felt at that moment, that I'm pretty addicted to this HAED. It was lucky that I was away all Monday, so that I wouldn't have had the time to stitch anyway. But Tuesday evening after work, the first thing I did was going to buy a new frame. I was a bit afraid if they were going to have that in my little village, but they had one even better than the one I used before. It's the same size, for which I was glad, because it felt the same in my hand, but the edges were thicker, so better quality I think, and the edges are even chamfered, so very smooth to hold in my hand.

This is what I had stitched up to last week. It was fun then to do a lot of the blue part, which were normal stitches, so it went very fast.

And this is where I have come this week. Again lots of confetti stitches, but slowly the Christmas tree is founding his way to my fabric. I hope I will still stitch a lot during this weekend, because I really want to see how the tree looks like. At least tomorrow I need to finish this first page of my pattern.

Have a nice weekend, all of you, and hope you have some time to stitch !!

Mich - So much blue this week !!

Goodmorning everybody, sorry for my late post, but yesterday I worked long hours and didn't have the courage anymore to post something. Bot of course, I had some courage left to stitch ;-))

This was what I stitched the first week I started with my HAED. I found it was going rather slow, because the cabin exists of only confetti stitches, so there was a lot of counting and searching involved.

This week I did a lot of the blue part (nothing compared of course with ALL the blue that I will have to stitch on this work), but this one advanced so much faster as all stitches were lying in each others neighborhood.
I think I will need 2 more days and then I will have stitched the first page of my pattern. And I'm still a first class addict, I can't stop !! ;-))

Intro From Lisa (UK)

Hi,
My name is Lisa and I'm 36 years old and from Yorkshire in the UK.
I've been stitching HAED's for about almost 4 years now I think and LOVE them. They really are a labour of love and although I stitch other things as well, I can't imagine not stitching on HAED's.
So far I have finished 2 designs, both by Selena Fenech. My first finish was her Dragon Fae Storykeep in 2006 and QS Tomboy followed this last year.

I then have 4 wips, one of which is my real labour of love, Nancy Faulkner's Cabin In The Woods, along with Hannah Disney's QS Alisha, Molly Harrison's QS Always Dreaming and Sara Butcher's Romeo & Juliet. Cabin is about 25 pages I think, and so far I'm on my 5th lol, so I know it's going to take years, but that's ok, I've no intention of going anywhere for a while lol.

I haven't worked on any of my others except Cabin in some time, so I'm excited that by joining here it might motivate me to pull my others out and put some stitches in them as well!

Mich - Friday, so time to show my progress

Saturday afternoon I started my first HAED, Cabin in the woods, and boy oh boy, did I have fun since then !! It was so fun to stitch on this one. Except for the blue on top, you could say that it was nothing else than confetti stitches the whole time, so it went slower then expected but was fun to search and count to find the symbols I needed.
You notice that it's a new work, because I kind of neglected all my other hobbies this week, just wanted to stitch on this one the whole time. So much fun !!!

Mich - So excited !!!!

I'm sooooooooo excited !!! I just joint this HAED SAL and I'm really looking forward this.

I did order my HAED at Wendy's In2hobby, but I just have 1 BIG problem !!! I'm a Belgian girl living in Sweden, which means that I'm only in Belgium every now and then. So next time I will be visiting Belgium will only be in 5 weeks. Normally I'm quit a patient person, you learn this when living abroad and not always having the possibility to go home when you want it or need it, but this time I really don't have any patience. I want to, want to, want to have that HAED that I ordered ;-))

This is the one that I ordered, the "Cabin in the woods". My goal is to have it finished by Christmas, or am I too ambicious now? Anyway, I'm looking sooooo forward to start this big work. The last months I have been working on some smaller stitching works that I will use on my scrapbooking pages, but I'm looking forward to working on a big work again.

There is actually already another HAED laughing at me too, and that's this one here, the "Up up and away". I will have a look at it when I'm at Wendy's and probably that one will also find his way to Sweden. My next goal for X-mas 2010 hihi !!!

The only thing I really find a pity now, is that I can't start joining in for real yet, but I just read on Kim's blog that there are freebies on HAED's website, and there are some smaller onces that I really like. So perhaps I will make a little one first, to fill the gap between now and the moment when I will have my "Cabin in the woods" in my hands. I can perhaps use a smaller one on a card that I make. I always like to combine different crafts together. This afternoon I will have a look in my supply to see with what I can come up with.

For the moment I'm busy with a little Popcorn stitching work, and I'm not far from finishing it, but I have the feeling that this one will go at the side now, because I'm really so enthusiastic to start on the HAED challenge.
