25th July 2011

Hello to you all - it's still unbeliveable what's happened to Norway.
It's been some horrible days - so many young life has gone away - so many families has been destroyed - because of one man and his thinking.
Here's a link to the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Here is a link I found on Solorlagets facebook site Paradise Shattered

My son, Jan-Nichlas, works in Oslo - just nearby where the big bomb exploded and destroyed the Norwegian Government Office Building. I'll talked to him just minutes after it happened - he is now home - safe and sound.

It's so unbelievable - so tragic - we are a little nation - a little country - not 5 million people - we respect each other - we have a wonderful democracy and openness- we are proud to be Norwegian.

We'll continue to fight for our fundamental values like freedom and democracy.
And it's vacationtime...whatever that is!

Trying to read the paper...with candle in an old glassjar! called Norgesglass!

But it's cold at Stangelandet...about 60 / 70 Farenheit...no Summertime at all!

This is Varg...my Svedish Lappdog.

Thank you for reading my blog...and do not forget to ENJOY...even when the world are kind of black! right now.

New Years Eve 2010

A New Years Eve letter to my family and friends.  I did not have time or the effort to make a Christmas letter this year.  I hope...next year.
Nichlas and I lost CindyC - our Border Collie - in November 2008 - and we wondered if we ever should have a new dog - Nichlas beeing in Oslo for the next few years and me working in Elverum - well we got this little Swedish Lapdog in January.

His name is Varg - Wolf in english - he is quite a strongminded, barking and loving dog from Sabmebæna.  It is like beeing a mother again - with all that comes along.  He is a nice little fellow.

During the last decade I have done some genealogy.  It is the most creative hobby I have next to scrapbooking.  I just love sitting with my computer - searching for long gone relatives - and finding them - it makes life wonderful.  My father gave me two pictures of Botolf Martinsen Langerud - my grandmothers oldest brother.  I have tried everywhere searching for Botolf - not finding him at all.  I turnes out that he had changed his name to Barney Rudd - that I found on Ancestry.com  Some of The Story about Botolf and Marie and Steinhild I got from Margit Nysetvold Bakke at DIS-Norge Slektsforum Thank you so very much, Margit.  They are all long gone - but Steinhild Camilla had a daughter who lives in Alberta, Canada - lucky me!  This was last March and April.

In May month - well everybody who has been in Norway - or lives here - knows that it is pretty cold here during wintertime - that is why we do things like this...

...with all this

Now - in Desember - it's good to have chopped wood on the fireplace.  It is around minus 15 Farenheit and warmer during the Norwegian wintertime - brrr....

We did some Evja summertime - my mothers place in Osdalen.  Nordre Osen in Østerdalen - the place God left but did not forget - we just love Evja.  This picture is my brother making dinner outside - we usually do...

Then September and October came with sun and harvesting - this is our neighbours farm...

...and then suddenly it was Desember.  This year - 2010 - did run very fast - to fast - and I have not done what I thought I should have done!  But I did this one

So Merry, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you!  And do not forget to enjoy life!

Hipp Hipp Hurra! It's Norways Birthday.

Today is Norways Birthday.  Our Constitution Day.  Congratulation!
"A day to honor freedom, our rich heritage and our common bond as citizens of this great country"  I borrowed this sentence - It says it all.

Nichlasen is in Oslo with his father - Varg and I are home alone - doing nothing!  This is a day to reflect over our freedom and to celebrate.  We the Norwegian people have a lot to be proud of and to remember.

Today is The day when everybody! talks about the weather - here on HedEmarken it's grey with some ray of sunshine - it's 13 Celsius pluss and 55 Farenheit.

We do have bunads / national costumes from nearly every part of Norway.  This is the Solør Odal Bunad.  Even though I don't live in Solør anylonger - I'm Solung in my heart!  So it was easy to choose which bunad I should wear!

This layout I did some years ago. It's not the layout you should focus on - but the picture.

It's my aunt Randi waving the Norwegian Flag in Kaffegata - The Street of Flisa - on 17th of May 1941.  My Grandfather Simon commanded his children out in the snow - with the flag - and he did take some marvelous pictures this day - even tough The World War II was going on in Norway.

The handsome young man is my uncle Johan - he passed away in 2004.  You can see the famouc birches in Kaffegata behind my mother Grethe.

This is my Grandfather - Simon Andreas Johannesson Holter - 1898-1969.  He dared in 1941.  I think he belived in freedom for everyone, he was strict - very! and he was conservative...I think.

Have a nice day - where ever you are and enjoy...Hipp Hipp Hurra!

I Turned 5 Months

I had my fifth months anniversary strolling! with Nichlasen and Bendichte.  We usually take a long walk after 8 pm.  This evening we did Ottestadstien to Utvandrermuseet.  Since I havn't seen real water - we took a "uturn" down to Mjøsa - you know - Norway biggest lake.  You also see the contour of Vikingskipet - it was build to The Winter Olympics in 1994 - the very best - ever - winter games!!

...enjoy...

10 april 2010

It's April...already!

This is my little puppy Varg.  He just love the snow.

Varg is a Swedish Lapphund and he has a brother and a sister.  You can read more about his Sabmebæna family here.

Varg is a playful, stubborn and loving little puppy.  He loves beeing outside in the garden, barking at anything that "moves" from leaves to me!  We're having a long ang good stroll every night.  He likes dried fish, bones and playing with his water.  He's one happy dog!
The best thing about Varg - well to me - he is not a morning dog!
Enjoy your day...
