Happy Birthday Mini Slimline

Hello crafty friends and welcome to my blog! Today I am up on the Kat Scrappiness blog with a clean and simple mini slimline birthday card using some of the latest products from the shop.

I started out by die cutting the Mini Slimline Chevron Coverplate out of some pretty teal paper and backed it with a piece of white card stock.
I used the Happy Day Stamp Set to stamp out Happy Birthday on to a circle cut with the
Double Stitched Circles dies in the same teal paper.

What card would be complete without some pretty embellishments? I finished this card off with some pretty pearls from the Silver Pearl Mix.

I just love how this card came out and it was so quick and easy. Kat Scrappiness has hundreds of products to help you with your card making and scrapbooking so head over to the shop and check it out!

Make sure to check out the sale going on right now on Enamel Dots!

Rainbows and Coffee

Good morning Coffee Lovers! Welcome back to my blog! Today I have another caffeinated creation that I made in my I.C.U. (Intensive Coffee Unit). I'm especially fond of the color scheme on today's card.

I'm up on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog today and here is my card.

Rainbows have always been one of my favorite things ever since I was a little kid.  I used to love the traditional ROYGBIV order but since I got into card making and using more than just the traditional rainbow, I've discovered even prettier color schemes.  My favorite of all has to be the coral and teal color scheme. For my card today I used the Rainbow Stitches and Strings bundle from Concord and 9th and paired it with a sweet little cup of coffee. I just love the warm feel this card has!

I just love all the new pearl mixes at Kat Scrappiness and the Apricot Pearl Mix was the perfect addition to this card. There are so many colors and they are just beautiful!

Thanks for stopping by today and spending some time in my I.C.U.

I'll be seeing you again real soon for more caffeinated inspiration!

Have a great day, I already am!

Love and Coffee

Hello and welcome back to my blog!
It's my day to take over the Coffee Loving Cardmaker's blog again and I have a double shot of iced coffee to share with you today! I have been obsessed with the Shaken Iced Espresso from Starbucks lately and I don't usually like their coffee because it's too strong. This particular drink is perfect though and I can't get enough! I found a video by Nichol Spohr on YouTube that shows how to make the perfect iced coffee and I've made quite a few cards lately using it.
Here is a link to her video if you are interested:
These coffee cups come out looking so realistic!

Here is my card for today, check out the card recipe below:

For my card I started with a piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock and I cut out a panel using the largest die from the Kat Scrappiness Stitched Rectangle Dies. I wanted a soft color in the background so I used my Domed foam applicators to apply a light covering of Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink.

The next step was to prepare my coffee cups. I used the Honey Bee Coffee Break Dies and some Ground Espresso Distress Oxide Ink mixed with Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide Ink to give the appearance of iced coffee. I intentionally left the bottom of the color light to make it appear like the cream at the bottom of the cup. Nichol's video has great step by step instructions to achieve this look. I sprinkled water over the ink to make it look more realistic. For the foam at the top of the cup I used a Snow Marker to give a puffy foamy effect and I love how it turned out!.

Once I knew where I wanted the placement of the coffee cups I placed my card front into my Mini MISTI stamping tool and stamped my sentiment from the Technique Tuesday Perk Up stamp set with Versafine Black Onyx Ink. That is my favorite black ink for stamping sentiments because it stamps so crisp and dark! All that was left to do was to pop the coffee cups up on some foam tape and add some fun red hearts.

Thank you for joining me today, make sure you try this technique on your own coffee cups and watch Nichol's video for some helpful tips!

Have a great today, I already am!

Coffee with Friends!

Hello coffee lovers and welcome back to my blog! Today I am up on the Coffee Loving Cardmaker's blog and I have a treat to share with you!

The Colorado Craft Company has a set of coffee loving mice and they are just too cute! The talented artist Anita Jeram has designed some new stamp sets for them and she draws the most whimsical characters! You might recognize her name as she is the talented artist who illustrated the popular children's book Guess How Much I Love You and many others!

My card today features a darling image from the Colorado Craft Company's stamp set titled
Coffee House. If you are familiar with Jeram's artwork you will recognize her whimsical style in these images. There are also dies to match these images but I did not use them for my card.

Aren't those mice just the cutest! I just love how excited they are over that cup of coffee. I imagine after Covid many of us would be excited to have coffee with friends again in person!
Here is a picture of that sweet stamp set.

I made my own stencil for this card using the Distressed Edge Rectangle Dies from Kat Scrappiness.
I cut the third largest die from that set out of some stencil material and placed the negative piece over a piece of watercolor paper. Then I took Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink and did some quick watercoloring over the panel. Once it dried I removed the stencil and had the distressed edge design perfectly masked off.

After the panel was completely dry I placed it into my MISTI and stamped the image and sentiment with Versafine Black Onyx ink a few times. The watercolor paper was very textured and thick so I had to stamp a few times to get a good impression.  I popped the stamped panel on to an A2 size card base with some foam tape and the card was done. For a fun embellishment I glued one heart on to the coffee cup from the Trinity Stamps Coffee Bean Heart Sprinkle Mix. I just love that extra bit of character it adds!

Here is one more look at my card with the supplies used.

Thanks for stopping by today and make sure to have coffee with a friend soon!
Have a great day, I already am!

Hello all! I'm up on the Kat Scrappiness blog today with a mini slimline card featuring lots of new goodies from the new release! Since Father's Day is coming up soon I decided to make a card using some of the fun beachy elements from the new Summer Fun Essentials Dies.  I'm in love with those cute flip flops and for this card I cut them out of burlap to give them a more rugged masculine look. I also used distressed a couple of starfish to match the theme!

And now for the star of the show, the Happy Father's Day Word Dies With Shadow! I just love how the addition of the shadow layer behind the words really makes the sentiment stand out! I used the Lumber Yard Slimline Paper Pad for the shadow layer behind the card. To add some extra interest to the card I added some Espresso Pearl Mix because why not?!

Coffee With My Dad!

Hello Coffee Lovers!
I'm up on the Coffee Loving Cardmaker's Blog today and since Father's Day is coming up this month, I thought it would be fun to make a caffeinated card for my dad!

We love to go to Starbucks together for some coffee and a chat. His favorite hot drink was always an Americano with Breve Foam but recently he changed his order. On our last visit I noticed a drink on the menu that looked delicious called a Shaken Iced Espresso and I was right..... it was DELISH! My dad was inspired to try a cold drink like mine for a change so he ordered a Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino and he was immediately hooked! It's nice to hang out having our favorite caffeinated beverages and talk about life!

The new release at Super Sponsor Kat Scrappiness has the perfect Father's Day die and it is perfect for a slimline sized card!

for this slimline card.

The base layer of the card was cut out of some patterned paper using the largest die from the
Zig Zag Nesting Slimline Dies and I added some Mocha Pearl Mix for some extra embellishments because why not?

Here is one more look at the card with all of the supplies I used.

I hope my dad likes his card, I certainly enjoyed making it and I look forward to our next Starbucks visit so we can sip and chat!

Have a great day, I already am!

You Warm My Heart

Hello Crafty Caffeinated friends! It's another day up on the Coffee Loving Cardmaker's blog and today's card will warm your heart..... literally!

Today's card features a trio of darling little coffee to go cups and a sweet little heart on each koozie!

One of my favorite coffee cup dies is from a company that is no longer in business. Top Dog Dies made this adorable little coffee to go cup die and I just love the little scalloped koozie in this set. It's just so dainty! I especially love the little heart that goes in the middle and I covered the hearts in sparkly Star Dust Stickles for some extra bling!

The sentiment on the card is from the Honey Bee Perfect Blend stamp set. I cut the sentiment into 2 parts so I could split it up on the card. I placed my cups on a panel that I cut out using the Wonky Stitched Mini Slimline die from Kat Scrappiness.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I'm so glad I could warm your heart today!

Hello Anya!

Hello and welcome back to my blog! It's my day again up on the Coffee Loving Cardmaker's blog and I have another caffeinated creation to share with you!

Today's card has a short story behind it. During the recent Coffee Lover's Hop I spied an adorable card that I fell in love with by a fellow card maker named Suzanne. She posted her card on Instagram and the minute I saw it I knew I had to have the adorable stamp that she used.
Here is a link to Suzanne's sweet card.

Not only did I fall in love with Suzanne's card but I ordered the stamp and picked her card as my designer pick at the end of the hop! The adorable stamp is called Coffee Cup Anya and it is from the Greeting Farm. It's an older stamp but I was lucky enough to find it at Simon Says Stamp.
Here is my card with sweet Anya popping out of her coffee cup!

This was a pretty easy card to put together. I stamped and colored Anya with Copic markers and used the Stitched Rectangle Dies from Kat Scrappiness to cut out a few different size panels to matt her and my patterned paper onto. The pretty plaid paper is from the Doodlebug Made With Love patterned paper pack.
I finished off my card with some pretty Glacier Sequins by Lucy.

I love being inspired by other card makers. It's always fun to find a new stamp to play with and this little coffee girl was a nice addition to my collection!

Thanks for stopping by today and make sure to spend some time browsing your favorite crafty friends social media to get some inspiration and leave some love!

Say Cheese!

Hello crafty friends, today I am up on the  Kat Scrappiness blog with another adorable quokka card for you! I used the selfie loving quokka stamp from the Quokka'n Up stamp set to make this mini slimline card.

I just love how this little guy is taking a selfie with his selfie stick! I placed him in the polaroid frame stamp from the Quokka'n Up stamp set and the "Say Cheese" sentiment is from that set as well.
I am loving the size of the mini slimline cards and  Kat Scrappiness has a great assortment of mini slimline dies. There are some new styles coming to the shop in mid April so make sure you join the Kat Scrappiness Insiders group on Facebook to stay alerted to new product releases, sales and coupons!
Fort this card I used the Mini Slimline Wonky Stitched Dies and I layered a fun piece of patterned paper on top of it to match my polaroid frame.

I also added an extra sentiment to the bottom of the card from the Everyday Brush Strokes stamp set. I thought it went well with the Say Cheese sentiment.
To add a little more interest to my card I added some fun confetti sprinkles in 3 different colors to match my patterned paper.

Lime Green Confetti Sprinkles

Bright Yellow Confetti Sprinkles

Light Blue Confetti Sprinkles

I love to pour out my sprinkles into Kat's Triangle Embellishment (Sorting) Trays to make them easy to pick up and apply to my cards. There is also an awesome Embellishment Organizer that can hold up to 64 different embellishments. It's a great way to organize your sequins, confetti and sprinkles all in one place and to see them at a glance!

Here's a look at all of the supplies I used on my card today.

Thanks so much for joining me today, make sure to check out  Kat Scrappiness for all of your crafty needs. There's quokka's and mini slimline dies and TONS of embellishments to choose from!

Hooray for the Graduate!

Hello crafty friends! It is April and that means graduation season is upon us!
My daughter Brooke is graduating this month with her Bachelors in Social Work and I couldn't be more proud!

I am up on the  Kat Scrappiness  blog today and I have a very bright and colorful card to share with you. What better way to celebrate a graduate than with a gorgeous rainbow to show them how bright their future will be?

Kat Scrappiness has a fun rainbow die called After the Rain  and it cuts out 7 individual arcs for your rainbow. I chose to only use 6 arcs for my rainbow in the interest of space but you could add one more arc and use any color palette you like.  I made a similar card previously with a pastel color scheme and it came out lovely!

To start off with I took a sheet of white card stock and cut out a panel using the largest die from the Stitched Rectangle Dies and I stenciled on a beautiful cloud background for my rainbow. Once I was happy with how the clouds looked I began adding in my rainbow one arc at a time.

I wanted to add a couple of stitched clouds to my card so I used the Stitched Puffy Clouds and die cut 3 of the 4 different sizes to add around my card. I made sure to hang one cloud off the side of my card for a more organic look.

For the sentiment on my card I knew I wanted a big bold die cut in black and white so the Hooray with Shadow Die was the perfect addition. This die comes with 2 layers so you can cut out a shadow for your word and it was just what this card called for. I added a smaller sub-sentiment to make this a graduation card in black and white as well.

The only thing left to do was add some sparkle and shine so I reached for the
Tear Shaped Water Droplets to decorate this pretty rainbow with.

I also used the Embellishment Pick Up Tool and the Embellishment Sorting Tray to help me apply all of the clear droplets. These 2 tools make for such easy placement of embellishments and the embellishment tray is triangular which makes clean up a breeze. All those tiny droplets just fall back into the bag with ease because of the shape of the tray.

Here's one final peak at my card for today with all of the supplies used. I hope you'll check out all of the fun products in the  Kat Scrappiness store and make a rainbow card for that special someone who could use a happy colorful rainbow!
