DTGD15sweetmissdaisy - HOGS & KISSES

Hey there, *squeal*...See what I did there?  Ha!  I finally get to show you this cutie pie!  I made this for Anna's (aka sweetmissdaisy) Dare To Get Dirty challenge.  Think you know what the challenge is?  Head on over to Splitcoaststampers and sign up to be a Fan Club Member to see specific challenge details.  LOVE this card!

Two tags were cut from Neenah Solar White to make up the main panel.  One was colored with Copic markers for the sky, while the other was cut with My Favorite Things Rolling Hills die before being colored and layered onto the sky tag along with that awesome fence!  The pig was stamped on the grass (so I wouldn't have to cut the tail) then two more were stamped on Neenah, colored with Copic markers then fussy cut. One was placed directly over the stamped pig and the other was adhered to the back of the tag.  The sentiment was heat embossed on black card stock.

MFT's Gingham Background stamp was used to stamp a fishtail tag then layered.  Twine and ribbon completes the card.  It doesn't get much easier than this, but it's cute, cute, cute!

COPIC COLORING:
PIGS:  R02, R00, R0000  GRASS:  G46, G43, G40  SKY:  B00, BG0000

TAYLORED EXPRESSIONS SPOTLIGHT: TAG POCKET

Hey there, I've got a super quick spotlight project to share with you this morning.  I'm totally loving the new Tag Pocket and created this little gift tag holder with it.  My son won't be home for Christmas this year, so I want to send him a gift card.  I know a gift card isn't necessarily that special, but we all know it's all about the presentation...am I right?

Since it is for my son, I wanted to keep it simple.  The Tag Pocket and Snowflake Cutting Plate were both cut from red card stock.  A glittery bow, cut from the Mix & Match Bows die, and a glittery brad brings interest to the project without making it too feminine.  Tag Stacklets 1 was used to cut pattern paper for the pullout tag.  An eyelet and ribbon completes the project...I hope he likes it!

SUPPLIES:
STAMPS:  TE Greetings for Him
PAPER:  Bazzill Watermelon Monochromatic; Doodlebug Design Inc. North Pole collection; Best Creation Inc. Lime Glitter card stock
INK:  Memento Tuxedo Black

SIZE OF FINISHED PROJECT:  3" wide x 4 3/4" high (not including the ribbon on the tag)

TAYLORED EXPRESSIONS AUGUST SNEAK PEEK: ZINNIA BOUQUET and BUILD A SCENE DIES

Hey there, Taylored Expressions August Release is soooo big, we had to start sneaking today just to get it all in!  My first project is Zinnia Bouquet and OMGosh...can I just say this stamp rocks?  *swoon*  I am looking forward to coloring this in full color, but the reason I went monotone with a splash of color...I'm participating in Splitcoaststampers (SCS) Virtual Stamp Night (VSN) Pop Goes the Weasel challenge.  The deadline was extended until Wednesday, due to the Dare to Get Dirty challenges, so there is still time to play!  Heidi challenged everyone to use neutral colors on the image with a pop of color.  I thought these zinnias would be perfect for that!

The image was stamped with Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic markers.  Everything was done in Cs or Ts for the exception of the orange flower.  Banner Stacklets1 was used add a splash to the corner and a couple buttons complete the card.

COPIC COLORING:

This is another project for SCS's VSN.  Lee's challenge, Winter/Summer is Here, is to make two tags...one for winter and one for summer.  It didn't take me long to figure out TE Build a Scene dies would be perfect!  Tag Stacklets 1 were cut for the bases of both tags, and each were sponged with Summer Sky, Bahama Blue and Paris Dusk (as was the seam binding ribbon).

After the base was cut and sponged, hills were cut with Build a Scene - Rolling Hills.  They were sponged with Pistachio then adhered to the tag base.  A scrap piece of paper was sponged with Dandelion, die cut then the edges were sponged with Cantaloupe.  The cloud from Build a Scene - Swirly Clouds was left white and everything was layered.  Easy peasy!

Winsor & Newton masking fluid was sprinkled onto the winter tag and left to dry before it was sponged.  Once that was done, Stickles were added to the Build a Scene - Mountain Tops for some glimmer.  Two snowflakes from the Make a Snowflake dies were cut and layered, but only the top snowflake has Stickles on it.  A Sparklet on top of the stacked snowflakes completes the tag.

DARE TO GET DIRTY TAG

Hey there, with all of my sample projects done and uploaded, I thought I would play around and combine a few of the challenges.  If you want to know specific details on the challenges, you'll have to head on over to Splitcoaststampers to find out.  This tag actually fits into the following challenges:
  • Mine (Tammie E)
  • Bev (BevMom)
  • Tiffany (tiffguam)
  • Vicki (summerthyme64)
  • Julie (jmasse)
  • Ardyth (Ardyth)
  • Latisha (1busymomof2) and
  • Stacy (JBgreendawn)
Pretty cool, huh?  All those challenges in one tiny tag...well, it's not so tiny, but still!

The tag was an extra that I had cut for another project but didn't use.  It was sprinkled with Windsor & Newton Colourless Art Masking Fluid and left to dry.  Once dry, it was sponged with Baja Breeze then the masking fluid was removed to reveal the snow-filled sky.  The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions Winter Wonderland set (such pretty fonts) and was also stamped in Baja Breeze.  The snowflake die cuts are TE Make a Snowflake and they are the perfect size!  The pink one was colored with Copic markers and gives this tag the pop of color that it needed!   Sparklets and rhinestones were scattered around the tag and  seam binding died with Baja Breeze completes it.

COPIC COLORING:
SNOWFLAKE:  R85, R83, R81

If you're an SCS Fan Club member, I hope you've been able to play along in the challenges this week...it's been a lot of fun!

DTGD131busymomof2 - ALL WRAPPED UP TAG

Hey there, I'm thrilled to be participating this year in Splitcoaststampers 8th Annual Dare to Get Dirty challenges!  DTGD is our way of saying thanks to the most amazing Fan Club members ever!  So what's this about, you ask?  Easy...it's all about you, silly!  Our Dirty Dozen Designers, both past and present, have gotten together and planned a super fun week for you!  Besides the stamping end of it, the girls will be hanging out in the chat threads waiting to dish the dirt!  Yep...if you've ever wondered how someone does something, ask away...we'd love to share our dirty little secrets with you!  Everyone will be able to see our DTGD projects, but only the Fan Club members will be able to see what the specific challenge details are or participate in the challenges!  Come join in the fun!  Not a member but want to be?  Not a problem...join here!  Ooohhhh...and did I mention prizes?  I thought that might have gotten your attention!  *grin*  Click here for more info!

This project is for Latisha's (1busymomof2) challenge.  Making tags can be so much fun especially if the tag is for Halloween!  Ever since I was a kid, I have loved Halloween...but it isn't because of the candy.  I just love dressing up and pretending to be someone else for a short amount of time.  I love the decorations (nothing too creepy though).  I just love the fun that comes with Halloween!

Mummy Cat, from Whipper Snapper Designs, was stamped with Tuxedo Black onto a scrap of Neenah card stock, colored with Copic markers then fussy cut and set aside.  A second cat was stamped onto a die cut tag that was cut from Neenah card stock before it was sponged with Sweet Plum and Elderberry.  The purple pattern paper and black border were also cut using the tag die then adhered to the white tag base.  Shadows were colored under the cat on the purple paper then the cat's head was popped up while the body was adhered directly to the tag.  Super easy...and cute!

COPIC COLORING:

JUN13VSNO - BEACH BUM!

Hey there, this was for my VSN challenge through Splitcoaststampers.  Since the overall theme was Dog Days of Summer, I thought we needed a dog enjoying the summer!  "BEACH BUM" was a photo inspiration challenge, and I was inspired by the dog wearing goggles, the beach theme, the title and the fun, bright colors.  The pooch I chose to use is called Harley, from Whipper Snapper Designs.  No getting around it...he's a stud!  *ha*

JUN13VSNK - EVENING SURF

Hey there, I'm behind in posting my project for the Dog Days of Summer Virtual Stamp Night (VSN) through Splitcoaststampers!  Ann's challenge, Bright Star, was to make a card with either a sunset or sunrise and include some kind of star somewhere on the front.  She also wants to know who the brightest star is in our life...well, that would be my hubby!  He's definitely a keeper!  *grin*

When I first read about Ann's challenge, I was a little freaked out thinking there's no way...but then I dug through my stamps and found The Big Kahuna from Whipper Snapper Designs.  He's the perfect little critter to have a sunset peeking from behind him.  I still needed to incorporate a star though...then I had a brainstorm!  I've had a little star sitting on my desk for about a month that I had scored and shaped and at the time, I thought it looked like a starfish.  I left it there thinking I would do something with it one of these days...today is the day!  The background was made with Bazzill card stock and the Swirls Cutting Plate from Taylored Expressions.  Talk about an easy, no fuss background!

TAYLORED EXPRESSIONS JUNE SNEAK PEEK: DELIGHTFUL DAY & TEACUP BOUQUET

Hey there, this is the last day of Sneak Peeks before the entire June Release will be available at (8am PST) in the Fresh Out of the Oven section of the Taylored Expressions store!  Woot!  Pretty awesome stuff so far, huh?  I have two more projects to share with you today.

This first one uses the previously released KI exclusive set, Delightful Day...woohoo, it's now available to everyone!  There are so many cool stamps and sentiments in this set!  The flower was stamped with Tuxedo Black on Neenah card stock then colored with Copic markers.  The layout was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest!  I'll definitely be using it again!

COPIC COLORING:
FLOWERS:    R08, R05, R02, Y17, Y15, Y11, Y00, BG70, YG41

SUPPLIES:
STAMPS:  TE Delightful Day

ACCESSORIES:  Spellbinders Grand Calibur; TE Taylored Dies (Simple Tabs); Stamp-a-ma-jig; ribbon from my stash; Micro Glue Dots; adhesive
SIZE OF FINISHED PROJECT:  A2 (4 1/4" x 5 1/2")

My second project is a tag that I made for my sister.  I'm so proud of her...she's in the process of buying her first home!  I can't wait to go shopping for a house-warming gift!  She has everything (household items) that she needs...so I'm leaning towards something for her garden.

If you've visited my blog before, you would know that I'm absolutely in LOVE with the Bouquet sets!  This one is no different!  Seriously...can you say gorgeous!?!  The flowers/teacup was stamped with Tuxedo Black and Colored with Copic markers.  Stickles were added to the flower centers.  The two biggest Tag Stacklets 1 were used for the tag.  I couldn't get them to line up and give me the perfect border, so I faked it!  I cut a scrap of pattern paper to the size of the smaller tag, then lined it up higher than the white panel closing the gap and giving the appearance of a perfectly spaced border.  So cool!  I wish I would have taken a picture of the back of the white panel with the pattern paper poking up so you could see exactly what I was talking about...hindsight!  Next time, for sure...I promise!

The single blossom was stamped, colored, fussy cut then attached to the Mini Tags die/Many Minis - Occasions sentiment.
