fruits, flowers, and a kitten
Raspberries, pears, and apples currently ripening/ready for eating! There aren't enough raspberries for freezing/jamming, but there are enough for us to munch on a good amount each day. It feels so luxurious. And asters and goldenrod everywhere! I love fall flowers best. There is something about their hardiness, spicier scents, woody stems that you can't easily pick, last hurrah of summer/food for the minibeasts. . . that has my heart. For the first time in memory, our pears are ripening early. We are currently in a moderate to severe draught in our region, and I wonder if it could have anything to do with that? This is Zuzu, short for Zuzu Petal. She's our new ridiculously charming kitten. One more orange cat makes three! Though she's really more a pale pink and cream than anything else.
