πŸ’”A special Gift to get you in the Spirits of the things-Card🎁

Hello everyone Micette and Spooky Girl, with not a few technical problems here is another card for the OddballArtStamp Dt in which I interpreted some Halloween-themed digital stamps for a content not related to this party. It happens to everyone to give some unappreciated gift, it is inevitable, with this card I wanted to exorcise, in a humorous way, the fear that one has of making a mistake on a gift and focus on the importance of the thought one had for the person who receives it.
To make it I used two sets of Digi Stamps :

I reworked them as usual with Photoshop and then printed on paper for Markers, I then printed the same image on masking paper to cover the colored drawing and proceed to create the background.

To create the background I used two masks I created to separate the wall from the floor and then I characterized the two different sides with stencils, one by AgaBaraniak and one by Tim Holtz, blending different colors of Oxide and drawing small details with white gel pens. and black.

Here are some basic tools I used, you don't just see masking paper.

NB. A little anecdote about the creation of the masks, when you spray the spray glue on the back of the paper to make it repositionable adhesive, it is good to do it a few hours before, if not the day before, otherwise you risk it being too sticky; in my case, having little time, I hadn't waited for these times, and when I went to remove the mask the glue took away the glitter of the nun's dress polka dots and left, here and there, some small residues, so be careful!

Well Micette and Spooky Girl that's all for today, I'm waiting for you for questions and comments on the Oddball Blogg and mine.

Tutorial - Trick or treat card wit alcohol inks

Hello Oddball lovers and happy Halloween!

Here is my newest card using awesome new CCC 128 This is Halloween image. Isn't the image so cute and inspiring?!

I also made you a tutorial how to do this card, so here we go..

So, grab synthetic paper and alcohol inks and start creating. Remember that the smell is pretty intensive, so make sure you have good ventilation.

1. Hold the paper upright and trickle the alcohol ink from over part (picture 1).

2. Do the same thing with multiple colours (picture 2).

3. Turn the paper (lower side up) and do the same thing with colours you like (picture 3).

4. Put the paper down and add some extender.

5. Put the baking paper (or similar) over the ink paper and smooth it with your hand (picture 4).

6. Take the baking paper away and the background is ready (picture 5). If you want you can do steps 4-6 multiple times.

Here is another technique (I used these both at my card):

1. Use some extender on your synthetic paper (I used spray bottle).

2. Drop various colours of alcohol inks to paper (picture 1).

3. Take a straw and blow the inks from different sides (picture 2).

4. You can do these steps multiple times if you want. My final creation is shown on picture 3.

Then you need to colour the stamp.  I used this beautiful CCC 128 It is Halloween digistamp and some pumpkins from CCC 125 Spooky Season and Members October Exclusive image. I coloured those with Promarkers, PromarkerBrush's and Copics.

Here is the colours I used (C= Copics, P= Promarkers):

Skin: Cinnamon, Tan, Putty, Satin, Almond (all P).

Hat & top: green - G99 (C), Forest green (P), Bright green (P), Lime green (P), YG03 (C), YG00 (C).

Hat, top, pumpkins: orange - Burnt orange (P), YR07 (C), YR04 (C), YR02 (C), YR000 (C).

Pants: BV29, BV08, BV17, BV13, BV02 (all C).

Hair & banner: BV08, BV17, BV13, BV02 (all C).

Bats:  Black (P), C7 (C), Cool grey 3-5 (P).

When colouring is done, cut the images.

If you want you can use cutting dies to make a frame (or something else) for you card.

Then just mix these all parts together and create your own card πŸ˜ƒ

And here again is the result where I ended up.

Wow, there was so much information. I hope you understood everything. English isn't my native language, so sometimes it's hard to find the right words. If you have any guestions just let me know!  And I hope to see your creations too, please post them to Oddball facebook group so everyone can admire those!

Frankenstein bookmark

Hello everyone!

This is my first post here on Oddball blog, but certainly not the last πŸ˜€

I wanted to show you a bookmark I made for my hubby. He loves to read horror stories so I think this suits well for him.

I used Frankenstein #92 digi stamp and coloured it with alcohol markers. I wanted to use little different skin colour for this (I have coloured many greens and greys), so I used blue-greens.

On the background I have used stencil, pasta, Distress Oxides and different sprays (it's made earlier this year). Then I wanted to add something to ribbons too, so there is now eyes and spiders and BLOOD (acrylic paint).

I hope this inspires you to do your own bookmarks. Happy reading an crafting moments to everyone!

Oh, almost forgot -  remember to use code DTMER1 on Oddball Art Website so you get 2 digi stamps and pay only one!

You might remember my last post when I made a paper doll using the October exclusive set. Today I have made another in the series.

Step One:

I found another small block of wood from my husband's stash.  Remember last time I stuck the pumpkins to it so that they would stand up.

This time I die cut a whole cluster of stars from Oddball Art Stamps Papers.
I made these into a background, sticking them onto a piece of backing card, for the little witch I then stuck them on the block.

Step Two:

I printed the image, coloured her with Copics and cut her out.
I then glued her in place in front of the stars using a strong glue!
I used a  black pen to create a shadow around her.

Step Three:

I printed the sentiment and die cut this with a smaller star, glued it in place and added some starry embellishments.

This week I decided to make a journal page

Step One

Apply acrylic paint to my journal double spread (grey, Speckled Egg Distress paint, white).
I added the dark colour first and moved through to lighter then lightest, using baby wipes to add the colour.

Step Two

I embossed some shapes using Versafine and white embossing powder. These were Stampin Up snowflake stamps.

Step Three

I added the trees embossing them with Speckled Egg Distress Ink and Weathered Wood embossing glaze.

Step Four.

I printed the images, coloured them with Copics and black pen and cut them out.
I then arranged them on the background.

Step Five.

Add some black pen doodling around the edges.

Happy Crafting!!

Crystals and gems πŸ’Ž

Happy Friday!

This week’s CCC newsletter is all about crystals and gems.

I don’t color crystals or gems very often but doing something new is always fun!

If you haven't done so already make sure you check your inbox for the most recent issue of Creepy Cute Chronicles Issue 101 or if you still need to subscribe you can go HERE where you will find a link to the most recent issue, this weeks free downloads (pictured above and below) and get your email address on the list so you never miss another issue!

This is how I did it!

First I colored the crystals with gel pens.

Start at the base with a dark color then use a damp paint brush to blend towards the point.

Add lighter colors as you move to the point.

For a good video tutorial see Vitruvian art on Youtube.

Cut out the colored crystal formation and trace it onto black card stock.

I used Brea Reese metallic crayon to create a glow, but I hated the lines so I turned it into a huge glow.

It isn’t what I wanted but it works!

I added a few opalescent sticker embellishments around the crystals.

Finally using the sentiment included in this set I distressed around the edges of the paper and attached just below the crystals to finish it all off.

This is the card I made using this weeks premium image by guest illustrator Eny Dunn (Doodledaisiesandink)

Party Time!

IMG_9747
Did you see that the 100th issue of Oddball Art's Creepy Cute Chronicles is launching tonight?  That's right, the 100th issue!  And celebrate this milestone, I am creating an extra special and large art project!  Today I have pulled out a full piece of 8.5x11 inches watercolor paper and combined this week's Creepy Cute Chronicles's free digital stamp and IMG443 Mermaid of the Stars and IMG434 Zombie Unicorn.  Because let's be honest, what's a party without a few of your closet friends!

IMG_9737
I started by printing out the CCC100, IMG443 and IMG434 digital stamps out onto watercolor paper.

IMG_9738
I then colored in each of the stamps with my Zig Real Brush water color pens.  I went vibrate with the Mermaid.

IMG_9739
I stuck to a pretty traditional color palette for the ghost, focusing on pale grays.

IMG_9740
For the Unicorn Zombie, I experiment with a pale purple and light gray to see if I could get an eerie feeling.  What do you think?  Was I close?

IMG_9741
Finally, I went with bold and bright colors for the banners, because lets be frank....it's a party.

IMG_9743
I then added a layer of Distress Oxide in Frayed Burlap around the edges of the massive project.

IMG_9744
I then added layers of paint over the ink to create a rust effect to lock in the digital images into the
paper.

IMG_9746
Finally I added several dollops of White Blizzard Nuvo drops around the project to add so sparkly (cause you know, it's a party).

IMG_9748
What do you think?  Is this a party you would want to attend?  Let me know in the comments below.

IMG_9749
And make sure you pop over to the Oddball Art Instagram Page.  The party will be continuing over there to celebrate the 100th issue of Creepy Cute Chronicles.
