fruits, flowers, and a kitten

Raspberries, pears, and apples currently ripening/ready for eating!  There aren't enough raspberries for freezing/jamming, but there are enough for us to munch on a good amount each day. It feels so luxurious.  And asters and goldenrod everywhere! I love fall flowers best. There is something about their hardiness, spicier scents, woody stems that you can't easily pick, last hurrah of summer/food for the minibeasts. . . that has my heart.  For the first time in memory, our pears are ripening early. We are currently in a moderate to severe draught in our region, and I wonder if it could have anything to do with that?  This is Zuzu, short for Zuzu Petal. She's our new ridiculously charming kitten. One more orange cat makes three!
