HELLO

Just wanted to say HELLO.  Life is pretty busy for me these days.  Lots going on.  No time to blog.  No time to visit.  Very little time to be on the computer.

Life is sweet though.

Thank you God for busy, but sweet times.

Back soon ;-)

DEAR DAVEN

Dear Daven

Unless God decides you are ready earlier, you will arrive via c-section on October 11th.

We are all so excited!

Guess what? Mommy and I visited your girlfriend Izzy this afternoon. I took her a cute little doll and it was almost bigger than her.

Holding Izzy made me even more excited to see you.

I love you little man.

Soon, very very soon!

Hugs,
Kat

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME

Oh.My.Word!  I had a wonderful birthday!

My day started when my niece, Brittany, and her boyfriend, Brandon,  took us out for breakfast to Another Broken Egg on the bay.  Yummy!  They stayed with us this weekend since they were in town to attend a beach wedding tonight.  Our time was limited, but it was still fun getting to see them.

I can't believe I didn't take my camera ;-(

All through the day I received so many calls, emails, facebook messages, birthday cards, phone calls, etc.

What a show of LOVE Thanks everyone!

These three grandchildren surprised me with a photo birthday card AND a message with them all singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  Very unique!  Loved it!
And these three grandchildren called and sang to me too!  So special!
Tonight we went out to dinner at Borago with our friends Linda & Dick and Kay & Larry.    I love Borago!

I had my favorite dish - Fusilli with toasted pine nuts, artichokes, calamata olives, fresh mozzarella and basil pesto sauce (and I add grilled shrimp)  Delish!

  We ended the night with another of my favorites....a seven layer caramel cake!  Decadent, but oh sooooo good!

I used to think birthdays were no big deal.  As a cancer survivor though, I realize that every single day is a gift!

Thank you Lord for another wonderful year.

I'm leaving after church tomorrow to go spend a few more days with Bree and Jay.  I'm so excited to get to go to the doctor with Bree on Monday.  She is also having another ultrasound to see if Daven is still breech.  If so, we think they will schedule a c-section in another week or so.

DRIVING MISS DAISY

pssst........we own a golf cart, but don't tell Miss Daisy

'cause she definitely thinks it's hers ;-)

It's hard to get her attention when the cart is moving.  Her eyes stay on the road.  And she knows the usual route we take.  If we choose to go a different way, she stands up and is on FULL alert.  LOL

Awwww there's that sweet face!
I finally got her to look at me when we stopped at Publix and George went in for an item or two.

Miss Daisy aka The Go Go Girl!  Our girl LOVES to go.

SOUNDS LIKE A PLAN

It's my birthday week, so I'm making plans for next year............

Laugh More
Gripe less
Ignore critics
Say yes
Order dessert
Love Life…
Be me !!!

I've started "the plan" already.  Tonight George and I went to Cantina Laredo and we shared the Mexican brownie for dessert.  Oh.My.Goodness!

WOW....JUST IN THE NICK OF TIME

Do you remember this photo from my post this morning?  It's Bree and her friend Leslie...belly to belly.  Leslie is on the left and Bree is on the right.

I took the photo on Saturday....just in the nick of time, it seems.

Leslie was due on October 13th,  just 5 days before Bree's due date of October 18th.
And guess what?

Izzy was born TODAY and weighed 5 lbs 3 ounces.

So excited for Leslie and Wade Congratulations!
Can't wait for our turn!

CAN.NOT.WAIT!

Bree misses her ring.  It won't fit anymore ;-(
Soon......
Jay's Mom had just stopped by with lots of goodies (and dinner too) and brought these cute shoes for Daven.  Bree wanted a photo of them with she and Jay in their cowboy boots.  Great idea, but her boots don't fit anymore either.  lol

 Best friends already!
Bree is on the right and her friend Leslie is on the left.
Actually....Daven is on the right and Izzy is on the left ;-)

Bree and I stopped by Leslie's a few days ago so that I could see Izzy's nursery.  Bree and Leslie work together and their due dates are 5 days apart.

PHOTO SHOOT

I did a maternity photo shoot tonight with Bree and Jay......and Daven too, of course.  I'm not a photographer, for sure, but I did my best.  Here's one photo I took. It's hard to post from Bree's un-cooperative laptop, so I'll wait until I get home tomorrow to post more.

HERE, THERE, EVERYWHERE

I'm doing laundry and re-packing tonight.  And I'm not a good packer.  I tend to take everything but the kitchen sink.  I drive myself CRAZY thinking I might need this... or that... or maybe one more of something.
You know...just in case ;-)

I just drove home this afternoon from Atlanta, but I'm only home for one night.  I leave tomorrow to go see Bree and Jay.  Can't wait.  I'm so excited.  Bree has the weekend off and we will be finishing up the nursery.  AND...we're washing baby clothes and getting everything ready.  Doing THAT just makes it soooo real.  My heart seems to beat faster just thinking about it.  Know what I mean?

Daven will be here soon :-)

WHERE THERE'S A WILL, THERE'S A WAY

Have you ever played this game?

It's really a lot of fun.  Everyone puts on a headband type holder.  You ask the other players questions and try to guess what you are before the sand in the hour glass is gone.

Everyone looks pretty silly, but that makes it even more fun.

Since the power was out (for hours) due to a large tree which had fallen across the road and knocked down power lines, the grandkids and I had even more fun by playing it by candlelight and using flashlights!

A PERFECT DAY FOR A BIKE RIDE

As you will be able to tell from the photos I took today, it was a PERFECT day for a bike ride to the beach!  George and I couldn't wait to head out.

Not one person was by the pool at The Beach Club.  A first.  Everyone was on the beach.

As soon as I step on the board walk...every single time...my heart begins to race.  It's always always always a thrill.

Aahhhhh!
I love taking photos of the beach as seen through the sea oats.

A red flag today.  Because of rip currents, I believe.
Most of the beach was OURS ;-)
September and October (and April) are my favorite months here at the beach.  It's beautiful and not crowded.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We worked up an appetite so we stopped by the Shake Shanty at Baytowne Village on the way home.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We had a "guest" headed for our front door when we got home ;-)

Tomorrow is predicted to be another beautiful cool morning.  Yeah...George has golf and I have tennis.
