LLLC - THANK YOU

Hey there, just popping in with this week's La-La Land Crafts challenge, Thanksgiving or Thanks.  I did a little of both by using Pilgrim Luka on a thank you card.

Luka was stamped with Tuxedo Black onto Neenah Solar White, colored with Copic markers, fussy cut then popped up on foam.  The background panel was sponged with Toffee Crunch then Peanut Brittle.  Peanut Brittle was splattered onto the panel with a paint brush, and a Sizzix die cut sentiment completes the card.

THANKS

Hey there, my mom recently had a lung biopsy and I wanted to give a couple of the nurses thank you cards.  They were wonderful, and I really appreciate how they went above and beyond to keep her comfortable.  These sweet birds are For the Birds from Tiddly Inks.  They're so cute and colored up pretty quick!

The challenge right now over on the Tiddly Inks blog is Primary Colorsso I pulled out my red, blue and yellow markers and thought I would play along.  The sketch, #125, is from Freshly Made Sketches.  Clean and simple...love it!  This card also fits into a couple of the challenges going on over at Splitcoaststampers right now:  The Cat's Pajamas, TCP Inspiration Challenge (bird houses = birds), and the Fan Club's Central Theme, You Raise Me Up (birds fly).

TAYLORED EXPRESSIONS BLOG HOP - DAY 2

Hey there, it's day 2 here at the Taylored Expressions Blog Hop.  Amazing projects from the TE Team yesterday, huh?  They always knock my socks off whenever I visit their blogs!  My project for today uses TE's Oops A Daisy stamp set for that beautiful flower, Posh Posies for that awesome font and the Key Ingredients Kit for that gorgeous paper.  Love how this card came together!  Nestabilities were cut in two sizes and while the Neenah cardstock was still in the die cut, it was sponged with Baja Breeze.  The solid-petal flower was also stamped in first and second generation Baja Breeze before the sentiment was stamped in Tuxedo Black.  The open-petal flower was stamped on Neenah with Tuxedo Black, colored with Copic markers, fussy cut then popped up on foam.  I went with another easy-peasy layout (shocker, right?), added a few rhinestones and called it good!

COPIC COLORING:

THANK YOU GIFT SET BOX

Hey there, do you remember that set of thank you cards that I posted for the April Studio Challenge?  Well after I knocked them around my desk for a couple days, I decided they needed a box!  While I was goofing around on Pinterest, I came across this box and was inspired to make my own.  Hers was for vertical cards and I wanted mine to be horizontal, so I played around and came up with a layout.  I used the same Acrylic Block Background technique as the cards and created a panel for the front.  The only difference is that I didn't use a sentiment and a Sparklet was used for a center on one of the flowers.  A bow keeps the box closed.

Here's what it looks like open...there is room for all four cards and envelopes.

And here are a couple of the cards with the closed box...it sure makes a pretty set!

Thanks for stopping by!

TAYLORED EXPRESSIONS APRIL STUDIO CHALLENGE

Hey there, it's time for the Baker's Dozen Studio Challenge (a monthly opportunity for the DT to share what makes our stamping studios hum...each month we're asked a fun, crafty question so we can share our favorite products, tips/tricks, stamping advice and more).

The question for April is:
Mix & Match!  TE stamp sets are designed with plenty of images and sentiments so they are "self-contained" for lots of creativity, but sometimes it's fun to mix and match several different sets for even more possibilities.  Your challenge is to create a project using three or more TE stamp sets.

Easy peasy...I love mixing stamp sets!  This was a super quick and easy project using the Acrylic Block Background technique and silhouette stamps.  Lucky for me, Taylor has a lot of sets that have solid (or silhouette) stamps!  I used the sentiment from Bless Your Nest because I absolutely love the font and who couldn't use a set of thank you cards, am I right!?!  The butterfly and some of the flowers/leaves are from Make it Amazing while the balance of the flowers came from Posh Posies.  The possibilities for mixing and matching the silhouettes are endless!  I wish you could see the subtle shine from the Glimmer Mist!  The layout is SCS CAS217.

Here's the inside...

That does it for me today, stop by the rest of the Baker's Dozen and check out their "mix and match" projects!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH

Hey there, I thought I would pop in and share a quick card I made with the March Taylored Expressions Deluxe Key Ingredients Club (Key Ingredients Club and Stamp of the Month Club combined) kit.  This kit makes it so easy to create beautiful projects without stressing over having to match papers with card stocks, etc.  Taylor takes the guess work out by providing pattern papers, card stock, ribbon and coordinating stamps!  Just can't beat that!

This was a very simple card.  The butterfly was stamped twice and cut out with the coordinating Make it Memorable dies (sold separately).  They were glued together and a rhinestone body completes the card.

TAYLORED EXPRESSIONS MARCH RELEASE DAY: OPEN SCALLOP BORDER

Hey there, congrats to the winners from last night's Preview Party (woohoo, Brenda...way to go!).  Today is Release Day and you know what that means...the March release is available in the Fresh Out of the Oven section of the Taylored Expressions store.  It's an amazing release, so happy shopping!

Today's project uses the new Open Scallop Border die and the Graphic Greetings Thankful A La Carte stamp.  I think this may be my favorite ALC so far.  The fonts are awesome and make for a quick and easy thank you card...gotta love that!  It was stamped on Neenah Solar White then the flower was colored with Copic markers.  I've really been into airbrushing lately so I airbrushed the entire panel.  It was quick, easy and a lot of fun!  I'm sooo in love with Doodlebug!  *swoon*  The bright, cheerful paper from their Fruit Stand collection just makes me happy!  A button and rhinestones complete the card.

Here's the inside...easy peasy...I just brought in a few elements from the front and called it good.

COPIC COLORING:
FLOWER:  Y17, Y15, Y11, Y0000  SENTIMENT PANEL:  Y17, Y15, Y11 (airbrushing)

TAYLORED EXPRESSIONS FEBRUARY SPOTLIGHTS: CALLA LILY BOUQUET & SILHOUETTE STEMS 1

Hey there, today is Spotlight Day and I'm sharing my favorite card for the February Release.  All of the stamps and dies for this release are now available in the Fresh out of the Oven section of the Taylored Expressions store.

I have two cards to share with you today.  The first is a Whimsical Wishes set that I fell in love with the second I saw it.  It's called Calla Lily  Bouquet and it's GORGEOUS!  Several years ago I planted THE most beautiful plum colored mini calla lilies in my yard.  Every year I love to watch them pop up!  A really good friend of mine had surgery a couple days ago to hopefully help with her chronic pain, so I made this for her.  She's really into flowers and gardening so this will be perfect!

The bouquet was stamped in Tuxedo Black, cut out with the out-of-the-box with a Nestie technique then colored with Copic markers.  The sentiment was stamped on a Designer Mini Tag and attached to hemp cord.

COPIC COLORING:
CALLA LILY:  RV66, RV63, RV55  FLOWER CENTERS:  C3, C1, C00  STEMS:  G07, YG25, YG21  VASE/WATER:  BG72, BG70  SHADOW:  C3, C1, C00

Selected as SCS Favorites ~ Best of 2013!

SUPPLIES:
STAMPS:  TE Calla Lily Bouquet
PAPER:  Neenah Solar White; Bazzill Raven Monochromatic
INK:  Copic markers; Memento Tuxedo Black
ACCESSORIES:  Spellbinders (Grand Calibur, Nestabilities Classic Squares Small, Classic Squares Large, Fleur De Lis Squares); Taylored Dies Designer Mini Tags; paper snips; Stamp-a-ma-jig; Black Hemptique Hemp Cord; Crafter's Pick The Ultimate glue; SU Dimensionals; adhesive
TECHNIQUE(S):  Out-of-the-box with a Nestie
SIZE OF FINISHED PROJECT:  5 1/4" x 5 1/4"

The last card features Silhouette Stems 1, Elegant Butterflies, Elegant Butterflies Overlays and a sentiment from the January Release.  I actually saw this technique on Pinterest and wanted to give it a try.  Silhouette Stems 1 was die cut out of the top panel and glued back into place popping up the flower heads on foam.  A sentiment from Bless Your Nest was stamped, the rhinestones were colored with a Copic marker then scattered around the card...the butterfly completes the card.  Hmmm...the pictures make it look like it's black and white only it isn't, it's purple and white.  Oh well!  And this completes my "white phase"...or will it?  Ha!

Here's a close up of the popped up flowers...

SUPPLIES:
