Karunan vanha kirkko on 1685 valmistunut puukirkko, joka siirrettiin 1912 Helsingin Seurasaaren ulkomuseoon. Se on ulkomuseon vanhin rakennus. Kirkon rakennutti Karunan kartanon omistaja, vapaaherra Arvid Horn af Åminne. 

Karuna’s old church is a wooden church completed in 1685, which was moved to Helsinki’s Seurasaari outdoor museum in 1912. It is the oldest building in the outdoor museum. The church was built by the owner of the Karuna manor, free lord Arvid Horn af Åminne. 

Rakennusmestari Anders Wahlbergin suunnittelema kellotapuli valmistui vuonna 1767.

The belfry designed by master builder Anders Wahlberg was completed in 1767.

Varmasti joskus olisi jalkapuista apua kotonakin, vai...?

Perinnetupien ja -aittojen joukossa on myös kartano, jossa asui ns. parempaa väkeä.

Among the traditional huts and sheds there is also a manor where the better people lived.

Kahiluodon kartano 1790. Rakennus siirrettiin Seurasaaren ulkomuseoon 1926. Nykyinen kalustus on peräisin eri tahoilta paitsi keittiön avohyllyköt, jotka ovat alkuperäisiä.

Kahiluoto manor 1790. The building was moved to the Seurasaari open-air museum 1926. The current furniture comes from different sources, except for the open shelves in the kitchen, which are original.

Saarella kun ollaan, siellä on tietenkin pieni uimaranta, jossa poikien piti kahlata.

Vielä yksi kesälomakohde. Olimme Seurasaaressa, joka olikin yllättävän monipuolinen ja mielenkiintoinen kohde. Yleensä olen täällä vain kävellyt ympäriinsä, mutta nyt ostimme museoliput, joilla pääsimme pihoille ja talojen sisälle. Yllätys oli, ettei lapset kyllästyneet lainkaan. Vanhoista Suomi-filmeistä tutut miljööt ja elämäntavat heräsivät täällä henkiin.

One more holiday destination, we took a day trip to Seurasaari open-air museum island of Helsinki. Seurasaari is a surprisingly versatile and interesting destination. Usually I've just walked around here, but today we bought museum tickets to get into the courtyards and inside the houses. Surprise, the kids didn’t get bored at all. The environments and lifestyles familiar from old Finnish films came to life here.

The granary is built on a high stump to protect hunting prey from bears and wolverines.

1800-luvun tervavene on 14 metriä pitkä ja siihen mahtui jopa 25 tervatynnyriä. 

Se saattoi painaa lasteineen yli neljä tonnia. 

A 19th-century tar boat is 14 meters long and could hold up to 25 tar barrels. 

It could weigh more than four tons with cargo.

Ongelmia / Problems

Jotain on tapahtunut minun blogille tai googletilille. En pysty enää kommentoimaan ketään. Ensin olin anonyymi, mutta nyt välillä koko kommenttilaatikko ei ilmesty ja en siis voi lainkaan kommentoida. Kehoitetaan vaan kirjautumaan googletiliin, jossa ei kuitenkaan tapahdu mitään. Ja itseasiassa olen koko ajan tilille kirjautuneena. Olen pahoillani kun tai jos minusta ei kuulu mitään.

Syksyllä ilmeni myös tuon yläkuvan vaihtamisen mahdottomuus. Minulla on kaksi muuta blogia (ne on aivan unohdustilassa) ja niihin voisin vaihtaa yläkuvan, mutta nyt niissäkin kommentoinissa on samanlaista ongelmaa. En tiedä mistä johtuu. Ongelma kommentoinnissa on ilmennyt vasta nyt keväällä.

Olen tutkinut googletilin asetuksia, mutta mikään ei auta. Eli olen täysin umpikujassa.

Something has happened to my blog or google account. I can no longer comment on anyone. At first I was anonymous, but now sometimes the whole comment box doesn't appear and I cannot comment. You'll just be prompted to sign in to your google account, but nothing will happen. And in fact, I’m signed in to my account all the time. I am sorry when or if nothing is heard of me.

In the fall I couldn't chang header picture. I have two other blogs (they are completely forgotten) and I could switch the header picture, but now there is same comment problem as here. I don't know why. The commenting problem only became apparent in this spring.

I've been researching google account settings, but nothing helps. So I'm completely lost.

Seurasaari / An open-air museum island

 

Olin HUSin ihotautisairaalassa käymässä, ja kun sinne oikaisen aina Seurasaarentietä pitkin, niin paluumatkalla ajattelin käväistä katsomassa oliskos Seurasaaren pienellä parkkipaikalla tilaa. Muutaman kerran vuosien varrella olen joutunut kääntymään. Nyt kävi tsäkä kun oli yksi vapaa paikka (tuonne ilmeisesti mennään bussilla, kävellen tai pyörällä). Siitä taitaa olla jotain 30 v tai enempikin kun viimeksi kävin täällä. Sää vaan ei suosinut, kun alkoi ripsotella, joten tein vain pienen kierroksen. Mutta taatusti yritän uudelleen kesällä, kun on luontokin vihreää. Aivan ihana paikka kävellä. Olin kokonaan unohtanut.

Niin, tämä on ulkoilmamuseo saaressa lähellä Helsingin keskustaa, ja sinne on raijattu vanhoja rakennuksia ympäri Suomea vuodesta 1909 alkaen. Lue lisää tästä.

Seurasaari is an open-air museum in an island near the center of Helsinki. Old buildings have been moved there all over Finland since 1909. Reed more here.

I haven’t been here in many decades and I forgot how nice place it is. Now I had things to do in Helsinki, and I was thinking of visiting here. The parking space is very small, so I was lucky to have one free space (I have had to turn away a few times in the past.). The weather didn’t favor me because it started raining, so the walk was short. But I will come again in the summer, when nature is also green.
