Päivä Helsingissä 1

 

Olin viikolla Helsingissä Korvapolilla Kirralla, kuvassa on sairaalan ihana ikkuna. Menin eka kerran julkisilla koronan jälkeen. Mikä vapauttava tunne, ei tarvinnut etsiä parkkipaikkaa, ja sai jäädä kaupunkiin lumpustelemaan määrittelemättömäksi ajaksi. Oli ihana kävellä tutuissa paikoissa pitkästä aikaa.

In this week I was in Helsinki at the Ear Outpatient clinic. The hospital is old, and in the photo there is one of the wonderful window. I took the bus for the first time after the corona. What a liberating feeling, no need to look for a parking space, and allowed to stay in the city to walk indefinitely. It was wonderful to walk to familiar places for a long time.

Ekaksi olin siis Kirurgian sairaalassa Eirassa. Pihalla oli eri taiteilijoiden veistoksia.

In the courtyard of the hospital were sculptures by various artists.

Eirasta kävelin Kaivopuistoon. Oli kaunista ja keväistä.

From hospital I walked to Kaivopuisto-park. There was a beautiful and spring atmosphere.

Vastaleikatun ruohon tuoksu huumaa.

The smell of freshly cut grass is intoxicating.

Istahdin seuraamaan puluparvea. Joukossa oli merkillisiä valkoisia puluja, joita en ole ennen nähnyt.

I sat down to follow the swarm of pigeons. There were weird white pigeons I hadn’t seen before.

Pidä peukkuja. Menen huomenna keskiviikkona niinkin tylsään operointiin kuin sydänalatyrän tähystysleikkaukseen. Ylävatsa on vaivannut jo muutamia vuosia, mutta koska koko tyräjuttu oli minulle aivan vieras asia, en siten myöskään osannut vinkata siitä lääkäreille, jotka ei noteeranneet lainkaan koko mun mahaa. Alkukesällä sitten yks lääkäri kiinnostui ja määräsi ultraan, jossa syykin selvisi. Ja nyt 7 kuukauden kuluttua olen menossa Jorviin. Mun juttua ei oltu merkitty kiireelliseksi, joten siksi pitkä odotusaika. Mutta pääasia on, että se leikataan.

No one doctor wasn't interesting of my stomach, though it has been bothering me for a few years now. Fortunately in the early summer one doctor became interested and ordered an ultrasound, where the cause became clear. And now, after seven months I'm going to Jorvi hospital. Because my thing was not marked as urgent, so that's why so long waiting. But the main thing is that it will be cut.

Käväsin sunnuntai-iltana Kaivopuiston rannalla. Mutta tietenkin liian myöhään. 

Aurinko laski jo reippaasti "kulman" taakse. Pian olikin liian hämärää kuvien ottamiseen.

I was walking on a Sunday evening in the beach street in south Helsinki. But of course too late, 

the sun was already falling behind the "corner". Soon it was too obscure to take photos.

Yhdessä kohtaa oli jäässä hitaasti pyörivä pyöreä jäälautta. Ihmisiä seisoi sen päällä, kuin myös istuivat tuoleissa. Mikä lie sähkögeneraattori oli vedetty jään alle. Musiikki soi, ja kaikilla oli hauskaa.. 

There was also a slowly rotating ice floe in the ice. The people stood on it and they sat on the chairs. 

There might be some electric generator putting under the ice. The music was ringing, and everyone had fun. 

 Kapea väylä avoimelle vedelle oli avattu ja jäälohkareita leikattu kasoiksi rantaan.

The narrow fairway had been opened and the ice boulders were cut off to the beach.

Jääpaloja grogilasiin, olkaa hyvä :)

Kesää odottava laituri.

In the summer, the ferry crosses to the nearby island, where there is also a restaurant.

Saapuessani autoni luo klo n. 18.30, oli näkyvissä enää auringon värittämä taivas, 

ja alkoi olla pimeä ja kylmä.

When I arrived at my car at about 6.30 pm, there was only the sun-colored sky, 

and began to be dark and cold.

Länsiväylää pitkin kohti kotia, ja minnekäs se aurinko laskee kuin Kivenlahden suuntaan. 

Siellä onkin muuten paras paikka nähdä auringonlasku. En ehtinyt ajoissa perille, vaikka matkaa on vain 20 km. 

On the Länsiväylä road towards the home, and the sun falls in the direction of Kivenlahti, my home. 

There is otherwise the best place to see the sunset. I didn't arrive in time, even if the journey is only 20 km. 

Kaivopuiston lentonäytös / Airshow

Olipas kiva päivä eilen Kaivopuiston Lentonäytöksessä (lue täältä). Sää suosi ja ihmisiä oli tuhatmäärin (arvio 50 000–100 000 kpl). Parasta näytöstä oli englantilaisten taitolentäjien, Red Arrows, esittämät taidokkaat kuviot (katso täältä) ja kovaäänisemmät oli hävittäjäkoneet.

We had a nice day yesterday at Kaivopuisto Air show (read here). The weather was favorable and there were thousands of people (estimated 50,000-100,000). The best screen was from English Red Arrows (see here), and the louder ones were the fighter planes.

Helsingin Jäätelötehdas, Helsingin parasta jäätelöä. Kolme kiskaa Kaivopuistossa ja yksi Hesperiankadulla. Niin kauan kuin muistan, piti Kaivarissa käydä jollei muuten, niin ainakin ostaakseen niitä iki-ihania vanhanajan vaniljapuikkoja, niitä pyöreitä. Ne on edelleen myynnissä. Best ice cream in Helsinki. As long as I remember, we had to go to Kaivopuisto at least to buy the old-fashioned vanilla ice cream (circular formed). Kuva Helsingin Jäätelötehdas

Helsingin jäätelötehdas on Suomen vanhin toiminnassa oleva jäätelönvalmistaja. Italialaisen Magi-suvun kuusi veljestä lähtivät Italiasta Venäjälle. Kotipaikkakunnallaan Luccan provinssissa he olivat opetelleet kipsipatsaiden teon ja aloittivat niiden valmistuksen Pietarissa.
Vallankumouksen pyörteissä he joutuivat jättämään Venäjän ja siirtyivät Helsinkiin, jonne perustivat Helsingin ensimmäisen jäätelötehtaan vuonna 1922. Jäätelöä valmistettiin vain kesäisin, talvisin veljekset tekivät ja myivät kipsikuvia (Kipsikuvatehdas B.Magi.) Jäätelötehdas on edelleen Magien perheyritys, nyt jo kolmannessa polvessa.

"Helsingin Jäätelötehdas" (The ice cream factory of Helsinki) is the oldest ice cream maker in Finland. 

Six brothers of the Magi family left Italy and went to Russia. In their home in the province of Lucca they had learned to do the plaster statue and started manufacturing them in St. Petersburg.

In the turmoil of the revolution in Russia, they had to go away and they moved to Helsinki, where they founded the first ice cream factory in 1922. Ice creams were made only in the summer, and in winter the brothers made and sold plaster statues (B.Magi. Plaster factory). The ice cream factory is still the family business of Magie, now in the third generation.
