On ollut sekä 0 °C -keliä että erittäin kylmää (-18 °C). Ja lunta satanut edelleen.

Saatiin taas lunta ja pakkasta (-12 °C) ja jopa aurinkoakin. 

Merikin on jäässä, vaikka ei sinne vielä ole menemistä.

Muistelen viikon takaista aikaa, jolloin talvi näyttäytyi sellaisena kuin talven pitäisi olla. Mutta nyt on ollut hieman lämpöasteita ja lunta on enää jäljellä likaisissa kasoissa ja sohjoisilla, liukkailla jalkakäytävillä sekä nurmikoilla jne. Inhoittavaa. Toivottavasti saamme kuitenkin etelä-Suomeen valkoisen joulun, mikä olisi välttämätöntä, jotta joulupukki pääsisi liikkumaan porojen vetämällä reellä.

I remember a week ago, when winter was as it should be. But now it's been a bit warmer and all the snow is left is in dirty piles and on slushy, slippery sidewalks and on lawns etc. Disgusting. Olin sunnuntaina katsomassa Leevin futismatsia Espoolahden kuplahallissa.

On Sunday, I was watching Leevi's soccer match in the Espoolahti bubble hall.

Hallin tekonurmella junnuilla on harjoituksia ja siellä myös pelataan otteluita.

On the hall's artificial turf, the juniors have trainings, and matches are also played there.

Maanantaina iski raju lumimyrsky. Lunta tuli sakeana koko päivän niin paljon, että sitä oli pudotettava kuplan päältä. Mutta painoa oli silti liikaa ja kupla romahti. Onneksi sisällä ei ollut ketään, olivat varmuuden vuoksi ennakkoon peruneet kaikki treenit. Tänään kävelin katsomaan tuhoa.

On Monday, a violent snowstorm hit. It had snowed so much that it had to be dropped from the top of the bubble. But there was still too much weight and the bubble collapsed. Fortunately, there was no one inside, all training had been canceled in the morning just in case. Today I walked to see the destruction.

Taas on se aika vuodesta, kun talviuimarit pääsee avantoon uimaan. Pakkasta jotain -6 °C. 

Tämä ei ole minun juttu, palelen jo ajatustakin mennä veteen. Mutta kieltämättä kylmässä uimimisella on paljon hyviä terveysvaikutuksia - sanovat he jotka tietävät.

It's that time of the year again when winter swimmers can go to swim in hole in the ice. 

Freeze was about -6 °C. This is not my thing, I'm already freezing at the thought of going into the water. But without a doubt, swimming in the cold has many good health effects - say those who know.

Kauan kaivattu aurinko paistoi ja aamuinen usva verhosi hetken maiseman. Lunta on tullut paljon ja olo oli kuin jouluisessa satumaassa. Toivottavasti kestää kauemmin kuin yhden päivän... 

Hyvin tarkeni, pakkasta vain -6 C. Täytyy vain pukeutua oikein.

The long-awaited sun was visible throughout the short day and the short morning mist made the landscape mysterious. It has snowed a lot and the landscape is like a Christmas fairy tale. I hope this weather lasts more than one day...

It wasn't cold even though it was -6 C. You just have to dress warmly.

Ei se talvi minnekään ollut kadonnut, vaikka vettä satelikin. Tuli uudet (pienet)pakkaset ja uutta lunta.

It is still winter, even though it was raining. We got new (small) frosts and new snow.

Tämä eläkeläismies käy vapaaehtoisesti tarkastamassa jään kuntoa, ja laittaa oksia heikkoihin kohtiin, kuten vanhoihin pilkkiavantoihin. Sateet teki jäästä hauraamman. 

Ei ihan heti tee mieli mennä jäälle, vaikka kestää se kuitenkin kävelyn.

This retiree voluntarily goes to check the condition of the ice, and puts the branches in weak spots, like old holes in the ice of ice fishing. The rains made the ice more brittle.

Lunta on tullut lisää (samoin pakkanen kiristynyt) ja maisemat on kauttaaltaan valkoisia. 

Uskomatonta, että me etelä-Suomessakin saimme tällaiset talvipäivät.

Pakkasta yli -13 C, pientä viimaa, meri on jäätynyt (mutta ei kanna vielä). Eli talvi tuli meillekin. 

Kumma, kun aina pitää mennä rantaan kävelemään, vaikka siellä on niin kylmä, 

ettei näpit kestä ottaa kuin muutaman kuvan.

Frost  over -13 C, light breeze, the sea is frozen (but can't stand walking yet). In other words, winter also came to us in southern Finland.  It’s so cold that your fingers can take just a few pictures.

Tänään Suomi täyttää 104 vuotta.

Hyvää Itsenäisyyspäivää kaikille.

Today, Finland is 104 years old.
