LIFE HAS IT'S UPS AND DOWNS

Gosh, it's hard to believe I haven't posted in two weeks.  Lots has happened...some good, some very sad.

We lost my sweet Russian artist friend, Vladimir, to cancer.
It's hard to put into words what this man meant to me.  I won't even try. He impacted my life in ways that I can not explain.

I will say something that I can not say about anyone else.

I saw Jesus in him.

I miss him.  Every day.

We've had lots of rain, but also lots of wonderful "spring like" days.  Thank you Lord.  Our trip to California is fast approaching, so I've enjoyed some days on our balcony soaking up the sun, reading good books and counting the days before we leave for Palm Desert.  We've had some great sunrises and sunsets too.  I love our view...it's ever changing :-)

I've just finished packing for a quick trip to see this sweet boy.  Can.not.wait!

BACK IN PARADISE

I arrived back in "paradise" on Sunday night just in time to see this glorious sunset.  Thanks for all your prayers.  Great news!  My daughter-in-love's father received wonderful news...the mass they removed from his spine was benign.  Praise God!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And guess what?  I played tennis on Monday!  Since my 3 month struggle with tennis elbow, I was anxious to play again.  Once I starting feeling like I could play, the weather and my recent trips have kept me off the court too.  I'm not 100% yet, but it sure feels good to be out there and playing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The fog returned this morning and then the rain came.  I think more rain is predicted for tomorrow, but then the sun returns.  Yes!

I don't know about you, but I'm ready for Spring!!!!!

STILL IN NASHVILLE

That's what my windshield looked like when I climbed in my car to make a grocery run this morning.  Yep, I'm still in Nashville ;-)
This Florida girl thought it was pretty cool.

The lab results aren't back yet, but the doctors feel pretty confidant that my DIL's father will be just fine.  The surgery to remove the mass was long and complicated, especially since the mass was around his spine.  They also fused 4 vertebra around the tumor area.  He was told to expect it to take up to 18 months to fully recover.  Thanks so much for all your prayers.  They were felt and appreciated.

In the meantime, I'm enjoying my time with the grandchildren (14, 12 and 10). If I haven't said it lately, we have the coolest grandkids.  Seriously.

After school work is finished, we're playing games and watching movies.   I've been reading a book out loud to the two girls and I don't know who's enjoying it more....them or me.  A very good book called BUD, NOT BUDDY.

I hope everyone is staying warm ;-)

PRAYER

I made an unexpected trip to Nashville yesterday.  Within an hour of the time my son called,  I was packed and in the car and on my way.  I arrived here around 11PM.  My daughter-in-love's father needed emergency surgery this morning after an MRI showed a large mass VERY near his spine.  I'm here to stay with our three grandchildren.

I'm so thankful for the power of prayer.  I'm thankful that we can pray any time, any where, with words or just in quiet.  God knows our needs.  I'm thankful I can ask others to join me in prayer and know that they will.

It was a very long surgery and it will be a few days before we know if it is benign, but he is out of surgery and the doctors are optimistic.

On the plus side, I'm here with my grandchildren :-)

I KNOW I'M IN THE MINORITY, BUT....

I don't like football.  There, I said it.
I like going to games, but I don't enjoy the game.  I like to people watch and eat the junk food.  LOL

Tonight I'll be watching Downton Abbey and flipping the channel to try to catch the Super Bowl commercial...the best part :-)

What about YOU?

HEY YOU

Wow!  Since I've come to my senses back to blogging, it seems like lots of my blog friends have stopped blogging.  I guess everyone is using facebook and twitter instead.

I know there are some of you who stop by that I don't really know.
Welcome!
Please leave a comment so I will have a way to visit you.  That's how I got to know a lot of my blog and Facebook friends.  I'm looking for some new blogs to read and would love to meet YOU.

I'm so thankful for my blog friends.  I'm still in contact with quite a few that I met from the very beginning of my blog way back in 2005.  I've been blessed to actual meet in person some of them.

We had some strange weather today.  VERY foggy most of the day until almost sunset and then the sun tried to come out.
