Birthday bash!

Wednesday, October 21, 2009

Even with all the other fun holidays coming up, a lot of us still have to think about birthday parties! These little events just go all year round. Never a moment's break, is there? Well never fear—if you're looking to throw together a cute birthday party, we've got some great suggestions for you. Our designer Lindsey used the Nonsense paper kit from We R Memory Keepers to create this festive and fun look. And right now we've got a great bundle kit for Nonsense (for the girly look) and MVP (for the boyish look). Check it out here!

Anyway, the pictures say it all.

Kinda makes you wish it was YOUR birthday party, huh?

Who's ready for school?

Monday, August 17, 2009

You remember what it's like. Starting school up for the first time. It's a big deal!! And then with each new year, there's always a sense of excitement over the brand new scene, friends, and teachers. What better way to document new year anticipation and jitters than through a scrapbook page? We've got some lovely ideas. However, first we'd like to show you the back to school contest winners that we announced on Facebook last week. The lucky winners received the Teacher's Pet scrapbook kit from Imaginisce.

Here's an awesome teacher appreciation gift made by winner Jennifer. She filled it with gift cards, post-its, colored pencils, hand sanitizers and lots of other goodies to help the teachers make it through the school year:

And our next winner, Carol, makes a notebook like this for her granddaughter every year. We're loving the Cuttlebug action throughout the whole thing:

We just love getting great submissions from our fans! Be sure to follow our Facebook page because we are continually announcing fun contests, and they always have a great prize that go with them!

Now, on to our great finds. We're pretty sure you'll love these first-day-of-school scrapbooked memories—because we do!

Here's a darling layout we found from Basic Grey:

Another super-cute layout that we really like is from Scenic Route:

And naturally, we wouldn't leave you without a mountain of Cricut ideas—cute looks we found in the Provo Craft idea gallery. This first one uses the Base Camp cartridge:

And this idea is perfect for school days. It uses Makin' Grade and Going Places:

And finally, here's a page using Base Camp, Going Places, and George:

So there ya have it, crafters! May this new school year be a good one for mom, student and teacher!

Pssst!!! Here's a little P.S. for you—but don't tell anyone! Enter code MM20 for 20% off any order! But it's only good for a little while, so get crackin'!

Why we love the.....

Monday, August 3, 2009

We like to think of the Making Memories Slice Portable Cutter as a trusted friend: someone who is always going to be there. And it can be everywhere you are, because it doesn't even weigh two pounds! (Which—c'mon ladies, that's lighter than the average woman's purse!)

It's positively perfect for the casual crafter! Unlike most other die cutting machines—when updates come out for the Slice—there's no need to have to go out and buy another. You just upload the new frills and thrills onto the machine you already have. How's that for a breath of fresh air?

So ask yourself: Do I enjoy making cards? Is scrapbooking my thing? Do I want the freedom to head to a crop at the drop of a hat? If you answered "yes indeed" to any of these, then the Slice just might be your new BFF. It certainly has been making a lot of friends lately due to its portable characteristic. And by the way—it's cordless.

Here's a great tutorial of a project that you'll love making!

To celebrate our love for Slice—we're naturally offering a great deal for the Machine Starter Kit. AND—have you seen the new design cards that are available for pre-order? Check them out on our site!

To learn more about the Slice, take a few short minutes to watch this Slice overview.

See you next time!

What have you done with your i-top lately?

Monday, July 27, 2009

Okay i-top fans, check this out! One of our fans, Clare, created this super cute Cricut dust cover, which has a fun, innovative embellishment that she created with her i-top brad maker. Where'd she get it from? Yours truly.

To see more pictures and find out how she did it, you can visit her blog by clicking here.

The options are endless with the neat tools they have out there today, aren't they? Have you seen all the tools that WE love? Check 'em out, along with the amazing prices that go with them!

Happy crafting!

Doing anything outdoorsy this summer? Let's hope so! There's a whole world out there to see—and scrapbook about! Lots of families like to spend family vacations by camping, hiking, biking, you name it—as long as it's outdoors. We already published a quote bank filled with sayings on camping and hiking and swimming and fishing and such, so today we're here to present some quotes on nature. You know, that stuff you'll be enjoying while you're out on all your excursions? Well, we're loaded with good ones.

But before that, there's just a few items of business that you're probably going to be glad we told you. First off—the ship for our October Canada/New England crafting cruise is filling up! A few more inside cabins remain, but they're dropping like flies. So book your spot NOW so you can take part in all the fun. We had an absolute ball on our May Alaskan adventure, and things can only get better! Plus, if you want to enjoy nature, this is definitely one way to do it—it's going to look heavenly there in the fall time. In fact, several of the same ladies who joined us in Alaska are planning on coming to Canada and New England because they enjoyed themselves so much.

And speaking of cruises, how about a Caribbean one? Well your chance all revolves in that Cricut Ticket! And this weekend only, you can get the Cricut Ticket cartridges—Home Decor, Jubilee, Simply Sweet and Stand and Salute—at Oh My Crafts for $39.99! What a steal, right?

Okay, now on to our quotes:

What would Scrapbook Day be without our Slice?

Tuesday, April 28, 2009

With National Scrapbooking Day knocking at the door (we're only four days away!)—we at Oh My Crafts are getting ready by celebrating Slice-style. Why Slice, you might ask? Because today we'd like to commemorate machinery that is just as active as we, the people are. Although most would agree that the Cricut is a spectacular die-cutting device, it still has its limitations because it's bigger, and requires a cord. So that's why with Slice—everyone can have the best of both worlds! Although it's small, it packs quite a punch. It's portable and cordless, which makes it ideal for on-the-go cropping sessions, as well as projects right within the walls of your home. This little guy works its magic anywhere—and did we mention it can cut on any size paper? It's like the Cricut's trusted side-kick!

SO—with that being said, we've decided to make your life Slice-easy by offering some stupendous savings on everything Slice! For instance, Slice paper—$7.99. Slice cutting mats—$9.99. Spatulas—$3.49. The list goes on and on. AND, if you buy a Slice machine or bundle, you'll receive a nifty little rebate card which, upon completion, will grant you a FREE exclusive VIP design card! You'll need your receipt and UPC code, so be sure to hang on tightly to that.

Oh, and naturally we found some super-cute project ideas on www.WhySlice.com, and we're here to share a few with you today. Want more? They've got plenty ideas and video tutorials on their site. What better way to spend National Scrapbook Day than watching tutorials on the tricks of the trade of your newly purchased Slice tool? Oh, and keep in mind that Mother's Day IS coming! You'll be able to make hands-down darling gifts with your Slice.

The perfect touch is added to this gift box with
Basic Shapes 2 and 3 design cards.

This chic and modern look was accomplished with the
Fall/Back to School design card.

A darling frame, created with Animal Crackers and
Basic Shapes 2 design cards.

Here's a fun idea for a wall hanging using

This cutesy scrapbook page is as easy as can be
with the Basic Shapes 2 design card!

Are you looking for something to store all your Slice materials? We've got a solution for that too! Check out these stylish machine carriers and design card binders—also on sale. Just for you.
