hello march... where did february go???

Well I managed to drop the ball didn't I last month!  Where on earth did the time go? Where did the month disappear to??

I can't believe it is the first day of March already!

Anyways, astonishment aside... I have been busy... stitching... I just sort of forgot to come and post over here!

Let's just jump right in and start...  first of all tusal... the new moon was on the 27th so here is my Feb ort jar - all nice and full, as well as the year to date...

I've also been working on my Sunday SAL with Edith... and have been making some nice progress each week.  Here is Veronica with progress as of Feb 26

Being good, I haven't started any new projects just yet, though I will admit I do have several new starts planned... however, not just yet...  One I will start working on this month, but that is a commission work, so that I have to.  Here are my wips that I worked on through the month of February...

Summer Bouquet by Lanarte, I made a little more progress on it since the picture in my last post...

Then Mirabilia's Madonna of the Garden

and finally I worked on Long Dog's Death by Cross Stitch... I do have a little more done since this picture was taken, but not enough to warrant a new photo.

I also managed to finish off a crocheted blanket... stroller size... not quite sure who will get it, but I made it... I actually finished the blanket itself in January, but ran out of the purple yarn for the border... it just took me forever to get more! But I finally did, and here it is...

That's all I've got... I'm hoping that this month will be much better than February... it was a total bust for me in other aspects as well, not just blogging... the only thing that kept me sane was my stitching... and as you can see, I did lots of that!

Till next time.... happy stitching!

new starts and wips....

As I mentioned in my previous post, I have been busy stitching away....

I have a couple of new starts, with a few more planned in the future...

Here is what I started...

It's been a while since I've done a big Mirabilia project, so I decided it was time... and I pulled out Madonna of the Garden... started her on September 25, and this is my progress so far.

I am stitching her on 28ct lugana (I believe)Snowy Skies by Sparklies hand dyed fabrics using the called for threads.

Next up is Feathers & Friends by Butternut Road, one that has been in my to do pile for a very long time.... I started her on Oct 5 and this is my progress up to today... I've been working on her apron...

I am stitching her on 28ct bayleaf jobelan with the called for DMC.

As for my other wips, I made some progress on only a couple of them... I worked on my Summer Bouquet as well as my Reflections of Canada... I tried to work on Autumn Quaker by Rosewood Manor, but I made a mistake somewhere and I just couldn't find it to fix it, so I gave up... and made no new progress on that one...

Here are my before and after pictures of both Summer Bouquet by Lanarte and Reflections of Canada by Ink Circles

And that is it!  till next time... happy stitching!

catching up...

It seems that all I'm doing lately is playing catch up with my blog.  I love having one, I love reading other people's blogs, I'm just getting really lazy when it comes to posting on mine.  Which is quite strange, as I have had lots of crafty goodness going on.

So apologies to all that read my blog, if anyone out there still does that I've been so very neglectful.

Now on to that crafty goodness I was mentioning!

First things first, February's TUSAL... I took my picture at the correct time, the new moon, but obviously I've failed to post it on time.  However, better late than never... here is my February ort report.

I decided that this year I will do my pictures a little differently... I will have my monthly ort jar, as well as my bigger year jar.   As you can see I did much more stitching this last month than the one previously.

I do have a couple of happy dances to show... one crochet and one cross stitch.... I started and finished an infinity scarf for my niece and here she is modeling it.  It is quite large, as it fits around her head 3x's. But she likes it and is happy with it.

My cross stitch finish is the new project I start in January... Tea Break by Jardin Prive.  I change the pinks to blues in mine and made the hearts read. Otherwise it is stitched with the called for  DMC threads and is stitched on 32ct whimsical winter jobelan by Under the Sea fabrics.

Next up I decided to give some of my wips some love... I worked on Autumn Quakers by Rosewood Manor for a week, and here is my updated progress picture of that.

Then I pulled out my Summer Bouquet by Lanarte, and sort of got stuck on that one for a few weeks (3 weeks to be exact) and made great progress.

This week I finally changed projects and as of today am working on my Cornwell Cottage also by Rosewood Manor.  I know that one is supposed to be our Sunday SAL... but sadly, the one year we finally have another person join Barbi and I stitching, life happens and the Sunday SAL went out the window.  I'm sure poor Linda is done hers already!   Anyways I hope to catch up to her soon, and finish it in the near future and then maybe we can all get back on track with a new Sunday SAL project.

Till next time... happy stitching!

catch up - stitching projects 2

In between working on the commissioned pieces I did work on some of my own stitching... I pulled a few wips out, ignored others, and started a new one...here is my progress on them...

My newest start... Halloween nine by Sanman originals for the merry members. It is such a cute little stitch...

My Lanarte Summer Bouquet got some love...

As did my Home Sweet Home sampler by Grilles de Maryse, two squares left on the main piece and that part is done.

I also managed to catch up and fall behind yet again on my monthly SAL through Palkolap's blog... here are June, July and August and all of them together...

I am very behind on my Sunday SAL with Barbi and Linda, I haven't touched it since June... I'm sure that Linda is almost done hers by now, from what I have seen on her blog, she is getting close!  Not sure where Barbi is as she is missing in action as well... Poor Linda we abandoned her on this SAL!

popping in to say hi!

Sorry, I know it's been a while, but I just haven't been in the mood to blog... not even reading that much... I've been in the mood to stitch, so that is good, I just miss visiting all of you, and seeing what you all have been up to!

I'll also admit, that I have tried to update a couple of times during the month, but blogger was being such a pain that I just gave up.  But regardless of how it's working today, I'm going to post!

I have wips to show, a new start as well as a happy dance!

Let's start with the happy dance...  many of you may have already seen it on facebook, but I want to show it off here too...

Midnight Watch by Blackbird designs.  Stitched on 28ct Jurassic sands jazlyn by the crafty kitten. Great fabric! I'm definitely going to order more, as I still have the companion piece to stitch up!

As you can see I did modify it a little, as I didn't want my initials or date on the bottom... I think it turned out ok, and I will admit, my favourite part to stitch was the moon and the kitty!

Next up are my wips...  I pulled out Humbolt Coast this past Sunday after not working on it for a couple of weeks...  here I am with it...

I apologize for the sideways picture, but no matter how I tried to fix it, blogger would only upload it this way... only a couple of pages left to do and its done!

It was also sunflower bouquet's turn in the spotlight, so that one got some love, and here I am with it...

And last but not least, I started a new project on Monday... it is the home sweet home sal 2013 pattern by Les Grilles de Maryse. I'm stitching it on 32ct mulled cider jobelan by Hand Dyed by Stephanie, and using dmc ecru.  I'm really enjoying it so far.

That's it for now... till next time happy stitching!

time flies...

Time really seems to be slipping away from me!  Again a couple of weeks have gone by without posting, but I am getting better, as this will be my 4 post in a month!

When I last posted, I showed you my progress on my Lanarte Summer Bouquet after one night of stitching... here is my progress after 6 nights...

I'm really liking how its turning out... lots of colour changes, but oh so pretty! I am looking forward to this one coming back into my rotation...

I also was mentioning how I had a few more new starts lined up, including pulling out an old wip... well here is that old wip... my freebie houses by Maryse from way back in 2007... however I messed up my first attempt very badly that I started it all over again in 2008... however that got put to the side and forgotten until now... I managed to get two houses done then and I have started the third this week. I didn't get much stitching time this week, so I didn't manage to finish the march house... but that is ok as I have to still find my alphabet I used...  all I know is that it is from a wedding pattern that I have.  I've searched and searched but no luck yet.

They are stitched over 1 with one thread on a mystery 28ct fabric...

This week I will be going back to my blackwork project, and its already set up in the qsnaps...  No stitching on Humbolt Coast this time as my Sunday's have been very busy... literally no stitching at all...

Till next time happy stitching and happy fall!!!

the stitching bug...

Again my apologies for not posting sooner... I seem to have ever intention a couple of times a week, and yet nothing happens... I've been so neglectful of my poor blog, and will definitely have to rectify that soon!

I've been keeping busy with life in general and of course my stitching... the bug has really seemed to have bit me and his pal startitis as well... I have this urge to just start project after project after project...

Soooo....what do I go and do... I give in and do start multiple new patterns... You've already seen my start on the Winter Blackwork, and a little of Poppy...  Here are some more pictures of what I've started and a more up to date picture of Poppy from where I left her last...

Poppy as of September 8...

Then the week of Sept. 9, I started Blackbird Designs Midnight Watch...

Here is my progress on it as of Sept. 14

Then on Sunday, I actually pulled out my Humbolt Coast SAL with Barbi and made a little progress on the beach...

And Monday this week I started my 4th new project... Lanarte's Summer Bouquet...

This is after Monday night's stitching session...

I have three more all lined up, but I think I will just start one more and save the other two and just slide them into the rotation when I finish one of the ones above... otherwise things will really get out of control...

Till next time... happy stitching!
