Sprinkled with Happiness

This is my first post for 2021 for the Coffee Loving Cardmakers so Happy New Year and welcome to my blog! Today I have a fun card for you using my favorite color cardstock. I just love using kraft cardstock and today I did some fun stenciling with a large polka dot stencil!

Here is my caffeinated card for today:

For this card I used a slimline card base using Papertrey Ink Raspberry Fizz Cardstock cut to 8 1/2" x 7" and scored at 3 1/2". The next layer was cut using the largest die in the
Kat Scrappiness Fancy Stitched Scalloped Slimline Dies out of Papertrey Ink Kraft Cardstock.

Now it was time to have fun with stencils. I used the Kraft Cardstock one more time to cut a smaller panel than the slimline one and I took the Trinity Stamps Lots of Dots Slimline Stencil and some Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink and blended some fun dots with my blender brush. It came out so perfect, it reminded me of patterned paper.

The cute coffee mug is from the MFT Stamps LLD Hot Cocoa Cups Die-Namics and the sweet little donut is from the My Creative Time We're Better Together set (now retired). I added some sparkly Stickles to the heart on the mug and the donut sprinkles.

The sentiment from the My Creative Time We're Better Together set was stamped onto a kraft panel cut using the smallest die from the Kat Scrappiness Stitched Rectangle Dies and popped up on foam tape over a piece of Raspberry Fizz card stock to match the card base.

For the finishing touch I added some beautiful Kat Scrappiness Sparkling Clear Jewels around my card for some pretty bling and shine!

I just love the color combination on this card and the cute little mug and donut! I hope you enjoyed my card today and I hope your day is Sprinkled with Happiness!

May 2021 bring you lots of Happiness as well!

Have a great day, I already am!

Miss You A Latte

Hello and welcome to my blog!
Twice a month on Tuesdays I welcome you into my ICU where I share my caffeinated projects for the Coffee Loving Cardmakers.  You see here on my blog, ICU is actually short for the "Intensive Coffee Unit" so it's an ICU that someone just might want to hang out in!

Today I have a special treat to share with you.
I used a digital image from a company called The Paper Nest Dolls for my card.

The Paper Nest Dolls  is an online stamp shop that carries the most adorable doll stamps that are hand drawn by the owner of the shop. She fashions the dolls after her children and they are super sweet. The image that I used is actually a digital image and those images can be found here → Paper Nest Dolls Digital Images.
The image I chose to used for today's card is called Avery with Coffee (without glasses).
Here she is printed out before and after I colored her up with my Copic markers.

Digital images are a lot of fun to use because you can print them out in any size you want. I print the images out with my laster printer so I can use my Copic markers to color them and the ink won't smear.
I just fell in love with this adorable little girl and all her curls.

I decided to use one of my favorite Coffee dies from Kat Scrappiness called the Layered Coffee Cup die to anchor my cute little doll on my card.  I wanted my coffee cup to have a matching heart on it like on Avery's cup so I used a small stitched heart from the Flip Flop die set from My Creative Time.
I cut it out using Berry Sorbet card stock from Papertrey Ink. The notebook paper under the coffee cup is from a patterned paper pack called Pencil Me In also from Papertrey Ink. I'm currently obsessed with that paper pack! The stitched edging around the patterned paper is from the Stitched Rectangle Dies from Kat Scrappiness, I cut the kraft paper with that die as well.

I got my sentiment from an older MFT stamp set called a la modes Miss You a Latte and I stamped it in Berry Sorbet ink to match the stitched heart on the coffee cup.

As with all my cards I always feel the need to add a few embellishments for some extra interest so I made a small bow with some Lawn Fawn Aquamarine twine using the Bow Easy.
I saw a video the other day where someone made a bow using the Bow Easy and they made it look so easy!  I knew I just had to have one! Lucky for me the Stamp Simply Ribbon store had one in stock. It's an older item and I wasn't sure if I'd be able to find it.
What card would be complete without 3 cute little Teal Jewels from Kat Scrappiness. Seriously those jewels are some of my favorite embellishments!

Here's one more look at my card with all of the great products I used to make it!

It never fails to amaze me how many products can go into one card! I loved making this card!

Thanks for joining me today in my ICU!
Have a great day, I already am!

Monster Hug in a Mug!

Good morning and welcome to my ICU!
I am up again today on The Coffee Loving Cardmaker's Blog and I've got a couple of coffee mugs filled with really cute monsters just for you!

These adorable monsters are from the Monster Love stamp set by Trinity Stamps.  The coffee mugs are from the Hot Cocoa Cup Dies by My Favorite Things. I decorated them using the Trinity Coffee Bean Background Stencil.  I just love that stencil because it comes with 2 different stencils and you can give each bean 2 different colors.  It's so much fun! The sentiment is from a Gerda Steiner stamp set called Coffee Monsters.  For the frame around the sentiment I cut out a small
Zig Zag Rectangle Die from Kat Scrappiness.
I just think those monsters are super cute popping out of those mugs!

I colored them with my Zig markers and cut a slit in my coffee mugs so they could sit inside them.  I also gave them lots of white polka dots for some extra fun!  I hope you enjoyed this fun card today.  It certainly put a smile on my face when I was making it!

Have a great day, I already am!

Hogs and Kisses

Hello crafty friends and welcome to my blog!
That sweet piggy card is my entry for this week's
The sketch is #434 and it looks like this:

I decided to try my hand at no line coloring.
I love the look of it but for me it's harder than it looks.
I don't completely love how my little piggy came out but
I don't hate it either...... that's a start right?
I used the My Favorite Things
Piggy Pebbles stamp set.
I just love Stacey Yacula's artwork, she is so talented!
I used my Zig markers for the watercoloring and a fun Simon Says Stamp
raindrop stencil for the background.  The clouds are from my favorite
Papertrey Ink cloud dies.

What a fun sketch this week at the MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge.
See you next Wednesday!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day,
I already am!

Faux Sand for the Caffeinated Crab with Video

Welcome back to my blog friends!
I am up on the Rabbit Hole Designs blog today with another fun card!
I have a card and video to share with you that features a new
technique I recently learned.  I have a way to turn plain kraft card stock
into faux sand! It's so easy to do and so much fun!
Thank goodness for the crafty goddesses that pave the way,
I learned this technique recently from watching a video
by Koren Wiskman where she made the cutest Travelocity gnome.
Her videos are super funny and helpful!
All you need is some paint splatter and some shimmer mist!
I wanted to used the Caffeinated Crab on my card today and I thought
that the perfect background for him was some beach sand!
I even filmed a short video to show you how easy the process is.

The card construction is pretty simple.
I stamped and watercolored 3 tired crabs and used my scan n cut to cut them out.
Once I had the crabs ready to go I also cut out 3 seashells to layer behind them.
I used the Bold Stripes Cover-Up die from My Favorite Things for my background.
It was the perfect die since it had lots of slits in it which was perfect for
slipping my crabs behind.  I stamped #crabby next to each crab and the card was done!

Here is a closeup of the sand so you can see the detail.

See... easy peasy card construction but the fun part was the sand.
Here is a short video to show you how you can make your own!
You can watch it here or on YouTube.

Otterly Lost Without You

Hello crafty friends and welcome to my blog!
Today I decided to play along with the
The sketch is #433 and it looks like this:

Last night my mom and I were coloring some otters from the
When I saw the sketch today I knew right where to put
those cute little guys!
I did a little stenciling behind them with the new
Feathered stencil from Taylored Expressions.
The added embossing gives the card some dimension.
I am loving how this card turned out, sometimes it
just all falls into place.

Loving playing along in the MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenges!
See you next Wednesday!

Watercoloring Over Gold Embossing

Hello crafty friends and welcome to my blog.
Today I have a beautiful card to share with you using two beautiful
 Pretty Pink Posh stamps sets!
I absolutely love making floral cards and one of my favorite techniques
is watercoloring over gold embossing. I think it is such an elegant look!
Today I used the Pretty Petunias florals and the Everyday Greetings stamp sets
to make this beautiful garden inspired card.
Lately I've been crushing on this pink and orange combination.
I used 4 different color Distress Inks on this card:

I started off by stamping my flowers in Versamark Ink on to watercolor paper
It's hard to get a good impression on watercolor paper and the
MISTI helps with stamping over and over in the same spot!
I sprinkled WOW gold embossing powder over the Versamark and
melted it with my heat gun.  The gold embossing makes it so easy to watercolor
and stay in the lines. After I watercolored the flowers and leaves I did a light wash
of Peacock Feathers all over the card around the flowers.
I took the Thank You sentiment from Everyday Greetings and stamped it in the
center of the floral panel in Versafine Black Onyx Ink.
I used the scalloped frame die from the My Favorite Things Blueprints 20
die set to cut out my floral panel and layered it on a gold foil background.
To finish off my card with some sparkle and shine I used some
Clear Sparkling Jewels from Pretty Pink Posh.

Here is a closeup of the card so you can see all the gold shimmer from
the embossing and the foil card stock.
I just love that gold shine!

I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday
challenge this week.  The theme is No Designer Paper.
Instead of designer paper, I made my own background with pretty flowers.

Thanks for joining me today, I hope you enjoyed
my card and will come back soon for more crafty card

Lovely Florals

Hello again crafty friends!
I love floral cards but I don't make them nearly enough!
I had so much fun playing along with the MFT sketch challenge
last week, I thought I'd play along again!
I was so excited to win last week and I did some fun crafty shopping
(plus a little more)πŸ˜‰ in the MFT store!
What a generous prize!
Today I have some pretty My Favorite Things
flowers to share with you.
This card was originally made for the MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #431
originally but I also noticed that The Card Concept Challenge #112 theme
is Cottage Florals right now so I am entering this card in both challenges.

I used the Watercolor Flowers and the Delicious Birthday stamp sets
from My Favorite Things for my card.
After playing ink pad roulette for a while, I finally came up
with a combination of colors from Stampin Up and Papertrey Ink
that I liked for the flowers and leaves.
I finished the card off with some pink Nuvo drops.
I love how this card turned out, it's very pink and
dainty, my favorite type of card!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #430

Hello crafty friends and welcome to my blog!
Today I decided to play along with the
The sketch is #430 and it looks like this:

For my card I wanted to use those adorable piggies from the Hog Heaven stamp set.
I thought they would look good spread across the card to match the sketch!
I placed them on some washi tape to match the sketch and finished off the card with
a sentiment from the same stamp set.
I stamped the sentiment on to an MFT Speech Bubble die cut and positioned it under
the middle piggie so he could have a place to rest his arms.

Thanks for stopping by today, so glad I got to play along this week!
Have a great day, I already am!

Happy Little Stampers March Watercolour Challenge

Hello crafty friends and welcome back to another Watercolour challenge
over at the Happy Little Stampers blog!
This month the theme is anything goes with an optional "Mist" twist.
Here is my card for this month.

For my card I decided to do some watercoloring with Distress Inks.
I used the Stitched Flowers dies from My Favorite Things and
I watercolored a few panels with different combos of inks
and then cut out a bunch of flowers to play with.
I randomly paired them up so I'd have lots to choose
from and I picked my 3 most favorite flowers for my card.

For the base of my card I cut a piece of card stock from some PTI
Hawaiian Shores. I used one of the dies from the
place my flowers on.
For some added texture I embossed that panel with
the Fancy Floral Coverplate also from Kat Scrappiness.
Before I added the flowers I misted the panel with some
distress ink splatters in Picked Raspberry and Peacock Feathers.

Come join us for the Happy Little Stampers Watercolour Challenge this month!

Happy Little Stampers February Watercolour Challenge

Hello crafty friends and welcome back to another Watercolour challenge
over at the Happy Little Stampers blog!
This month the theme is anything goes with an optional "Metallics" twist.
Here is my card for this month.

For my card I decided to do some watercoloring with Distress Inks and since the
theme this month is metallics I heat embossed my image with
gold embossing powder before I colored it.
I chose one of my favorite flower stamps from the 2018 Stamp-A-Faire
with Papertrey Ink. Betsy Veldman designed a beautiful stamp set called
Painted Poppy and it is just perfect for watercoloring!
First I stamped the poppy with Versamark Ink onto a watercolor
panel that I cut with a die from the My Favorite Things
Stitched Jumbo Fishtail Banner.
Next I heat embossed the flower with WOW gold embossing powder.
I used 4 different distress inks in these colors for my flower:
and
I also stamped the "thank you" sentiment from the Painted Poppy set in
Crushed Olive distress ink to match the card.

For the base of my card I die cut a piece of paper from some PTI
Rustic Cream card stock. I used the largest die from the
For some added texture I embossed that panel with
a script patterned embossing folder.
I adhered the watercolor panel on the diagonal and finished
off the card with some rustic twine.
I love using distress inks to watercolor, there are so
many gorgeous colors to play with!

Happy Little Stampers ATC January Challenge

Hello everyone!
I am back again with the

Every month Happy Little Stampers has an
ATC challenge and the theme for January is Vintage.
For anyone who isn't familiar with ATC cards, they are mini
works of art that measure 2.5" x 3.5" and are traded around the world.
Usually they are numbered and signed on the back by the artist.

For my vintage themed ATC I decided to use a large My Favorite Things script word stamp
on the background of my card and do some stenciling over it with a Heidi Swapp decorative stencil.
For some extra interest to the background I stamped from vines from a Lawn Fawn
set and a rose in the bottom corner from Papertrey Ink.
The 4 hearts down the center were punched out of some script background patterned paper
also from Papertrey Ink and decorated with a 3-D rose on each.
To finish off my card I inked the edges of the card and the hearts
with Vintage Photo distress ink.

I hope you'll play along with us this month
and enter the ATC challenge at
The winner for this challenge will receive a badge to display on their blog!

I am also very excited to announce that this month my daughter
Taylor is joining us on the HLS ATC team and has designed her
very first gorgeous ATC card!

planner layouts on her blog here:

Get Creative Challenge - #75

Hi everyone!  I'm back today with another project for

The challenge for November for the pink team is Anything But A Card and goes from 11/5 - 11/30. Thank you to Paper Nest Dolls for sponsoring the challenge this month! They really have some of the cutest digi dolls around! Since the theme is Anything But A Card this month I chose to make a tag and I used the adorable Bee Happy Emma doll.

I colored her with copic markers and gave her lots of stickles sparkle and shine! The sentiment, the gorgeous black ribbon and the gold sequins are all from Paper Sweeties

Bee Happy stamp set - sentiment
Gold Sequins - sequins

I used Wild Honey distress ink with a Papertrey Ink stencil to give the background a honeycomb look and I added some hexagon dies from My Favorite Things for some extra added detail.
Kat Scrappiness has all of the Distress Oxide Inks on sale so head over there and check them out!
They also have a wide variety of embossing powders and I
used WOW Super Fine White on my sentiment to
make it stand out!

Scavenger Hunt Slippers Card πŸ˜‚

Ok first of all let me explain the blog post title...
First of all I know I can't be the only one who gets inspiration from odd places right? My card for today came from an interesting place.  I've had a really cute pair of slippers for a while and lately I've been thinking they would make a really cute coffee card. Here is a picture of the super cute slippers.

This brings me to the other part of my blog post title. The Scavenger Hunt...  To make this card I went on a scavenger hunt in my craft room.  Now I know you all have done that! I knew I had several coffee cup dies but I had to search for eyelashes, a mouth and steam.  That's where the fun began! Here's the card and then I'll tell you about the scavenger hunt results.

To start with I used the really cute coffee cup die from Cas-ual Fridays because I adore the heart shaped handle. One of my favorite things about the slippers is the silver glittery sparkled cup so that was easy! Next came the fancy eyelashes.  I looked far and wide but finally realized that the only thing I had was a Pinkfresh Studio stamp of eyelashes.  The easiest thing to do was stamp them and let my "scan-n-cut" cut them out for me.  Hand cutting was not an option....too detailed for me. The mouth came from a small circle punch that I cut and then cut into again to form a little mouth. Moving on to the steam, I tried several methods including using white paint to make the steam and only succeeded in making a messπŸ™„ I finally remembered that I had a My Favorite Things coffee cup die set with steam dies, so much easier than paint!  The cute alphabet dies came from Jaded Blossom and I did a little bit of surgery to alter some of the letters to get that random whimsical look. The background for the card is some Hawaiian Shores Bitty Big striped paper from Papertrey Ink.
Well that's the card for today.  I am entering it into the
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge this week since the theme is anything goes.

I hope you are all enjoying your week!
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day,I already am!
